Club Level do's and don'ts

To the poster who asked about their parents bringing their daughter back to the room, several times while staying at the Poly Club level we have used babysitters and were able to get them their own room key, it won't be a problem.

I'm going to start doing this. We book multiple rooms (we take our adult children every other year). I'll just book ours on Club Level then I'm going to invite them up for breakfast every day. No need to pay Club rates for all of those rooms.

Yeah - I guess I was a fool to have my in-laws pay for cl room when I could have just "snuck" them in each day!

What people don't seem to realize is that having all these extra "guests" ends up costing more for food and drinks which will probably be passed on to next year's cl guests. Imagine if every room thought it would be okay to bring 1, 2 or 3 extra guests. Goodness knows BC CL lounge is small enough for PAYING guests.

I guess I just always believe that you should pay for what you get - not take something you are not entitled to.

Sorry, but I have to agree with DisneyMomx7. I just booked three CL rooms at YC for my next trip in May. We are taking 5 of my oldest sons' college friends to celebrate their college graduation. With the reasoning that's been going on here each of us could have just brought up an extra guest and one of us could have brought up 2 people. According to the discussions, that's not too many extra. Then I wouldn't have had to pay for the extra two rooms at that level.:confused3

No, if I want CL level I'll pay for it and I really expect everyone else to do the same.:goodvibes

In August 2006 just after 10:00 PM when the Atrium Club Cast Members were cleaning up for the night, I was coming back from the Magic Kingdom with some friends because I had some gifts to give them in my room and one of the Cast Members wanted to know if they wanted any cans of Coca Cola or Spite? Since it was a Cast Member who brought it up obviously she didn't mind and since the lounge was not serving any more food or drinks that night it's not like they prevented any guests from getting them. So I guess once in a while they will do stuff like that and who are we to judge them when a Cast Member offers.

If they are not staying at the same resort as you, you won't be able to swim together either.

But all of you could go up to the fourth floor observation level on the same level as Chef Mickey's and stores. You don't have to be a guest at the CR to go out there.

But, should you eventually stay on a club level, make sure you are dressed before you go to the lounge in the morning. No pajamas in the lounge, please.

Please whenever you are in common areas of ANY hotel, do not wear pajamas. It is totally uncool. And shoes should be worn, too.

Before anyone laughs, I have been encountering this at high and low end hotels/motels! :scared1:

Hmmmmm...my pj's cover me up better than most ladies wear with short-shorts and tight tank tops, and look really cute with my eyeore slippers ;).

I can understand about wet swimsuits, but if they had robes on or coverups over them and they were dry, than why not?

It's just not cool. And not even boxers with t-shirts. Please don't do it! :scared1:

In my opinion, people who are not registered guests on club level do not belong in the lounge. Everyone has the option of booking and paying for club level. The amenities should not be accessible to guests' friends, family, co-workers, random acquaintances, etc.

And no, I don't think it's bad for little kids to show up in PJ's, or adults in PJ's and robes. But nightgowns with no robes, or robes with no PJ's.... Now that's just "off putting" IMO. And yes, that really happened at RPC.
We could really care less how people dress in the lounge ... what really irks us are the people who take whole bottles of wine or water that are there for everyone back to their room (and yes we have actually seen this happen more than once) :sad2:

I love how there are so many justifications for people doing precisely what they want to do.

Guests are fine if they don't eat anything, guests are fine if there are only a few of them, guests are fine if it isn't every night, guests are fine if a CM (who makes $8 an hour and doesn't give a rat's hat WHO is in there) says it is OK, guests are fine if they can't afford their own CL room...:headache:

I have noticed on the Boards that many posters (not all) are more frequently trying to bend/break the rules. Bringing guests to CL, parking in the monorail resort lots, asking for special access and privileges. Just sayin'.

what you see now a lot more are smokers in PJs and robes at the DSAs. who wants to totally change clothes in the very early hours (or late hours, actually) just to go have a smoke, then totally change again to get back into bed?

but then again, most of the people at the DSAs are very friendly, and don't care if the person next to them is in their robe and fuzzy slippers.:rotfl:

Are some of you really serious about wearing inappropriate clothing in the concierge lounge? It is a public place, not your kitchen. Please do the other guests a favor and dress before you go to the lounge. That includes brushing your teeth, combing your hair, putting on real footwear (not slippers), etc.

If you wouldn't walk down Main Street in the MK looking like that, you shouldn't look like that in the lounge.

Perhaps a small child, one or two years old, but older than that they also need to be dressed.

The CMs never like to tell a guest "no". I can just imagine this one:
Guest: I really prefer to enjoy my room and the lounge sans clothing. I like to feel free while I am relaxing. Would there be a problem with me doing that?
CM: (deep sigh) Weeeelllll, we certainly do want the guests to enjoy themselves while they are our guests at this resort. However, we do recommend that our guests wear clothing in the concierge lounge.
Guest: WHAT? Do you think I am paying all this money to suffer in the lounge? Don't you want the guests to enjoy themselves? Where are the rules posted that clothing is not optional? Show me those rules.
CM: Weeeelllll, as long as the other guests don't mind.....

You brush your teeth before your first cup of coffee? I just can't. I'll rinse my mouth with water and make sure I don't say "hello" or anything with a long "h" in it.:rotfl: Are flip flops ok with you? Technically, they're not slippers.

Well at the Contemporary and Boardwalk Inn we have asked for an extra bottle of Evian that they keep in the back and each time the Cast Members gave it to us without a problem, so maybe when guests take those bottles they asked for them. Now sometimes we have also taken mini bottles of Dasani the odd time they put them out, however we don't see anything wrong with that.

As for bottles of Wine we were told the guests are not allowed to ask for a bottle just for themselves, so no Cast Members should ever be giving them out.

If you wear them in the theme parks out in public, they are appropriate. I don't drink coffee.

We wouldn't have any problem if the Cast Members were giving them out, however, these individuals walked up to the counter, and just took the open bottles sitting in the ice buckets and walked out the door of the lounge. The CMs were all in the back area of the lounge at the time so did not see the guests taking the bottles.

Well yes that was wrong and no guests should ever do that.

Is that really a rule?

It's courtesy to your fellow guests. We don't really want to see you & your family all hanging out of their pjs while we try to eat.

It is a shared public space. Do you go out to a restaurant for breakfast in your pjs?

While it has only happened rarely, we have seen teen girls & grown women with short pj bottoms & tank tops that are almost see thru come into the lounge. Yes, I know, if we don't like it don't look. Just pointing out that pjs are not really apropriate in public.

Like I said, the only time I'd do it is if I'm running in for a cup of coffee to tide me over while I get ready (I'm really cranky in the morning w/o coffee). I doubt myself or anyone else in my family is going to sit and eat in PJ's. And I agree on the see-thru tanks and short shorts, not cool.

At the BC lounge last month, my family and I were relaxing after a long day at MK. We heard a woman on the phone on the table next to us LOUDLY inviting someone up to the lounge, saying she would let them in, there was plenty of food, blah blah.

Then they arrived.. at least 10 people. I thought for sure that a CM would notice but no one did. These people made themselves at home, and ate plenty of food. It really was a sight. Due to this, I have a biased view on this topic.

And in terms of the PJ thing.. I wasn't offended by anyone wearing PJs in the lounge. But thanks to the man who arrived in his robe, barefoot, and picked up several bagels with his hands, no robes please :thumbsup2

The only time where we saw guests that did not belong in a Club Level lounge was in August 2009 at the Contemporary. Someone staying up there invited at least 20 people or more that was either family or friends, who were very loud and eating a lot of the foods and drinks, plus they had little kids with them running around the lounge. Well to say the least it was not enjoyable trying to relax up there. When we went to speak with one of the Cast Members he appologized and said the 1st time a guest does that they are not allowed to say anything, however if they did that a 2nd time then the people not staying up there would be asked to leave. Now what they did do was later in the evening they put signs out in the lounge that said it was reserved for Atrium Club guests only and it was the 1st time they ever used them.

I have only stayed Cl 2x once at WL and once at a Universal hotel. I would have never thought to bring anyone up who was not a CL guest. The area to eat and drink is not very big and it certainly is not made to bring a big group of non guests. Yes, your group of 3 people wouldn't make a big difference...but I just do not think it is fair.

It would be very easy for the CMs to ask to see your CL card when exiting the elevator. (yes you could get around this but it would prevent a large group from showing up)
