Club level at AKL at 7 months?

Is there any time of year when club level at AKL is open at 7 months? If so, is there a certain room size that is the most widely available?

There are only five two bedroom lockoffs on the sixth floor of Jambo House. So it will be very difficult to get any of them at seven months out.

At some point I had heard that the studios book up first so that implies 1BRs are easier to get. The risk with booking a 1BR is that you have a one in five chance of getting the HA 1BR with the roll-in shower instead of a whirlpool tub.

As to the best time of year to try, I can't say.

1 br generally book up after studios and 2br, but it may be only a matter or minutes or hours at the 11 month mark.

If you check often and have flexibiity of dates you can often pick up a day or 2 in the moderate or slower times of the year at 7 months

Club level is not just near impossible at 7 months out, it is very often difficult to get even get at 11 months out. Because members can reserve up to 7 nights 11 months out from date of arrival, members can often find that they cannot even get the start date they want 11 months out because it it is filled up by other members booking a little earlier. At 7 months out you need either a lot of luck or follow the 7 month window and eventually find a couple days open here and there. For club level, all rooms fill quickly and there is none that hangs out there for any length of time. I have seen times when studios filled first, 2BRs first, and sometimes even the 1BR filling first.

A friend got a 1 bedroom at the end of June at 7 months. This was about 4 years ago when it was still 7 months from check-out. The fact that we checked in on Friday helped and she did day by day.

In addition to the info that dsruba gave (which is always the best info on general availability, I believe), it depends on the number of nights you are looking for. Earlier this year, for example, I could have booked a 1 BR club level in Jambo for 6 nights at the 7 month mark for the weeks of 6/21-28, 7/5-12 and 7/19-26. In general though, its pretty unlikely.

Wow, I'm surprised summer vacation isn't a popular time and wasn't booked up! That is definitely a very small number of rooms. I like the concierge concept of daily housekeeping and access to the lounge. I wish they would have some concierge villas at every resort.

When DVC took over the fifth floor at Jambo House, they also got stuck with the sixth floor. Since that is the concierge lounge floor, they had to make those concierge villas. They have crappy views, so don't book them for the view. At least one is handicap accessible, so if you don't want that, you might still get stuck with it.

Concierge villas probably won't happen again.

Just wanted to point out that since all of the CL villas are lock-offs, the 2BRs are only available if both a studio and 1BR are available for a given day. In other words, on any given day it is physically impossible for a 2BR to be available if either all 1BR or all studios become unavailable (and conversely, if a studio and 1BR are both available then, by definition, a 2BR is also available). Therefore, I suppose another way to look at it is that, by definition the 2BR's are always the "first to go."

I had luck last year booking a week at 7 months in a 1BR CL villa for the week after Labor Day. Since I know how difficult it is to score a CL reservation, I was absolutely floored that I was able to book a full week without having to waitlist. Unfortunately, circumstances required that we change our plans and we had to cancel the reservation (I'm sure we made someone else very happy, indeed).

The 2 times I have tried at 7 months I have been able to pick up at least one Cl studio day (summertime). Last time I pieced together 3 days by checking availability way to often

Last year i booked a weekend (2 nights) in a studio in March only 5 months out. I had a few different weekends to choose from that were also available.

I got a CL 7 months out at AKL in a 1 bedroom for July 1-4, 2011. We did end up with the handicap room but I loved it as it was right outside the food/beverage area. It was great. We had a nice view of the savannah as well.
