Closing Time!

Is it really three weeks from when the deed is recorded to when you get the email for a DVC account and points loaded? I am so close and counting the hours... Deed was recorded 10/28.
It has been less than 3 weeks lately. Probably 2 weeks or less

Hahaha at the oops!

I actually totally opps'ed a contract. I offered just knowing they wouldn't accept it and they did. So I had to call my husband and say well I kind of accidentally bought another resale.

If I buy another resale contract with the same use year, it will be added to my existing membership right? Which means I won't get another activation email?

Would it be another contract # or will it be the same contract number but more points, given the same resort?

I never got activation emails after my 1st purchase. It will be the same member ID and the contact number will be slightly different adding a .10 .20 etc to the end

You won't get an activation email. You may or may not get an email to let you know that points are being added.

It'll be a separate contract right? So in the future if I decide to sell 1 of them I am not selling both together?

Delayed update as I'm in a jam packed WDW vacation. Almost there. First time buying a different UY; maybe I didn't notice it before, but now I see a link for "Add Member Id" on my DVC dashboard webpage. Just waiting on some emails from DVC.

*** told me that the seller's docs were also received on 11/4 (I asked for notification that the seller's docs were received before I would send over payment), and I sent final payment by wire by 11am, which they confirmed received. I'm surprised it's 2 days later, and I'm still waiting for the contract to close.

Sorry if this has been asked/answered but I feel I found conflicting answers via search.

Just bought 150 direct and completed the Docusign. My understanding was I didn't need a notary since I'm a cash buyer (based on answers I've read on this board).

I got a random call from DVC today checking in (I hadn't completed Docusign at this point--probably just because it's been a week and I haven't signed the contract. Keep in mind this was NOT the sales rep I originally spoke with--so it felt more like a general check up). She mentioned she saw I had viewed the Docusign today but not signed it. I brought up the notary and she said I needed to schedule the notary by clicking the suggested link.

I specifically asked "I thought that was only necessary for financed contracts and not for cash buyers". She said "no, you still need a notary to view the document and sign off on it." So then I asked if I made a mistake if I had already signed a few boxes (as in, did someone need to observe me do that?) and she said no, the notary just checks off the uploaded drivers licenses that we uploaded are valid.

This seemed to go against what other data points I read on this forum were--simply people who completed the docusign and Disney was happy with it and they got to continue on in the process (thus they never did a notary).

I guess I can email my sales rep but it seems easier/faster to ask here haha

You might not get a good answer here since it varies. I don’t know if it’s based on resort location and/or where you live. I did not need a notary, but I also bought a CA resort. They have a QA team at 407-827-4743 you can call them to verify if you need a notary.

I don’t know if this applies to US residents or not (I am UK), but we had to sign an affidavit to declare we were not from a ‘country of concern’ when we purchased. This did need a notary.

This was true for us as well this year for a FL purchase. We didn’t need to do it in ‘23, new law. We did online and it was super easy!

ETA:US residents here.

Interesting, I guess when I do buy Poly I'll just drive the 20 minutes to get on property and do everything in person to avoid having to do a notary.

We did a notary for our resales but never had to do it for our direct purchases.
