Everything looks wonderful! I can't believe you got that all done in just 2 weeks time! I think it's great that you are sneaking in tees for your husband. Mine will wear them at Disney, but not at home. Makes me happy:)

I hope he doesn't fight me too much. I showed them to him when I made them and he didn't really say anything one way or the other. I said who are you going to see there that you know? Ummm probably NOBODY! He knows how much I treasure pictures and the kids are excited cuz they will match so he will probably wear it kicking & screaming. :rotfl2: I am telling you he is worse than a kid!!!

And I have good news! My Granny, as you remember, she had a stroke a few weeks back. Well, first a little update. She had a slimy insurance person sell her some insurance year before last (we didn't know!!!! and my Mom has power of attorney)...she gave up medicare for this crapy insurance. Well, guess what...the insurance only covered for her to go into nursing care in this CRAPY home in a VERY BAD neighborhood. WE ARE NOT HAPPY!!!! It took two days before they started PT with her!:scared1: Thankfully, we have a friend that does that and she started with her the first day, we didn't even ask the home. My mom has been working and working to get all of this straight while my poor Granny sits over there! Mom called this morning to let me know we move her on the 28th to a home right down the road from her!   I am soooooo happy! This is a home we have always used for my grandparents...THEY ROCK!

I am so glad to hear that your granny is doing better and that she will be close soon!

Hello!

I made my first Disney creation tonight. It's not fabulous but it was easy to make. I'm not crazy about the pink cuff. It was a nice idea but it makes it a lot longer. It's not really messed up in the front as it appears, it's the way she's standing ;) It will work though. Now I hope it will be warm enough to wear it in two weeks :rotfl:

She was a little goofy tonight for the picture!

TFL:)

It is very cute!!

That is a good way to do it :thumbsup2 ! Kids run in so many shapes and sizes, and a lot just depends on how they like to wear their pants. In Louie's case, he likes them really high up on the waist. I'm going to have to get the kid some thick rimmed glasses and a pocket protector, I'm afraid! :rotfl:

LOL!!!! How funny :)

I just love your shirts and the outfits! I only wish I could get done as much as you have. They look great!

PLEASE HELP!!

My machine is pulling the upper thread, TONS OF IT, under. . . I have tried so many things to fix it, but I just can't get it to work. Please, please help!!! I think I need someone else's perspective. . .

If the machine is pulling the upper thread to the bottom it is not going through the upper thread tension or you have a problem with the tension disks. I usually tell people to rethread every thing including you bobbin. Make sure when you are threading the machine you have your pressure foot up so the thread can pass through the tension disks properly. Hope this helps.

So I haven't been on here for some time because I am the lady making the 14 cushions for my friends dance studio. So after 6 months of hard work I HAVE FINISHED THE CUSHIONS!!! That's right I have actually finished making 14 30X23 cushions! Of course I forgot to take a picture of them in the dance studio, but they are done. I have such relief I just had to post. Now I'm making a picture poster board for her circuit breaker cover...:confused3 it never ends.

I've since finished a jacket and vest for my DD and now I'm making a neat brown top for myself, I'll post pictures later.
Wow, you made all those cushions and didn't get a picture!! You need to go and take one! Welcome back!

We are having a bad weekend. My 16 year old cat (my first baby) is lost. He got out on Saturday. We've put up a ton of fliers and walked the neighborhood looking for him with no luck. He's siamese so if he was stuck somewhere I would hear him and he always comes when I call him. I just hate not knowing what has happened to him.
I'm so sorry you've lost your cat. Teresa has lost the same cat 2x and he keeps coming back. The second time he was gone for 2-3 months, I believe!
Hopefully yours will come back, too.

Ok here are some pictures that I have been meaning to post, you'd think that not working I would have more time!
Anyway first up is the last Big Give outfits I did ( They are for Noah and his brother Joshua)

Those outfits turned out so cute!!

I love the bowling picture and I especially love the one of Sophia covered in paint! Your kids are so adorable!

Why aren't you working? Did I miss something?

I am still in tooth agony, I am now in my third antibiotic, as the dentist refuses to do anything until infection clears more, today I got up to a fever and a swollen face I am about to do like Tom Hanks in Cast Away and do the job myself

it makes it hard to do much sewing but today I did a little sewing for the give that I am participating on

I'm so sorry your tooth is hurting so bad. I can't imagine!

Those outfits turned out wonderfully! I always love to see what you come up with!

That christening outfit is darling. Did it make you get all teary-eyed when you found it? We had some friends return some of Tessa's baby clothes that we had given them (so we could pass them on to another friend with a baby girl). Henry made fun of my blubbering over her teeny tiny socks and teeny tiny dresses.

Thanks for the help. I tried changing the tension but it still came through. I ended up matching the bobbin thread to the top with each thread change. Ugh! I cannot believe how bad my first attempt at appliqueing looks. Please tell me it gets better with practice!???? From a distance it looks cute but up close... pretty bad! The pieces were so small so I used a tiny zigzag and boy do they look crazy crooked. I'll post pics tomorrow. Need to go to bed!

Some machines just do that, I've found. My Brother always pulls the bobbin thread to the top, regardless of the settings. If I loosen the tension too much, it just makes the stitching wonky. So, I use matching bobbin thread in it.

My Viking does great and I can use standard white or black bobbin thread in it.

Your little comedian is so cute! I love the dress! What is it you don't like about the pink cuff? I think it's really pretty!

In Louie's case, he likes them really high up on the waist. I'm going to have to get the kid some thick rimmed glasses and a pocket protector, I'm afraid!
:lmao: :rotfl: Don't forget the suspenders!

I have shorts cut out of the blue for my nephew and now I need to find a white shirt to match and I may applique a patch of the pooh material on it.

Do you think the bucket hat of these 2 materials is too girlie for a 2 yr old boy???
th_IMG_0791.jpg

I wouldn't put the pooh toile on Sawyer (who is 2 1/2). I am very picky about him looking too girly or babyish. Some people like that look for little boys, though.

I love the dress and headband!!

Boy! You have been a busy little appliquer haven't you?? They look really nice!

These are all great! What pattern did you use for the third top in the first picture. The Minnie one? I really like it.

I didn't really use a pattern for that top, I just figured out the length that I wanted then I added enough (I think like 5 or 6 inches) to be able to fold over the top and then I put 2 rows of casing in for elastic. The first row was like an inch or so down and then I put the next row a few more inches down. I just kind of went by what looked good on my DD. Stitch of up the side and then I just added criss cross straps. I hope this made sense. I think someone else posted direction similar to this a little while back.

Thank YOU for saying thank you! Your appliques look terrific!! I love all the matching outfits. It's so much fun to match every day!
Wow, I can't believe you sewed up all that stuff so quickly! It all looks so pretty! You only paid 50 cents for that wonderful fabric valance?? Wow!!! That's a GREAT deal! I think my favorite is the Monsters Inc dress. Where did you get that fabric?

That turned out so cute!! Camden looks adorable, too! Our little ones are growing up so fast. Tessa will be 6 next month. :sad2: You did a great job on the applique!!

Here is what it looks like on the bottom of the fabric:

zzzzzzzz.jpg

WHat I have noticed it is doing is pulling more thread into the bobbin area, almost like it is getting stuck, so I took that part apart, pulled out the bobbin case/house whatever it is called and put it all back together, but it kept doing it. I think I am going to get machine oil and putting it on the hook and the bottom where the manual suggests you do. But any other feed back would be helpful, I have threaded and re-threaded a zillion times. . . Thanks so much!

Check the thread you are using. Is it old? Then recheck the top tension. It looks like the top is not tight so it is not pulling the bottom. Take all the threads out, bobbin out and check each part. Even lint build up can jam the tension disk. Rethread and see if it helps.

As a last resort, take it in to the shop.

Back to applique pirate heads.

Guess What?????

I tried on a Mickey Cutie tee shirt that I bought at the Disney Store last year. It is 10 pounds away from fitting or 40 sticks of butter. ;) Anyway . . . Brett said, I like that I would wear it. I cracked up because - 1. It was a girls shirt and 2. He has veheminantly stated he will not wear Disney shirts even at WDW.

I should do the treasured pictures angle. That might work!

I'm still working. It is getting close to my anniversary date and I had some time to either use or lose.
And thanks about the kids I think they are adorable too, but I'm partial to them . :goodvibes
Are you starting a TR too??

I am so sorry! That sucks!!! I would check the tension disks as well. Honestly it might be an issue with your bobbin case. I had a similar issue and took my machine in. Turned out it was nothing with the tension but all with the bobbin case. He told me to make sure to keep the lint clean and have my machine in for cleaning/service on a regular basis.

Cool We are staying at POR also. If you see us definitely say hi! Are your kids wearing any customs that I can be on the lookout for?

Look on my pre trip report link in my signature and see what I look like. I also posted a picture of two of the outfits I made Grace. Look at the picture I posted of my lime green bag I will be carrying. You won't be able to miss the bag if you see me. It is so bright. Say hi if you see me. I will do the same if I see any little girl wearing the dresses you made.

Mine does this every once in a while, only it will never sew forward again. It gets all tangled in a ball and usually will cause a hole in the shirt when I try to get it out. BUT it is always huge amounts of lint/dust in the bobbin area. It did this the monday before we left and I cleaned everything out real good and worked fine afterward. Hopefully that is your issue. I didn't even need to remove the bobbin casing this time, that kind of freaks me out.

I don't think I realized that Brett would not wear disney even at disney! Doesn't he ever see the cute family pictures of everyone matching? Will he do matching solid polo shirts? or atleast t's?

Okay, everyone! My trip report is in full swing and it is really weird posting pictures of others kids, so just PM me if you want them off. I know I read where some said it was fine but I also know I skipped alot of pages here and there.

I am now working on the applique and I have noticed that on tight little circles when I stop and move the fabric, needle down, the stitching edge moves and the circles look uneven.

What am I doing wrong? I really don't want to post the picture as it looks bad.:sad1:

Mine do this sometimes too. It does stink when it happens.

Sorry, no real advice, just wanted to say, been there, done that, still do it!
