nathanyell: How crowded is the boat going back after EMH? We plan to do MK on EMH day and didn't know which was the best way to get back to WL.

I've never had an issue with the boat after EMH. But we are ones to leave about 30 minutes before the end. I've done it on MLK weekend the last few years and have never had to wait long for the boat.

We actually never take the bus from WL to MK, because we just love the boat!! Toot! Toot!!

After the last colossal upgrade to the Pres. Suite, I don't expect to ever be upgraded anywhere ever again - I must have used up all my upgrade luck, don't you think?

For us, I care more about the CL manager, but I thought you were staying CL on your next visit?

So were you CL before? I'm glad you're happy with your new booking and you're absolutely right that you should never give up trying to get the room you'd like, even upon check-in;)

We had the CL upgrade in June for our weekend getaway. I have CL booked for our December weekend trip. Our normal trip in January I have booked standard.

Yeah I figure you can't get a much better upgrade than the Pres. Suite. :rotfl:

Can someone answer this? I read somewhere that (don't remember where) that they walk from WL to TTC, is this doable? Are there sidewalks? I think it would be awesome to be able to do that.

It is not a long walk, but there are no sidewalks. So it's either walk on the road or the grass. I would not do it personally.

Does anybody know what kind of coffemeaker they have? Is it the pods, or a regular, and if it is a regular kind, do you know what size and type of filter? Thanks!

I have not heard that there are the pod coffee makers yet. Probably won't be there until after the refurb.

Thanks, it what I thought. Since we'll have a 5 year old with us I think it's out of the question. I guess boat over to MK and then Monorail to TTC. I know he's going to want to ride on it when he sees it.

Just stopping by to say I am super, super psyched that we just booked WLV with my ILs RCI points. I had been searching for 4 months and it paid off. Woot!! Going in May and super excited.
I hope you have fun planning your vacation!

WDW really frowns upon guests wandering off the beaten path, so yes, your best bet is to boat over to the CR and get off at the first stop - the TTC.

Is there one scheduled?
In August, the club level manager, Randy, told me that a complete top to bottom room rehab. is scheduled to begin 2-12. The coffeemakers are being replaced at other resorts, so I don't think it necessarily means that the WL would wait until the rehab. I think they will replace them all at once as they get them. They did this last Christmas when we were there with the DVD players.

I have a standard view room booked at VWL. I couldn't seem to find a map like that of WL. Is there one or does anyone have any suggestions for me? When I stayed at BLT I was able to get a wonderful room with a perfect view of the electrical water pageant thanks to some suggestions. Don't really care about the view, just looking to see if certain requests would help get something better than a view of the bus stop.

Regardless of the view though, I can't wait for my first stay at VWL!! :woohoo:

Thank you WDWKOOK. :goodvibes Do you have any idea how long the rehab is going to take?

I have never stayed at VWL and I've not heard about the best STD VWL rooms to book. Hopefully, someone else can help you with that.

Here is a link to a DVC map with the VWL room numbers and many VWL photos:

And, another VWL/WL map:

The manager estimated that it would take about two years and that one floor at a time (there are 7) would be blocked off. IMHO, I still say it would be better to block off one wing at a time rather than an entire floor, especially for Club Level, but what do I know...

Two years. Hopefully it won't be to intrusive. The WL is the only place hubby and I stay. :)

I've stayed at resorts during refurb and never had an issue. If you do I would definitely bring it up to the front desk.

I always think of it as the less people at the resort the better! It's like having the place to yourself. :rotfl:

That works. Actually I remember some years back 4 or 5 maybe there was scaffoldling (?) on the outside. And that wasn't to bad. That didn't bother us at all.

Isn't GF also being refurbed next year too? Interesting they'd have two Deluxe Resorts being refurbed at the same time.

Not too worried for our trip though... can't complain when in Disney right?

Don't you just love the feeling you get when you walk into the WL???? For that reason, I can't stay anywhere else! 24 more days for us :cool1:

I just want to clarify whether there are lifevests available for children in the pool...I know some resorts provide them free of charge...do they have those at WL? If there aren't, are you allowed to bring your own?

Oh my goodness!! That feeling is incredible. :goodvibes I keep trying to understand it. :confused3 I guess somethings aren't meant to be understood......They are just for feeling.

First free WiFi and now pods!

Yesterday, on another thread, I asked if someone could tell me if the new Pod coffee makers are now in the WL rooms because many on the WL thread were asking. elaw was so kind and helpful and actually posted a photo for us that they took last night!
