Hi everyone,

We are detouring from our next Disney trip for a stop at Clearwater Beach. We will be going to the aquarium to see Winter, but also want beach time. In the past, my biggest desire in a beach hotel was a great ocean view, and the ability to walk right onto the beach from the hotel--but it seems like things in Clearwater are arranged differently. A few hotels I have read about are apparently across a street from the beach (Marriott, Hyatt), and I can't tell about some others (Hilton, Sandpearl, Sheraton)...

Is anyone familiar enough with hotels in this area to point me in the direction of an actual beachfront hotel? Or maybe there aren't any in Clearwater?

Any information/advice/input is appreciated!

We did the same thing last year. We spent 4 nights of our vacation on Clearwater Beach after doing 10 days of Disney. It was our first visit to Clearwater and we fell in love! We are doing 7 nights this year as 4 just was not enough for us. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites on the Gulfview Blvd. Is on the ocean but no beach in front. A short walk up the Beachwalk and you can step out onto the beach right off the sidewalk. No complaints about the hotel. Would recommend for sure if you are OK with not having a beachfront.

If budget permits, the Hilton and the Sandpearl will put you right on the beach and are beautiful. Sandpearl especially. The Hyatt is across the street from the beach. Everything is very compact so really no matter where you stay, you are literally steps from the beach.

We are considering Coconut Cove Resort this year. Its an all suite with 550 sq ft rooms. Across the street but I'm thinking the suite and space might be worth it. Good Luck. :yay:

The Sheraton Sand Key is on the beach, not across the street and a bit south and over a bridge from the main drag.
The Hilton is also directly on the beach and is centrally located on Clearwater Beach.

It's on our list of places to stay, we've not stayed personally, but know several people who have stayed at and highly recommend the Sandpearl. I know it's expensive, but gets such wonderful feedback from those we know.

We stayed at the Quality Inn which is was a short walk to beach. However, I did see the Hilton and it is perfectly located. It was right near Pier 60 and the main restaurants. We loved Clearwater too! It wasn't too far from Disney. Definitely worth the trip:thumbsup2

We stayed at Sheraton Sandkey last summer. It was great. We like not being right on the main drag. There was a shuttle that would take you to the main drag for a couple of bucks or you can walk a mile and half to get there. Nice place to visit. Going back again this summer.
