There is some stuff called stove brite (I think) and you spread it on with a paper towel and we use a razor blade to scape off the spill and then wipe off with a moist sponge.
If the cleaning solution that came with the stove and a soft sponge with a scrubbie side doesn't work. Try a new straight edge razor blade, can find in the cleaning department of a store like Target. The kind that closes up into it self but not the kind in a hardware store to cut boxes. KWIM
I use a paint scraper or a razor blade (one you'd get at a hardware store that is wide with a handle) with water or sometimes a cleaner. The sharper the better.

I use cooktop cleaner, then I pour a small amount of white vinegar on the spot, let it sit for a minute, then wipe off with a paper towel. Looks like new again!
