CK - Valley Forge

I agree, the convention center needs a face lift...it is looking very worn...and the bathrooms are really bad, and totally not enough of them....I can't believe some bathrooms only had one stall......

The vendor floor is definitely too small...they should try and get the floor below to...use one for the crop and one for the vendor faire....

But I will go back again next year if they don't move it.....

I didn't even notice the whole "face lift" aspect...I've been there many times in the past for computer shows, etc. It just is what it is.

However, they definitely didn't plan on enough space for the vendor fair! Anyone else wonder what they needed all those tables for outside the "vendors only" concession stand? They had about 10 tables for the participants to eat at & about 30 for the vendors...definitely needed some re-arrangement there. Of course anyone could actually sit at those tables, but it seemed that they were kind of "hidden" from the main group like they didn't really want us to use them. If they'd used some of that space for actual vendors stalls it wouldn't have been so bad.

I need a cane when I walk & had to give up on shopping because people kept kicking my cane out from under me. :( It wasn't carelessness...it was just too crowded. I probably will not go back next year.

Believe it or not, but it has had a face lift in the last 10 years! Yikes! Back in the day, when I was a teacher, I was the advisor to the class of 98 and they had their Sr. Prom there. It was once maroon and white (not peach). It needs some serious work if it wants to compete with the convention center in Philadelphia.

Last year, the vendor fair and crop space was the floor below. It wasn't much better.

I hope they don't move it. I think the convention center in Fort Washington is being closed. I don't know of anything else that is close to West Chester (where QVC is and where Lisa does her show). I wonder when the announce the dates for next year??

We have a beautiful convention center in Wilmington, DE. The only problem is there isn't a hotel attached. But it is new and huge! They just had a big Wire Jewelry show there, and are having a big jewelry show soon.

Lisa said in the first class that she really likes the PA show, so I think they will keep it there.

Right. I forgot about the hotel! Let's hope they keep it! It is super close to where I live. We'll see!

Well if they do have it there next year I will not be staying there or at the Hilton. That place was a dump!! But at least we had power.
I did pass the new Springhill Suites in Norristown so that is where I will be!

We just got a new convention center in Hartford and it is wonderful. We had 2 or 3 CM crops there and there was plenty of room plus free seminars.

I will definitely go to CKC Manchester next year, it was only a 3 hour drive so if I take 1 day of classes I can be home by dinner.

My biggest wish is that the tables were deeper and a little father apart. It was like that at both CKC's.

I agree about the tables. I think I wrote that on every evaluation! There was one room that I was in and the tables were perfect, but for the most part, we were way too close together and we had way to much stuff to deal with!

We stayed at the Radisson. (The round one) It was pretty nice. Not like the Beach or Yacht club, but perfect for what we needed. I've never stayed at the Hilton. I'm sorry it wasn't very nice. It makes me angry to spend money on something that should be good and it isn't!

The Manchester one is probably closer to you than this one was, right? I think would have a hard sell to convince my DH that I wanted to go to 2 conventions.

It would be an 8-9 hour drive for you. I'm almost 1/2 way in between the 2 plus we drive everywhere! A 6 -10 hour road trip is nothing for us.

As for DH and conventions or crops, I have to limit myself to 1 per month but mostly I go to one every 2 months and only 1-2 overnighters a year. It's payback for the car shows I get dragged to.
