City Walk or ICON Park on NYE

Does anyone have experience at both areas on NYE (up through midnight?) Trying to decide which hotel to book (both would be walking distance so we didn't have to drive). Will be with our teens - 13 and 15.

If you go with City Walk, any of the Universal hotels north of I4 are walkable from City Walk. Royal Pacific and Hard Rock are closest to City Walk.

I would feel a lot safer at City Walk .

Thank you - I should have specified that we know the two hotels we would choose based on location. With going through security, makes sense about the safety aspect of City Walk. Anyone have a sense of how crowded City Walk is on NYE? We are totally used to crowds, but wondering if anyone has found it unbearable.

Well there is a really good description of what to expect if you google online .

I would probably get there really early and go to the movie located at CityWalk just to have a place to wait out the day .
The Coconut Club on upper level is a must visit !
You can also jump on the boat transport to check out the resorts .
They have a Starbucks to sit and people watch too.
