I read a little bit about this on DIS NEWS. I am thinking that I would be interested in booking this if it's still available during my March trip. However, I have a couple of questions. I see it mentioned as a family night event and while I know it's Disney and a very family oriented place, I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions on attending as an all adult (women) group? Any info is appreciated. I'd love to attend as a family, but my adult kids and their young kids aren't interested.

I haven't done this myself, though I would like to (just DH and I). But I've seen a number of videos posted and they were produced by people who were just all adults. They have food and non-alcoholic drinks geared for kids but the bulk of it seems to be aimed at adult palates and even though there is a character meet and greet, there's also African music and musicians for entertainment (though adults also took part in the meet and greets). In fact, most of the videos I've seen I didn't actually see many children around at all. So while it may be a family-friendly event, an all adult group will not be out of place.

I just booked this for December and we have watched a few you tube video's on it (Tim Tracker's was very thorough) and I think it definitely looks fun for a group of ladies!

I just did this last week solo. There were other solo as well as groups of ladies. There were a few children but it was mostly adults. I highly recommend it.

Having done it this past August, if you have any reservations about it, dont, it is well worth it!! It was fun and lots of different things to eat and no kids here, so have fun!

We are doing it in December, no kids, just me and husband. There is a link to an excellent review on another restaurant thread which makes it sound very adult orientated. There is a lot of alcohol.

Thanks everyone! I’ll keep it high on my list for the winters trip.

For those who have done this, did you stay the entire 3 hours? The park closes at 8 and a DAK event is that evening at 9. What is it like after the park closes to regular guests? Can you still get on rides after 8?

I haven't done this yet, but from what I have seen in reviews and youtube, this is not a party for rides. Food and drinks, yes-rides no!

I know this event is about dining but was wondering how it works from 8-9, after the regular hours end and before the DAK event since the dining event is until 9. I guess we just keep eating and drinking :)

Excited my DD (19) and I are going in January. Had a friend do it recently and they loved it! Their tip, don’t fill up on the snacks at first two stops.
said they enjoyed everything they tried.

Is it a prepay event and can I book for March now? Also, do the rides stay open?

Thanks again for all your input!

Dee

The rides are not a part of this event. You start at the train station for the first part of the party and have drinks and snacks there. Then you board the train and ride to the Conservation station. There you have more drinks and food as well as the opportunity to have a virtual reality experience. Once you ride back to the train station you are escorted to the area in Africa that is the Harambe marketplace (food court) during the day. You stay in that area for the rest of the time. There is a TON of food there plus entertainment and a necklace making area. There were some kids at the event I attended but I dont think its especially kid friendly. Plus, its pretty expensive if you arent going to be drinking!
