Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

We're going to try for the 27th also around 12:00 (I don't think my kids 5 and 2.5) would be able to make it much longer for lunchtime! But to be honest, I'll take anytime- I'm really happy they added the princess lunch, it seems to be making getting into the castle a little easier for all of us.

It's funny I had posted to the other CRT lunch list that I didn't understand why people without kids go to princess breakfasts, but I really think I was wrong, because I think I probably am more excited about this than my kids!

omg!! I am SOOOOOOOOO EXICTED about it, and personally I would rather ride early, go to the cool ac castle at lunch, go back to swim at the Poly and then do MK again later that day....I am elated!!!

That's exactly what I would like to do! I figured we could cover most of Fantasyland and a few other things (which would probably be all my kids were up for!) and then a nice cool lunch, a long break and return later. I hope we get the reservation we would like! My daughters want to dress as princesses for this (well, at least my older one does, the little one will do whatever the older one does!) so I figured I'd pack them in the stroller. But then I got these paranoid notions of "what if someone took the dresses?" - which I know hopefully/most probably wouldn't happen! (I need to stop microplanning and sweating the small stuff! hehe!)

I need to buy dresses too, we have a Belle and Cindy dress but they are just Disney Store Pj's type dress ups...gonna have to bite the bullet for the real thing I guess

If you look around Target has some cute princess dress-up- I think I've seen them in the 14.99-20.00 range- still not cheap- but cheaper than the Halloween princess costumes at the Disney store. Last year we lucked out and I got a Cinderella one from the Disney store after Halloween for around 12.99- which I was happy about- so my one daughter will be wearing that.

You know something strange, is I keep reading how hard CRT is so hard to get ressie for and I tried and got reservations the first time on the day I wanted, I asked for 9 am but got 9:40. Also I heard that it is hard to get a seat fro fantasmic unless you get the dinner package or wait an hour before show time and I walked up minutes before start of the show with a party of 9 and got fantastic seats and this was spring break! I guess I just have alot to be thankful for :cool1: WDW is the only thing I have this good luch with...

Got my CRT res this morning. Not the cut throat situation I was led to believe. I think adding the lunch and it being for an "off" time helped. I also wanted to let people know who are going by the guides that there are now 2 more steps to the proceedure. They ask for your WDW hotel res# or 10 digit tel#, and then they also ask if this is your first visit to WDW. They also have a recording that warns you the CRT res are likely gone, but this is ridiculous-I had my pick of times. Just hold on, and they'll get to you it seems.
Also they tell you to bring a photo ID with your res# because people are stealing CRT reservations (Very, very NAUGHTY!).

I read the same things too, but I decided what the heck and gave it a call today. I got breakfast reservations at Chef Mickey's and CP with no problem and CRT too (but was only able to get table for 4 when I needed one for 6). Thankfully, grandma and grandpa said they would sit out on the CRT (unless I can get lucky and get them in on a cancellation - - WHO KNOWS?)

Forgot to say...my CRT breakfast is for Sept. 6 at 10:15. We like to eat a later (bigger) breakfast and skip lunch usually when we're on vacation, so this worked out great for us.

I just got CRT lunch! If you've read this thread, Diznut84 said that when the opening announcement is on, wait until it's over and press 1 and then 1 again on the phone. That bypasses all the phone number, how often have you been here, etc. nonsense that you have to do.
This is what I did : put up official U.S. time on my computer (www.time.gov), then around 6:58 called number to put it on redial. Kept redialing and hanging up until I heard that they weren't closed, then kept hitting 1 and then 1 again during the welcome message until eventually it takes-then it puts you right through to on hold or hopefully a real person. I did this two days in a row (just testing it out yesterday) and it worked great-the CM told me I was her first call.
In reading this thread it hopefully won't be as cut-throat as it once was to get into the castle considering there are more options now- but I wanted to offer my advice-based on someone else's excellent advice that worked for me!
Good luck !

Stealing? How could you steal a reservation unless you knew the name of a party who already had one? Or are they leaving their list unattended?

I read all the info about "timing" the call just right, but to be honest, I just picked up the phone late yesterday afternoon (around 3:30 p.m. CST, then again at 4:15 p.m. CST and again at 5:30 p.m. CST). I know, calling three times sounds crazy, but I had given the wrong day/date the first time and then on a whim for the third time I wanted to try to get seating for the whole party of us rather than just for 4 of us at CRT. Anyway, when I called, I got a real person every time within a mere minute or so even going through the blah, blah blah of how many times you been there, etc. Even having to change reservation twice - - still got CRT breakfast. Maybe I was just lucky? I chalk it up to Fairy Dust!! I'm thrilled it worked out! Good Luck and happy eating to all of you.

I called this morning and didnt get a rep to answer until 708am and CRT breakfast was already sold out.. but was able to get the lunch at 220p which was the only lunch time available. I'm going on 9/27 so it must be a busy day!! I'm glad I could get anything breakfast or lunch didnt matter to us...We went last November and I could not get in there for breakfast at all...

:cheer2:

I'm glad you were able to get in. Although I'm just guessing, I think that the date factor really does play a part even though it is a popular place nonetheless.

Yeah, it seems pretty crazy to me, but that is what the customer service rep on the phone said. Maybe the person sneaks a peak at the list and just picks a name off it. I hear that's how people crash some parties in Hollywood. Oh the things you learn on trashy "infotainment" TV shows! [/snark]
Strange that the day after I got my res. it was sold out so soon. I'm just glad I only had to have one sleepless night and early morning before getting a res.!

I am trying for lunch on the 29th...calling tomorrow...yikes, sounds like it is busy that week!!

Tried and tried for the past 3 days to get through, get through right at 7:00 each time and I am left holding forever. Finally I called back today at 4:00 and ask for breakfast anytime during our week. Believe it or not, much to my surprise I got an 8:30 on 9/25. Beautiful. I was dreading telling my little ones that it was not going to happen. Just luck, I would think it was a cancellation.

When i click on the tips on the first post it shows nothing, can you guys quickly tell me where to find it? I need it for tomorrow-ugh!
thanks

see page 142, post no. 2117 , that gives you a quick cheat sheet on what to do! Good luck!
