Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

ok so I read a couple of posts about the food - frankly I liked it - but then again I have been on atkins for so long that pigging out on carbs (potatos) was heavenly. frankly after the pictures I gtot they could have been serving gruel and I would still have thought it a an excellent value for all the hassle and money spent - plus we got real lucky...got 8:05 am seating so we got in the park early also.

I totally echo Natalie's Daddy about two things: Atkins & photos!

I finally had success (twice) in securing a priority seating for CRT. With a bone-head move to boot. On Thursday, July 10th, I luckily got a live agent and asked for September 9th. He told me he had space for September 8th, but was too early for the 9th. We were flying down on the 8th. I was confused - I somehow thought Thursday was July 11. I thought- what a bond-head move. Here I had tried for 12 days, two different visits in May of 2001 and December 2002 - to no avail. The agent told me to try again on Friday. Unbelievably, I got through again. I used a regular phone and cell phone - started dialing at 6:55. As soon as I heard a message other than "our office is closed" I hit "1" and shortly the agent picked up. I secured a 9:00 am seating for September 9th. I couldn't believe it. Is September attendance that far down, or has the system changed?

The rest of the story - we were able to attend the CRT breakfast on our December visit - but had some bad luck. I called the priority seating number each morning we were there, and about 2 days before, they found an opening. On our way, first, our 3 year old daughter tripped on the paving stones outside the castle, and bumped her knee - she was upset, but we had her calmed down. But, the next incident is one we will never forget. After we had been seated, around came Mary Poppins. As mom was taking still camera pictures, and dad was doing the video camera, our daughter stood up on the chair, for a better view. Oops, the high back chair and her topple straight back. She hit her head against one of the stone pillars, and had quite the goose-egg. The staff was very helpful getting ice, etc. and a manager came later to ask if she was OK. Needless to say, it was tough to enjoy the breakfast after that.

We are hoping for a better experience in September!

Would someone be so kind as to explain what Storybook Princess is. I see it referred to in this thread and I wanted to book something special for my 2 yr old granddaughter who is so in love with the princesses that we have a hard time getting her princess pajamas off of her in the mornings. She rolls herself in a little ball so we can't get them off of her. Would a 4 yr old little guy like Storybook Princess or would trying to book the breakfast at Cinderella's Castle be a better choice for them both? Thanks.

to start calling for PS for a trip in February 2004. I called yesterday because the PS calculator told me I should call for ps for bbq on 2/2/2003, but the person told me there not booking ps for 2004 yet.
Also i would like to have ps for more than one place do i have to call for each one or when i get in get all at the one time. I seen there is a deposit you have to put down with cc. How do i find out how much the down payment is for each place i wont to have ps's for.
One more thang, do each ps place have a different phone number to call.

This is our first DW trip and also first family vacation of 6 by the way 15, 13, 9 and 5 who will turn 6 while on the trip. Any tips would be very much appreciated. And where on the net could i find t-shirts, i wont to do the matching thang. And also where can i find princess dresses. Lots of question and badly need help thanks. Oh yeah where doing the Land and Sea 4 DW and 3 Sea. Excuse me for not knowing the Disney ling-go can't figure out what some of the the letters mean.

 and  and happy :teeth:

franw...Storybook Princess Breakfast is at Epcot restaurant Akershus in Norway. I believe it's supposed to be a replica of a Norwegian castle. It's definitely a charming setting for a character meal and about 5 princesses can be seen there. If your 2 yr old granddaughter likes princesses, she'll like Storybook.

My son just turned 4 and hasn't objected to going to the princess meals yet, though he has asked for one with Peter Pan or Buzz. It's helped when Prince Phillip or Prince Charming have been at CRT, as I think my son can imagine himself in the role of the prince. He also tends to be a little flirt and loves the attention given to him by the pretty princesses!;)

HTH!

yeah franw - if your 2 year old loves princesses - she will be on cloud nine at the princess breakfast at epcot - norway

I must have done something really right this past week, cause the Disney magic is definately with me.

I kept reading the thread about the illuminations cruise and how you have to call first thing in the am and keep hitting redial, etc, I called last Saturday at 2pm and got a reservation first try for the night I wanted.

I just called the PS number (6pm) and got right thru and have reservations at CRT for the morning I wanted( I forgot to call last week).

We are going to CBR on 0830 and leaving on 090603.

I guess timing is everything.

for crt ressies,do you start calling 120 or 60 days before date you want ressie? i saw 120 somewhere, then 60 somewhere else. i have to get this ressie. this is all my dd keeps talking about!!!:)

for crt you need to call bright and early 7am eastern standard time 60 days prior to the date you want

diffrent restaurants have different timelines... but for cinderelllas breakfast it is 60 days in advance

WOOHOO!!! Thanks for all of the advise. I just got my PS at CRT for 9/19. I swear I must have been the first caller thru because I had a ton of choices for times! Took 8:15am so that we could get in bright and early!!!

Michellemmj - I hope your magic is with me tomorrow! I want the 20th so I will be trying first thing in the AM.Did you call the WDWDINE # or the WDISNEY #?

What is the actually cost to the meals? All the books say dinner is $20.00/$10.00. I realize you have tax and tips added on but how accurate are the prices quoted. I have been to WDW 4 times but never did a character breakfast. I'm taking my grandson in Oct and this is one of the "for sure" things I want to do with him. I don't think he will enjoy Cindy's but it should give me a rough idea of the other character meals.

Thanks
Debbie

I just wanted to say THANKS everyone! I have been lurking here and reading every piece of advise I could find anywhere about how to get ressies for CRT and I GOT IT!!! Let's just say I'm a little compulsive. I made my DH, DM, DF and me get up early to call. I had my cell and home phone, DH cell phone, DM cell phone and DF cell and home phone. I was the only one who got through. Ha ha ha:Pinkbounc We are going a little earlier than I would have liked but I told her anytime so that's what I got. The operator just kinda chuckled when I said "Cindy's breakfast for 5 anytime." She said " You must have gotten hints on how to do this!"
You bettcha! From some of the greatest people around!

YAHOO!!!! I also got it - this morning for the 20th (Sept), 4 people at 8:05. Now - the only question is whether Concierge also gets a ressie for me. If they do, the only question will be which one to cancel. Any truth to the rumor that you get better treatment with concierge ressies?

I will, of course, post here before I cancel to give you all a heads up.

THANKS for the tips!

I had written the tips down(what time to start calling etc) and quizzed my husband to make sure he knew exactly what to say(LOL), and at 6:58 this morning we started calling on 3 phones. we finally go the hold message at 7:01, picked up about 7:04 on DH's phone, and he said quickly"Cindy's breakfast for 4 anytime".
I wanted as late as possible as 9/21 is EE and I wanted to do EE before breakfast, but I wasn't about to be choosy!
I was so happy when he hung up and said we got it for 9:55. Perfection!!
This is the first time I have tried to get ressies for this and I feel so victorious! LOL
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :D

Funny thing. I called today to practice for my big call tomorrow and i got right through no proplem. now with my luck I won't get through tomorrow.

I'm just so excited I got tickets for Cinderellas breakfast today. They are for Sept 24th for my daughters 6th birthday. Whoa hoo.
This is the day I wanted. My husband and I called at the same time nonstop since 6:55 and I got through after 4 minutes on hold and got my 4 tickets and my husband who got picked up after me was told none where left so we got lucky by having 2 people and 2 phones to call. Hopefully people who are reading this terrified as much as I was will have so hope. Just because you don't get picked up right away does not mean you don't get tickets.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :p
