Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

WE ARE IN! I didn't dare hope that we'd get it. My girls are going to be SO surprised when they get their invitations!!:D :D

I tried six times in a row last year to get Cindys. Along with family and friends calling too. We didn't get it. Our DD5 enjoyed breakfast with Minnie Mouse though at the Hollywood & Vine.

This year I figured the same thing would happen. I even forgot to call on friday (our first day, 60 days out).

I set my alarm for 5:55am (Chicago time) and strolled downstairs for the phone. Then I realized I didn't have the phone number ready. I scrambled for it. I called.

The line went through right away (not a good sign, right? We're supposed to be calling BEFORE they open the phone lines!) and I was listening to two Disney songs before a CM picked up.

I blurted out, "Cindy's for three at 9:30!"

I heard her fingers clicking the computer keyboard. I knew there was no way.

"I have the last table available, it's at 8:50am. Would you like it?"

"YES PLEASE!"

Son of a gun! We got it! On the first call! I feel like I paid my dues last year though. I'll do almost anything for my DD6 and I am sure she is going to just love it. Of course, her daddy is gonna get a great pic with Cinderella!!!!!! Might have to have a pic taken with mommy and Prince Charming if he's there too!

So keep trying everyone! Magic happens!:bounce:

From reading these boards, I was almost afraid to even try for breakfast July 31 for our 3 grandaughters but woke early to try anyway. I fell asleep and woke at 7:10 a.m. and almost didn't call but decided to try anyway. Got ressies at 10 a.m., no problem!

Now, I read a post about "can't wait until they receive their invitations". Does someone send invites to that or do you just do it yourself? Thanks

Hi, I think that I posted about invitations - it was a tip that I read to just make up your own. I haven't decided yet how I am going to design them, though, since I have 59 days left! :D

We were at the world in Aug 2002. We went to cindys in the castle. While we were there we had heard that another princess character meal was being done. Here's my question. How do these compare?? I cant imagine a character meal without the castle!!! All info would be great. Ohh and when I booked last year they just asked me what resort we were staying at. Do you now have to hold the ressie with a credit card? Thanks.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Wenlitz-its the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus in Epcot,You will find reviews on theis board, and they are generally very favorable. Also wdwig.com.

Wenlitz...the other new princess character meal is the dinner with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian. For the Cinderella breakfast in MK, they do charge a deposit to your credit card and you must cancel by 24 hrs. out.

The Princess Storybook breakfast is not in *the* castle, but it is in a replica of a Norwegian one. The atmosphere is very nice and we actually liked it better than CRT. For the PSB, your credit card number is taken but not charged. You must cancel by 48hours out.

HTH!

Thanks for all your tip s in getting PSs for CRT. Now that I've got them and our trip is just around the corner.......

I don't want to be late..... what time must I be be parked in the MK parking lot to get to a 9:00 AM PS? Need to walk leisurly...have a three year old.

Thanks.

After forgetting almost everday to call for Cinderella or calling too late. I got up this morning, prepared three phones, practiced calling...I decided to practice one more time at 6:57 am. They were open, I pushed 1 and right away someone answered! I almost fell over! I was so excited I couldn't think. I gave the lady the info (she was less than thrilled to do her job). She asked what time? I said, "I have a choice"? She said 9:25 and I said GREAT! Who knows if that is a good time, I was too excited. She could hardlly contain herself as well (NOT!). I wanted to just say thanks, but she hung up...off to help another excited person. Thanks for the tips. We are going to the Strorybook one day and the Cinderella on the last day. Should be fun and VERY hot!

One small bit of info to add when calling -

It can save a second or two (and every second counts!) if, when the CM answers, you give them your information **in the exact order that they enter it into the form on the computer**.

According to a former DRS CM, the best thing you can say is:

"Good morning. October 23, breakfast at Cinderella Castle at 8:40 or whatever is available, party of 4."

(Yes, even a nice "good morning" will get your call off to a good start!)

That's all the information they need to check for a spot. Anything else will just slow them down. Then, once you're locked in, they can get the rest of the information.

It's been a year or so since I've had to try for a spot in the lottery, but I find that if I just relax, my call goes well. Even if I don't succeed (and so far my batting average has been pretty good), I'm still relaxed, and I can go back to bed until my alarm goes off at 4:45.

Thanks to all the wonderful tips on this board, I got in. No problem. I could hardly sleep, I was so nervous. Both my kids requested this meal, my four year old DD and my ten year old DS!!
On the morning of 6/16, I was up and practiced dialing 407-939-3463 at 6:45, just to hear the message. I used two phones. A land line and a cell phone. I set my clock as directed in the tips. At 6:57 I started dialing, hitting redial. Hitting redial, hitting redial. At 6:58 exactly the message switched over and I immediately hit 0. I wasn't even put on hold, the phone was immediately picked up. "Thank you for calling. My name is Rosa." I said,"Party of four, Cindy's, any time." She said "Early okay?" "That's fine"
"8:10?" "Fine" "8:30???" "Fine!" "Okay, got it."
She took all my information and that was it. The phone I got through on was a cell phone. It seemed like it was faster at redialing than the land line.
Anyways, I am sure that we will have a wonderful time in August.
My princess doesn't know we are going yet, but the little prince does and he is excited!!!! He is probably looking forward to a kiss or two!;)

Yippie I got Cindy's for 8/17!!! Had no problems. I started calling at 6:56 on the atomic clock and got thru at 6:57. My daughter is so excited!!

They used to not open until very close to 7:00 on the dot - are they now consistently opening a couple minutes early?
