My family thinks that I have lost my mind. This forum is a wonderful place to channel all of the Disney energy that I never even knew I had. We brought my children when they were between 8 and 12 years old...only MK at that time, and not much in Orlando (oldest is now 30). DH has not been back since, and I was only in MGM for Super Soap 2 years ago. My, have things changed! The pictures that generous folks share have helped me to visualize all that we can experience, along with sound advice for touring the parks with a child. Thanks to all of you, we now have a broader outlook than we had initially. Going with DD and her DH, along with a SIL. Both DD and SIL (her aunt) have toured all of the parks many times, with SIL visiting several times a year. She goes every year with a family, so she knows the parks pretty well, but we needed a different perspective, as her traveling companion planned the itinerary according to her specific preferences. We are tailoring our trip around the little one, and do not intend to miss any parades or special shows that she would enjoy. We are also taking advice and staying onsite at AKL concierge so that we can feel as though we are not missing anything even if the little one is tired. I am sorry, this post is so long, but I am now feeling comfortable here at the DIS, and today is Deposit Day.... hoe we have no more changes as the TA from Mouseketrips will probably jump ship. Thanks again for sharing.
