what do you think the chances of swimming are at Christmas time? We are going to BW for the first time at Christmas.

Thanks for your input

We have been twice at Christmastime and we have been swimming both times. We went to Typhoon Lagoon this past New Year's Day. Disney really heats the pools up and they are quite comfortable. It can get a little chilly when you get out, though, depending on the weather.

50/50 chance that the weather will be summertime warm. Maybe better than that to at least get a day or two that's warm. But, folks were swimming at night the year I went and it was 25 degrees. They just ran really fast back to the room.

Been twice in Dec. 1st and 2nd weeks warm enough 1st week 2nd week a little cold even for Fla. Still weather is a lot better than NC at that time and it will probably feel absolutely wonderful to yall since your just a little further north of us.

Take swimsuits for sure you never know it can go either way!

Last year we spent 12 days in early december at OKW...we went to the pool every day. The weather was wonderful. low 80's during the day 60's at night. we never had a cool day.

'97 was another story....cool and LOTS of rain, thanks to el nino (sp?)

'99 was another wonderful year, where we enjoyed the pool every day.

we return again this year, and our suits will be packed!

We also spent Christmas in Florida two years in a row, and even though we are from Northern Michigan WE DID NOT SWIM!!! Well, ok, we are wusses, but the temp. was 60--honest to God, 60 degrees--and I swear it was warmer in Michigan with snow on the ground!! I don't know how Florida does that, except a 40 mph wind might be to blame. The lifequards even had winter coats on, and several people offered to buy our winter coats, which we actually wore when I insisted on sitting at the pool. It was miserable weather, too,but I wanted to swim. Then we noticed the lifeguards. We felt so bad for them, because they had to remain at the pool in a rainstorm with 40 mph winds. Finally, we bought coffee for every employee we could find who was working on Christmas. I was feeling very guilty about my complaining about not being able to swim in the pool, when I realized that all those employees had to work on Christmas Day! (besides, it did warm up the following week)

I have to say--I don't usually swim, especially when it is cold out. But after I heard the temperature to which Disney heats the water (92 degrees seems to stick in my mind), we all gave Typhoon Lagoon a whirl on a 60 degree day and it was great!!! It's not great for laying in the sun, but if you want to be in the water, it was tremendously comfortable.
