Christmas Time Question concerning WL and CS

We are going to Disney December 12-21 and I am in the process of deciding between the Wilderness Lodge and Coronado Springs. Of course we would rather stay at WL since it is absolutly gorgeous at Christmas but as of right now there are, of course, no room only special rates. Of course there are none at CS either. So I'm looking at $1700 at CS v/s $2400 at WL. We are AP holders so "IF" AP rates or other specials/codes come out for this time then we definatly could afford WL. Our limit is around $200 per night which we have NEVER EVER PAID!!! Right now CS is around $150 per night I think with WL being around $250 per night. So what are your experiences in December??? I want to book and go ahead and send full payment in.....BUT if/when the discount comes out I want to be able to switch my reservation over to the new rate.

Any experiences?????

I seem to remember that for that time in Dec, WL was going for anywhere from $119-$159 (I am sure those who stayed at WL last year will correct me if I am wrong) with public codes and AP rates. I am very confident that you will be able to see those rates again.

But you have to watch the boards like a hawk, or let DU take care of you, because the good rates for WL for that timeframe, once they are released go VERY fast.

I seem to remember that it was September sometime when all the rates for Dec came out, latter half of the month I think.

Have you checked the historical code info on mousesavers.com?

Codes for this past Dec. came out in July.

Thanks you guys! I actually have checked out the historic dates and they were around the $150 mark.....I am just going to go ahead and sent in the entire payment for our 9 nights and then when the better rates come out I will just switch the reservation and have them transfer the money and leave me a credit for when I check in.

I want to go ahead and send the $2,500 in now when I have the money so I won't be tempted to spend any of it (I'm sure some of you can relate there). Heck if worse comes to worse and I can't find a lower rate at WL when the AP rates come out in September I'm sure I can find a good rate somewhere...LOL!
