Marv, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Just know that her pain and suffering is now over. She will always be with you in your heart.
Thanks Jen. All of those thoughts, and memories and her struggles being over for her were definitely what helped get through everything, and also the thoughts and prayers and support of so many friends and family, including on the DIS.I'm sorry, Marv! Just remember that she's happy - and back to herself - now, and in a better place. That helped me get through my grandma's passing.
The funeral and all the decisions that come with it can be tough. I hope you and your dad are able to do it without too much stress. Make it a time to remember all the funny and amazing things she did - it'll be easier to deal with. We'll continue to pray for you, and for your dad, that you find peace in knowing that your mom is at peace.

Thanks so much! I am also sorry to hear of your Father's passing. It is indeed a tough time, and also a time of relief that her struggles are behind her. When are you going on your trip in December? We will be there a few days after Christmas through New Years. So sorry for your loss. My father just passed away 3wks ago and I know exactly what you are going through. I am so sad for my Mom and she misses him so much as I am sure your Dad will miss your Mom. We were thinking of taking the kids to Disney in Sept or October but with the death of my father we decided to hold off until December. Hopefully a trip to Disney will help with the Christmas spirit this year.
Take it one day at a time and just try to remember all the good times you had with your Mom.

Thanks so much Magdalene! The fact that my Mom is in a better place now, and free of her earthly burdens is what made it easier to get through her loss. That, and all the thoughts and prayers from a lot of wonderful people.Marvin, I just read your posts now (I was on vacation and away from the DIS). I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I am sending prayers for her and your family, especially for your father. I understand how difficult it must be for him to be on his own after such a long time together.
My grandmother had Alzheimer's as well and I understand how sad it is to see a persons personality vanishing due to that disease. I hope it can be some comfort for you to know that your mother is at a better place now and that she isn't suffering anymore.![]()
And then it will only require two credits for dinner, not for lunch.

I neglected to give you a suitableHopefully a trip to Disney will help with the Christmas spirit this year.

KATODAYO! I'm hoping our December trip will also help with the Christmas spirit! Thanks so much! Yes, we had a lot of conversations and laughs about so many great memories with my Mom!I'm finally up to speed.
I'm so sorry for you and your family. Your mother is in a better place but I know it will be very hard for your Dad. My thoughts and prayers will be you and your family. Death is never easy. I hope your Dad's memories of the good times before your Mom took ill help to ease his pain.
Those definitely helped us get through the past few days. She will be missed, but there are so many wonderful memories that will keep us smiling and laughing like she always did.Marvin, I have some good news for you: It appears that the Le Cellier rumor was partly true, BUT it won't switch over to two credits until March 1st!And then it will only require two credits for dinner, not for lunch.
So your Le Cellier meal for your Christmas trip ought to work out!![]()
That's great news Magdalene! I hadn't heard that yet. I thought it would be odd that they could make that change when people already had ADRs. I figured they would have to put it out in the future some time so people would know of the change when they booked it. Once again, Disney did the right thing I think!Marvin, I have some good news for you: It appears that the Le Cellier rumor was partly true, BUT it won't switch over to two credits until March 1st!And then it will only require two credits for dinner, not for lunch.

Yeah, will have to file that info away for the future. I've got a feeling lunch ressies are going to get a lot more difficult to book in the future!Oh, good - that way I can still go at lunch whenever we get down there again!![]()

It is a far cry from having my typewriter, some white out, and a slide rule (just kidding, but a basic calculator was all you needed then.
)
At least there was a little bit of money in the budget this year from the school system to cover some of the supplies for the teachers and we'll get a little of that back.
We hate to move during our DVC stays because we feel like it just takes too much time away from what we are there to enjoy, and is too much of a hassle unpacking, packing, and unpacking again.
It may not end up being our final choice, but for now we have a place that will hold all 5 of us if DS21 does eventually get to go with us. As we get closer to the trip, if it looks like he won't be able to go, I may try and see if OKW is available and move our reservation there for a change of pace and the larger space in the 1-BDR.
Of course, I need to refocus on this trip and start firming up all the plans so we get the most out of it, just in case it is our last for a while with all five of us together!!!
I'd like to try out other resorts too, but with 5 in our family it's going to cost us a lot more points-wise to go to a 2-bedroom.Just an FYI about rooms and sizes and 5 instead of 4. When we did our first "official" DVC trip to WDW in 2008, by the time I called there were only a couple choices available for our dates. One of those was OKW. I explained to MS that we had 5 people in our group and she informed me that we could put 5 people in a 1-BR at OKW, but we would have to take care of the bedding ourselves. I took a cot for DS13 (11 at the time) to sleep on, but he didn't want to use it. Instead, he took the cushions off the couch, lined them up on the floor, and slept on those. There was plenty of space. How awesome must it be to have two trips in the pipeline?!
I wish Disney would put sleeper chairs in all of the DVC resorts that don't already have them and increase the occupancy by 1. If someone reads your post who doesn't know the occupancy levels of the resorts they'd get confused when you say if your son doesn't come (ie. you have 4 people instead of 5) you may change to OKW to get a bigger suite. But yep, that's the case....bigger suite, lower occupancy.I'd like to try out other resorts too, but with 5 in our family it's going to cost us a lot more points-wise to go to a 2-bedroom.

I don't think the DIS allows enough posts in any given thread to give Glenn all the advice he needs..........sweet on the new trip plans, and hopefully glenn learned something from you.
we all know he needs some advice every now and then.
