(Christmas) Lights, Decorations, Action…..A Post-Christmas PTR (update 12/22-page 42)

Yeah for getting the vacation days! Sounds like a much more relaxed set-up this way. :thumbsup2
Yes, a lot less stress on the front end. With the drive being split over two days, I would have probably been going crazy trying to speed everyone up so we could get there on schedule. :scared1: This way, we can get up at a decent time on Tuesday, make the drive and still get some stuff done that day. Then the next morning we will only be about a 1-2 mile drive from Kidani. I was worried about getting everyone going on time to make our Dinner ADR.....don't think that will be a problem now.:woohoo:
Yeah for your trip getting closer and adding an extra day!

We're starting to talk about taking a trip next year at the same time.
Cool. I'll try to give you lots of info to help with your planning! :thumbsup2
Glad to hear you were able to swap your days. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I'm going to enjoy following yours and Tim's TR reports since mine is at an end (I think you may have missed an update); I still have a final wrap up and a "hat" contest, but other than that it is done.
I expect you and Rosie to look out for my interests around here while I'm gone..... :rotfl2: I had actually read your updates already, but ran out of time to respond when my internet started acting up again. I had marked some multiquotes, but when I hit reply, it just froze up on me, so I had to close the window and try again later. Comments have been added now!

BTW, thanks again for all your "help!" ;)
I KNEW it! :sad2:

Oh, I'm sure Rosie and I will think of something to do while you are gone.:laughing::laughing:

I'm so glad our thing worked out and it showed up on time, etc. :)

It's December :santa: & your trip is closer!!!
Congrats on 4 weeks to go! :woohoo:
Thanks! It is starting to get close enough now that I can start to get excited about it! :woohoo: Still a lot to do between now and then, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I don't think it's a train! :rotfl2:

That is the great part about our band of DISers around here, we have our playful side, but we all know when to be serious too......and yes, even me! :rotfl:

Hey, Google is my friend too!!! Didn't I use all those other terms correctly???:confused3

I know it has multiple connotations, but I think I know which one you intend for me. I think you are at least partially justified in your reference....... :rolleyes1

You know, I was wondering why you suddenly adopted a different style, but nearly all of these words were familiar to me, so it didn't dawn to me until now that you were trying to be British!! I think you ought to have tried to use the word "posh" in your answer! For me, that is the quintessential British term... :goodvibes

Cheeky Monkey is basically a "Smart Alec!!!!" and i think we both fit that definition!!!:rotfl2:I have usually heard and used it as a friendly expression !!I was kinda surprised at some of the definitions !!:lmao:It was fun looking at the different British words with the American translation !!Let me tell you I raised a few eyebrows when I first came over here and hadn't yet mastered the subtle differences :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I was expecting more comments from Rosie about my usage of those words/phrases. I guess maybe she didn't comment for the same reason. How funny you related so well to them too!

Since there are multiple uses of the word posh, at least per Google search, I assume you mean "high class." Just WHERE in this whole conversation do you think I could EVER work that into the conversation???? :rotfl2: Any other usage of the word I would save for your thread so I can keep mine family friendly!!! ;)

ALEC huh???

Flippant, carefree, humorous........any of those would probably work.........describing YOU!!! :lmao:

Yes, I particularly loved the ones that would make Brits snicker at us, like our frequent use of "Pardon Me" and "Excuse Me!" Plus there are an inordinate amount of different terms for the same "things." :rolleyes1 Kinda tells you where the British minds are often centered I guess! ;)

The funny thing to me was how many of the phrases/terms I saw that I have actually used before (learned from family) and with the same connotation. I guess there are many things that we as Americans have adopted from our ancestors. To me they would be considered "old English."

I still have a few ready to use at the appropriate time.

Sometimes I completely forget what is American and what is British I gues that makes me Bi Lingual as I slip from one to the other without a thought:rotfl2:

So if I said I was going to have a Sunday Joint !!You would know what I meant or would goole be your friend :lmao:

Actually Marv has the perfect sense of humor to fit in with my family!!!! As those members who do not have it say "WARPED"!! We thrive on picking up on innocent remarks and making rude comments !!!:rotfl2:

Hi Marvin, I know that you are on the DDP during your December trip, but I just came across this fantastic 30% off counter service coupon which is available at the Disney Parks Blog. This might come in handy for your group!
Thanks Magdalene! I will definitely check that out. With three boys I'm not sure the DDP will be enough for a couple of them anyway! I also planned to get the TIW card in case we decide to get any drinks :rolleyes1 or extra food! We might not use it much this trip, but it will still be good in June.

Hope you feel better for tomorrow's festivities!

Did you also know that most English school kids bring a "Rubber" to school everyday!!!:rotfl2:

I knew... :goodvibes This reminds of the quiz at the UK pavillion in Epcot. I think it was in the shop which is to the right of the tea cottage. There was a little black board which had all kind of terms which you had to translate from British English to American English (or the other way around?).

Well, at least SOME on here are helpful!!! :rolleyes1 Shouldn't be a surprise that Magdalene would be one of them.:thumbsup2
I figured you wood think I was "ON" something !!
I've always suspected you were ON something Rosie, so it really doesn't surprise me you would have a Sunday joint since you may very well have started your day with a Scotch!:sad2:
But I am sure you have googled the actual meaning !! Did you also know that most English school kids bring a "Rubber" to school everyday!!!:rotfl2:
I didn't until now! I guess the British school system is a lot more progressive than our U.S. counterpart... ;)

Guess I should continue my British "education" here on the DIS and see how well I can do on that quiz when I get there.
It seems quite funny..;)
:welcome: lemonhedo!!! Great to have you joining in on the conversation!
