(Christmas) Lights, Decorations, Action…..A Post-Christmas PTR (update 12/22-page 42)

Hi Marvin, I came across some information which might be of interest of you when planning your trips! The first is a link to the June hours:

And the second is that I read on wdwmagic that the December hours have been extended.

Hope this is of some help with your planning purposes!! :goodvibes

Thanks for the heads up Magdalene!!! :woohoo: I hadn't even spent any time yet on June, so this is a first look for me. Love the format they have that in! :thumbsup2

I have been checking December/January hours fairly regularly, but haven't looked in a few days, so I will have to see if there are any new changes that might impact us. I try to keep my spreadsheets up to date as I see any new revisions to hours and shows and such. :)

Hi, Marv. I miss you; I've just been super swamped at work, but I do check in for updates on my favorite people's threads. :)

I know so many of you will be busy with family and friends over the next few days, and things will probably get very hectic with travel and preparations, so I wanted to just wish each of you an early Very Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I hope while all of you are taking the time to enjoy all of the blessings in your life and reflect on how thankful you are for those, that you will also take the time to remember those who are hurting and feel little to be thankful for!!!

When DW decided to go back to school and get her teacher's certification, she spent a few years working at a Christian Academy. She became very close to some of her fellow teachers there. DW and three of the other teachers decided to go through a local Masters in Education program together, and were in study/project groups together during that time, all earning their Masters degrees together. One of the ladies had had breast cancer which was in remission, but it recently returned. DW heard about a week or so ago they had given her 5 to 7 months to live. Well, she didn't make it nearly that long, and passed away a couple nights ago. :sad1:

Please remember this family in your thoughts and prayers over the holiday, and count the many blessings in your life. Treasure the time you have together with family and friends!!! :grouphug: None of us are promised tomorrow, so let us all appreciate each special moment we have together!

And to all my DISfriends, I just want to make sure I have told you recently how thankful I am for each of you, and how much I love you all!!!! You are certainly a very special part of my life!!!

Missed you too Kathy!!! I sent you a PM yesterday. Believe it or not, I finally got an email response today, exactly 1 week and 1 hour since I asked for some feedback from them. I believe I have pretty much made a decision what I want to do, so I will send you another PM maybe tonight and see if you want to join in, or do something yourself!

Marv, I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers. This is one of my worse fears being a breast cancer survivor. :sad2:

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well. I hope you know despite all of the ribbing that I love you too.

I will watch for your PM and yes, I'd like to go in with you. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too!

I'm so sorry to hear the sad new about your DW's friend. This is such a hard time of the year to loose loved ones. I will say prayers for her family.

Awww, you are so sweet!

I am very sorry about your wife's friend. I have prayed for her family. Such a tough thing for her family to go through anytime, but especially during the holidays.

Congratulations on your win Saturday!

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes, and your thoughts and prayers for DW's friend and her family!!! :thumbsup2

On a more cheerful note, I was able to swap my Christmas holidays from pre-Christmas to the Monday and Tuesday after Christmas, so it looks like we will be arriving at Disney late afternoon/early evening on Tuesday instead of Wednesday afternoon!!! That means we can head into one of the parks on Tuesday evening, and at least take care of getting our APs issued, etc. Short hop the next morning from our off-site hotel to Kidani, and lots more time in Epcot the first day!!! :woohoo:

Found a hotel room last night for that Tuesday night, but rates were much higher, and a lot more unavailable hotels than I expected. Thankfully we will be doing that stay on frequent traveler points, so no OOP for the extra night!! :goodvibes Was worried that maybe the crowds at Disney were going to be much higher until I realized this morning that the Champs Sports Bowl is being played in Orlando that Tuesday, so I'm sure that is affecting demand. Glad we have some good touring plans in case a lot of those fans actually decide to take in Disney while they are there!!!

:yay: for an extra day to get administrative stuff out of the way and get down to some serious park touring!

Yeah thanks! I was originally looking at arriving Wed afternoon, and after getting checked in and handling all the admin stuff, probably only getting to do our dinner ADR and take in the Candlelight Processional, plus maybe checking out the decorations. Now we might even be able to get a few FP sets for later in the day (can I dare to dream there will still be some left for Soarin'?), catch a couple rides, and see some of the Storytellers in WS! :woohoo: It also allows us to leave after the CP so we are rested up for rope drop on Thursday morning at MK.

Yeah for getting the vacation days! Sounds like a much more relaxed set-up this way. :thumbsup2

:woohoo: Four weeks from today we check in at Kidani!!!!!

Glad to hear you were able to swap your days. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I'm going to enjoy following yours and Tim's TR reports since mine is at an end (I think you may have missed an update); I still have a final wrap up and a "hat" contest, but other than that it is done.

Yeah for your trip getting closer and adding an extra day!

We're starting to talk about taking a trip next year at the same time.
