Good Morning Kathy! Yep, we leave in 18 days!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: Lot's to get done this weekend to make sure plans are getting finalized and we are ready to roll.

18 days?? Wow - I'm jealous. I was excited because, according to my ticker, I am less than a month away from being able to switch my DVC reservations to a non-home resort....and then I will still be 7 months from Disney. Baby steps....

:woohoo: on having another trip planned to be able to switch at 7 months!!!

I got to make that change a short while ago for our trip next June! Made the switch from AKV to OKW. The CM at MS asked me why I was changing? I told her that since they are doing the refurbs at OKW and adding the sleeper chair so a 1BR will now sleep 5, and our last trip and upcoming trip we stayed or will stay at AKV, we just wanted a change of scenery! Plus an extra bonus.......1 LESS point used for the same stay!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Now hopefully DS21 will be able to join us for that trip so we still have 5 to sleep! :confused3

How soon until you know Marv? Could it be a last-minute thing?
It will pretty much be a last minute thing. He will get his commission into the Navy around the time he graduates. Not sure if he might get it the week before, or they will hand it to him right after he gets his diploma. :confused3 That will be sometime the first few days of May. Then it will be a case of when he has to actually report for duty. At best, we should know about a month before the trip I would guess! :rolleyes1

You will be driving, won't you? That makes it much easier with the short notice thing than if you had to get plane tickets. How long of a drive is it from your home?

Yes Magdalene, we pretty much always drive. It is interstate most of the drive. The estimated driving time is between 8 and 8-1/2 hours, but with stops for gas, food, and potty breaks, I usually plan about 9-1/2 hours for the trip. Driving does allow a good bit of flexibility to our plans.

Well, looks like he is now eligible for SOG sometime! You can all stay as long as he is there. The pools aren't so great but the rooms are HUGE, and price is determined by rank - very cheap even at the higher ups. You get Disney resort privileges, also. You have to reserve several months in advance, but they offer overflow rates at Disney resorts when they are full!:thumbsup2 You can walk across the street to the Poly and catch the monorail there, or use their bus system, which runs on a time schedule, and is always on time!

Rosie! :scared1: I'm glad you're okay! What a fiasco!
:thumbsup2 on the download!!!

Thank you I'm fine I wasn't hurt !! Being called some pretty BAD names is quite common but being attacked is very rare !!;)It's all part of the job and we are trained how to control those situations !! But the techniques taught in a classroom and the actuality of flailing arms legs etc are not the same :laughing:I prefer to difuse the situation before it gets out of hand but this time there was NO time !!

Glad you're okay Rosie! Without you, I wouldn't have anyone to pick on me......... :rolleyes1

Well, it has always been in her signature: "Self Appointed Team Focker Watch Computor Whiz"

Of course, I am not really sure what a computor is... might be something enterily different from a computer.

Rosie, I'm glad you are okay too. And, Marv, if Rosie couldn't pick on you, I'd pick up the slack for her. :lmao::lmao::lmao:
Just what WOULD I do without you women folk to keep me straight???? :confused3 :rolleyes1

Be pretty bored, probably! :rotfl:

It is actually a computer that Dan gave her a few years ago!!! ;)

BTW Magdalene, I went back and looked at my trip planning program. From my Dad's house, where we will leave from following our Christmas visit, it is showing about 7 hours and 20 minutes driving time to our hotel in Orlando!! From there, we are about 5 minutes drive for our check-in the next morning at Kidani!!! :woohoo: I'm anticipating about 5 extra hours in Epcot that Wednesday over my original schedule! :goodvibes

I gues I forgot SPELL CHECK!!!:rotfl2: Now Magdalena is getting in on the Act!! Marv what have you done ??? You are corrupting our international Dissers !!!:rotfl2:

Jst for the fun of it, I checked on Google and realized that it is only 6 hours 35 minutes drive time from my house to Disneyland Paris... Wow! Katharina and I did this drive once, but I still prefer to fly. I think with our gas prices here in Europe it is even cheaper to fly (kerosin for airplanes does not have a tax, but gas for cars has a very high tax, don't ask how sensible this is...).

5 extra hours at Epcot sound great! I just saw this morning on wdwmagic that Epcot hours have been extended as well for the week after Christmas, especially in the mornings. They open at 8 am every morning and the WS also opens at 10am then - more time for you to spend there checking out the different story tellers!
