We are wanting to do a trip to see the holidays at the parks. I can see that in 2014 the first MVMCP was Nov 7 and osbourne lights start date was the same.
Is there any reason to suspect they would not start as early this year?
Is there anything we would miss by visiting in November (likely avoiding Thanksgiving) rather than December?
We would be in Orlando for 2 weeks.

The resorts that have more elaborate displays tend to take a bit longer, but the parks are decorated fairly quickly. I had friends that went with me the week after T-giving three years ago, and they went the week before this year to snag a deal and they said pretty much they saw everything they wanted to see.

Everything is completed by T-giving week.

Ok stuff like the Jingle cruise will have opened but the Gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian maybe not unless we pass thanksgiving?
When does Santa start meeting? And the characters in their costumes?

candlelight processionals and epcot storytellers are after thanksgiving. some of the big lobby trees at the resort are not up until the week of thanksgiving.

but most of the decorations are up by the week before thanksgiving (including usually the gingerbread house at the GF), and the weather is often a little warmer. crowd levels might be slightly smaller the week before thanksgiving. it's a nice time to go but you do lose a few things...

The only thing you will be missing is Candlelight Processional at Epcot. I believe that starts around December 1st. We usually go the week before Thanksgiving, and all decorations at the resorts are up by mid-week. We've seen both WL and AKL's trees that week. Jingle Cruise starts with MVMCP. Santa was at DTD and Santa Goofy was at DHS during Osborne Lights the whole time we were there.

The Candlelight Processional and the Holiday Storytellers start the day after Thanksgiving, which would be November 27th this year.

Thanks for the date. In other words, CLP always starts after Thanksgiving for planning purposes.
