Road turkey with all the sides... stuffing, roast potatoes, bread sauce, gravy, parsnips, peas, carrots, swede...
LOL -- How do you know you'll find one, or will you make do with anything you find on the street?
All of you guys talking about egg bakes/casseroles - are we talking quiche, strata, fritata or am I missing another delicious way to conduct eggs and other stuff into my mouth? Because I love trying new savory breakfast recipes.

Love mince pies. Saving those for New Years.Oh, and Mince Pies and Christmas Pudding soaked in brandy and set alight!
Mine's a strata -- white bread cubes, egg, milk, sausage or bacon (kids like bacon), cheese, salt, pepper and dry mustard.
Mine's a strata -- white bread cubes, egg, milk, sausage or bacon (kids like bacon), cheese, salt, pepper and dry mustard. I only make it once a year (they got pretty indignant when I made it in the middle of the year one time!), so they look forward to it.
ETA: It's also great because you put it together the night before, and take it out. I bake it while they open gifts. Needs 15 minutes to set, so that's when I put the cinnamon rolls in (make those the night before as well).
My recipe is pretty similar as well - we also make this for a sweet option: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/21466/oven-baked-caramel-french-toast/
Here too. I use Poppin' Fresh and bake them in the shape of a tree, then tint the icing green and throw some sprinkles on. I am not ashamed.
(Not quite sure why that product is still on the shelves when I'm the only person in the world that admits to using it!)
I would LOVE to make something else, like one with hashbrowns, etc. But the kids (well, they're 18 and 24, now) won't let me. Sigh and LOL.

I was talking to DH the other day about what we would do Christmas morning with it just being me and him. And I said, I think I will make some sticky buns and scones instead of cinnamon rolls for our coffee and then more of a brunch a little later. He started talking about the breakfast casserole (its the bread, egg, sausage and cheese one). I said, "uhmm you do realize that makes enough to feed us and all the kids twice, right?" "BUT, its TRADITION" was my answer. He will not budge. So I guess we will have it Christmas morning, and each morning there after. lol.
You misunderstand - I end up having to make both each year (the same two dishes). Same thing as you - I'd catch all kinds of crap if I switched up things (from my wife too)
It's so weird about traditions. My daughter, since her first Christmas at 6 months old, has had a really crappy cheap Walmart stocking that I put her name on with glitter glue. She's 18. I wanted to get her a new stocking this year, and she refused, saying, "There's good memories in that stocking!"I was talking to DH the other day about what we would do Christmas morning with it just being me and him. How about just halving the recipe? I've made those casseroles many times; it's totally easy to adjust the portions up or down.Thank you. This is the recipe I use. I thought it sounded awful until we tried it - works really well with ham. It's a Paula Deen recipe so packed with butter and sugar.
