What are you having? It's my turn to cook this year and I'm making a standing rib roast.... got the recipe off of the Food Network from the Good Eats Show..... I've watch Alton make this every chance I get and I gotta try to make it! With it we'll have mashed potato, peas, homemade rolls and tossed salad.

We will have BBQ ribs! It is kind of a tradition around here!

We have our big Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. We started doing it on Christmas day when we were first married but then I was spending too much time in the kitchen instead of enjoying the day. Now we pig out on Christmas Eve and warm up leftovers the next day! I fix turkey, pies and a bunch of other stuff to go with it.

i was going to make goose for Christmas Dinner but everyone vetoed...so now i'm making turkey....

I am having "Thanksgiving" dinner complete with pumpkin pie...:D
Christmas Eve we are going to SIL and our tradition is just to have appetizers so we all can snack, open gifts and visit.

Yum yum...can't wait!

It has to be ham dinner for DH. The rest of us would enjoy either that or turkey. Probably sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry relish, rolls and pie or cake for dessert. Usually the kids bring something extra also.:D

I LOVE Alton Brown! Let us know how it turned out!
At my moms I'm having Thanksgiving finner, but at MIL it will be 'grazing' on appetizers.

Christmas Eve I'll make Tiramisu, that's a tradition. And we definitely have to have caviar on cream-cheese. Other than that I'm still undecided, maybe crab or lobster newburg. I want something that's special but not too time consuming. Christmas Day I think I'll make a roast.

I make an antipasto...DH makes the rest. :teeth: I think he'll probably make a ham.

Christmas Eve we would all get together and have homemade tamales, rice, & beans... that was so traditional for us (my mouth waters just thinking of it) ... and Christmas Day was always turkey.

This year, we'll been in Texas again, and will probably have brisket on Christmas Eve, and turkey on Christmas Day.... ahhh, but I still miss my mom's cooking. :)

We'll be eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe!

I know you all feel sorry for me since I don't get to cook!:p

Well I am cooking xmas eve dinner. All seafood probably
A seafood salad
Fried Shrimp
Stuffed Clams
Linguini and Mussels
Baccala
Stone Crabs
and maybe some lobster :teeth:

I believe we're going to try a fried turkey this year. I think I'm gonna be the one cooking it.

I'll make green bean casserole, hashbrown casserole, devilled eggs, homemade chocolate cake, checkerboard cake, and probably another pie or 2. My mom will make homemade rolls, dressing, jarred gravy for me and my ds, homemade gravy for everyone else that wants it, cranberry sauce, corn, mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. My sil will probably bring a casserole or 2, some of her homemade rolls, and a salad. My mom might have a tiny ham too.

We're having Christmas on Christmas Eve, I think. I've heard the 22nd and the 24th. My brother is a nurse and has to work on Christmas day.

Ham and all the fixins

which hashbrown casserole do you make?

I use the one like Cracker Barrel's that I got off of copykat.com, Robin.:) I think it's the 2nd or 3rd version they have. I adlib though. Instead of slicing onions and peppers, I use Oreida's O'Brien potatoes instead.:teeth:
