My family and I have reservations on the December 21, 2002 Magic cruise. This will be our fourth cruise on the Magic. We were wondering if there will be any different activities to celebrate the holiday. We thought maybe special meals, shows, religous services, etc? If anyone has been on a cruise on Christmas please help us out. Thanks.

Hi and Welcome!

I won't know until this December if they will do anything special during our 3 night land/4 night sea cruise (12/12 -12/19). I have heard that they have decorations up around the same time that WDW does and the Christmas cruise has a Santa and traditional (whatever that means!) meal.

I really envy you going on 12/21! Maybe next year we will try the Christmas cruise and you can tell us all about it!

Happy Sailing!

Ok Dave can you expand a little....we aren't going until December 2003 but I am getting ready to send an invite to all my brothers and sisters to see if they would like to bring their families and it might be fun to tell them what to expect. My daughter and I have been on the Eastern and Western but both times right after the 4th of July so it was just a typical, if Disney can be considered typical, cruise.

Thanks!

Special activities? Yes.
There are definitely holiday-themed activities added to the regular programming such as gingerbread house making or visits from Santa Claus. (Actually, I think it's a visit from Goofy in a Santa outfit.)

Special meals? Yes.
They'll definitely modify the menu to offer traditional Christmas dinner items on Christmas Day.

Different shows? No.
The main theatre entertainment offerings are pretty much set.

Religious services? Yes.
According to the DCL web site...

They no longer specify which religious holidays, but they used to, and Christmas was definitely one of them.
