BIL just sent postcard from Stone Harbor...Tiggy, I wanna be w/ you! :cool1:
Karen, Aisling...aw, screw the weight thing. I've been trying to lose weight for 10 years. I have here & there (I noticed a chin has disappeared from pics a few years ago!), but it's still me. Scale hasn't budged, but when I tried clothes last week my tight size is not so tight...so apparently muscle does weigh more than fat! It has given me incentive to keep working out! I was gonna be skinny for my reunion last summer...Stone Harbor last summer...Chicago w/ the girls last fall...cruise last fall...swimsuit season 2005...well, still shooting for Dec. cruise! Oh, well, I am healthy & I'm gonna have a good time no matter what!! Right girls??!!
Nan--DH & I know about divorce. We both had short lived marriages before finding each other. Married at 29...would go through it all again to meet this wonderful man! But gotta be harder after 20 years and kids...feel bad :guilty:
FIL is upbeat. Cannot find it anywhere else yet. Having colonoscopy & upper GI today, and then basically they have checked it all. I'm betting they find somthing there. They said it is stage 4 & the radiation is basically for the pain. He is experiencing relief after only 2 sessions--a new man for that.
We'll just keep praying. Gotta live like you were dying! Seems like everyone has had time to digest all this...no one is giving up or crawling under a stone!
Grim...I am a bit PARANOID about the passport thing. Read the article in the Detroit Free Press w/ interview w/ head passport guy. He said will need passports by end of 2006...go to www.travel.state.gov and the timeline is gone (I can find the timeline if I backdoor through links on the dis threads. It is weird because it still says the current date...so that is weirding me out.)But if you go directly to the site, no timeline anymore. If you click on link for those traveling to Caribbean, it says 1/1/2008. Guess if it is on the government site it is correct...I wish I could call the official and get the FIRM word. Goodness knows the TAs and cruise lines have all been giving different messages to passengers...I don't expect that to change! Guess could call DCL direct to corfirm! Maybe wait a couple of weeks so the infor can get to all the right places. Was talking to a neighbor last night who said her bro went to something Maya (not Costa...something else) in MX, he did not get a passport (didn't NEED one, I do know that). Someone at Denver International claimed he needed one! He just filled out a form and got there...but see how there is false info going around! Guess we could always get passports after school one day if we found we really need them...we do have a little margin for error yet!
Well, gotta run to Jazzercise!
Bye!
Kris

Kris, it seems that your FIL is surrounded by positive and calm people. That's not easy, and I'm happy to see situations handled like that whenever possible. He's in my prayers. :sunny:

About the passports, I know I mentioned this before, but we just went ahead and got them. Wasn't cheap, but I feel better having them. You never know. I feel secure having this proof of citizenship. 9/11 scared me a lot, and I just like to know that we can jump on a plane to Tazmania anytime we want to if something happens. I'm going to post this now before I lose the post with my bad laptop! :badpc:

thanks Aisling...nice to know someone else thinks I'm silly tooo :rotfl:

 Hey Fellow Christmas Cruisers!

Yeah...we're back...

~It was a great two weeks-I'd move to the NC coast in a heartbeat if DH asked me~

I uploaded the family pics-I have three times as many scenic stuff I'll add in tomorrow.

Click the link below for my new slideshow :teeth:

http://photobucket.com/albums/a42/M...rent=scan0017.jpg&slideshow=paused&interval=3

I haven't had the opportunity to read the DIS til today-I'm back on page 110!

I'm catching up and taking notes, gotta keep my post count up eh? ;)

It'll take me a bit longer to really get back into my groove so bear with me my friends, I'll be-a-lurkin princess:

Glad you're home safely Tigg. Hi to the family from me :)

Nan

P.S. We are out the door to the San Mateo County Fair to see Smash Mouth....I'll fill ya in tomorrow....

Kristen sorry for your news. My thoughts are with you.
Tig welcome back. It was quiet without you! You take amazing pictures. But more important where, oh where did you get that tye-dyed Mickey tee? My DH would give his right arm for something like that.
Aisling DH can name that episode within 5 notes of the opening music for TOS! Ever watch Boston Legal? William Shatner is hysterical.

Thanks everyone for your comforting words. This thread has brightened my spirits on more than one occasion. First, you all write SO well and second I DO feel I know you all and haven't yet met face to face!

I saw the picture of DD & Horse and read DD "with" prom date
I had to go back and see what I wrote!!! :rotfl2:

...your DD is a doll!
Thanks! I'll keep her.

That's so cool that your daughter has a horse! I want one really bad...but my parents say no. Oh well
It's not really hers! Her grandmother owned the horse but sold her very recently! Than made us :sad1:.

The reason we took this specific picture is because there is a set of pins with the princesses and all of their horses (except Jasmine is with her tiger) and we plan to frame ALL of the princesses together with our princess:! We did this with a Main Street Transportation pin and a picture of DD driving the horse-drawn trolley down Main Street. They really let her steer the horse and everything!!!

I am still not sure what to do about the passports. My sister is going to get them, but she needed them for herself and her daughter anyway. My SIL is not going to if she doesn't have to. If I don't have to put out the $, I certain don't want to either.

{{{{{{{{{Tiggie!!!}}}}}}}}}}} Welcome home, pal! Your photos are wonderful, as usual. And what may I ask were you doing with MY Rolling Mickey Cooler?? :rotfl: Truly, you guys had a ball, I can see that. The house looked really complete, with the pool, hot tub, pool table, lots of room, so clean, the ocean right there...tell Rose she done good!

DH can name that episode within 5 notes of the opening music for TOS!
Karen, tell Dom I'll meet him on deck 4 sometime with a cool drink and we can go into a ST trivia frenzy!
I can't wait to do the onboard gameshows, like the Newlywed Game thingy, and the Disney trivia, and what else? So much, I can't even remember! I'll try to stay away from Bingo, because it's $$$$, but I'll probably go for it just to say I did!

Today I was at JFK dropping off a friend, and I got butterflies in my stomach. Just the smell of the jet fuel got my heart racing. OMG I just cannot wait!
Better post this before I get the boot again! :badpc:

Welcome back Tig!

Nic pics - I especially like this one:

Thanks for all the thoughts! We are all praying for a miracle.
Tiggy--welcome! Your pics look just like Stone Harbor! I wanna go back!
Well, enjoying last week of vaca...weather is cooperating...trying to get up a bit earlier each day...I am SO not a morning person!
Jack's daycare provider finally opened her daycare center today! (was in her home). It has been a challenge laden project. She had 60 kids ready to start June 1st...lost all but 14 ...but she did a top notch job. Quite a facility. License lady assured her she would be full by Dec. Jack was SOOO excited!
He was at a large center as a baby, but has been w/ Dawn since he was one. So this is all new to him and he is thrilled! She put in 2 huge climbing structures, and even Marcus & Hailey were jealous! But this is good. We have always had home daycare providers that were former teachers, except that one year (and it had a phenomenal baby room--unusual in a large center). But since Jack is almost 5, it will be a nice transition to Kindergarten next fall.
He turns 5 Sept. 1--I think he needs a bit of maturng before he starts.
Well, gotta go enjoy this day!
Kris

Sorry, grim!
Let me rephrase..."Morning Xmas Cruisers!"
Kris
Won't let me use smilies! Rats!
And why is the board so slow...ran anti-virus last night cuz I thought it was my computer!

Okay, I can't find this pic in your bucket Tigg....please post, as I think you might have MY rolling cart with you :rotfl2:

Have to run out now, but I leave you with this....we saw not only Smash Mouth (back stage) but a certain person who lives in Santa Cruz from a certain famous island show.....Survivor Lex was there....got great pics...Tigg...I think we need to talk....I have to learn how to do this myself....if you are home tonight can you walk me thru it???? What time should I call ya?

Later,

Nan

p.s. I'm going to the post office right now!..... :earseek: :cool1:  :rotfl2:

Hey Nan! Sounds like a great time!

I usually go to bed around midnight so call me anytime up to 9pm your time...

The cooler is on one of the first beach shots, on my mickey towel next to my friend Ed...I'll come back in a minute and post it for ya-I'm loading all my scenic stuff right now so it'll be ready tonight for you all to see.

You all are slacking! ;)

Where is everybody???

Naaaan...now that I think about it, it doesn't slow down when the kids get older...it simply changes gears

As soon as I got home my son wanted me to help him tackle his room...It's been spackled and painted, burgundy and beige...I bought the padding for under the rug and came up short. Sooooo. As soon as I got home DS wanted his padding for his room. So I grabbed me purse and headed to Lowes...got the padding and baseboard molding, came home, sucked down dinner and went upstairs to help him cut the padding. I just sat down...it's 9:45 at night!!!!!!!

oh yeah, and I'm still stuck on the boards as DD...

I'm gonna go completely off topic with this one...

DS was a microwave baby

In the beginning, I tried to warm bottles the old fashioned way, on the stove...well, we all know I don't cook right...I burned, melted and exploded so many bottles I figured out the microwave works just fine to heat it up.

To make a long story longer...

just kidding...

By the time DS was 6 months old he didn't have to wait more than 60 seconds for his meal.

Don't you know, to this day, that boy doesn't wait for anything - Love him to death....but if he asks for something, it's because he wants it, right now.

...but Mom, the store's open til midnight...but mom, watta u mean we can't go now...watta u mean I have to wait til tomorrow?

You know, Veruca syndrome...

I want it Daddy, and I want it nooooooow!!!!

Tig - :worship: You are THE goddess of photography! I can only say WOW!

Aisling - We'll meet you on deck 4, but it will be me doing the drinking! DH and DD can give you a run for your money!! He has taught the young Padawan well! Wait, wrong Sci Fi story!

Can I use any more exclaimation points?!
