Christmas Cruise 2005!!!

I go to the local Disney store when I need one. Have you been to the new WOD store in NYC?
Would you believe I've never been in that store??? I drive by it all the time, even if I'm not on 5th, I go down 5th just to pass by and look at it. I have to say, from the outside, it isn't spectacular, but I can see it's huge. But it's just what I need, maybe tomorrow. If I go, I'll write a TR. :rotfl:

In your case, maybe peruse Ebay and see what's out there
Now that's funny, you know me well, my friend!

I know, you could plan a trip to FL for Dec 2006 and stay at the all star's or Pop with us!
I would love it. Let's see how broke I am after this cruise, though.

I'm watching the news reports on the Pope. He's unconscious now, and I pray that he's surrounded by angels to take him to Heaven :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: .

I printed (28 pages! I'm NUTS!) a weeks worth of Navigators from the Magic last summer just so I could dream...DH IS ready to commit me! NINE MONTHS IS TOOOOOOO LONG!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! :sad2:
I peeked at the kids' club schedules, too (wouldn't print for some reason). I am pretty sure kids will be in heaven. Younger two have lots of crafts, projects and activities (right up their alley), and older DS seems to have games, sports, computer time, AM in Teen stack--he thought that was pretty cool! MIL may be surprised--I think the cousins will pretty much want to spend their days in kids' club w/ each other, and not with their dorky parents!!!! (at least I'm hoping so!!!!!!!!!!!)
On a more practical note, I was considering luggage. DH and I took 2-30" pieces, a large garment bag, golf clubs, and actually packed 2 carry ons that we used on the way home. There will be NO golf clubs (extra hand for 5 year old), and I purchased nice-sized rolling duffels for the older two. I think they are large enough for most their clothes, yet small enough for them to handle.
I will take fewer things myself--I was sucked into believing I needed to take everything but the kitchen sink...(power strips, duct tape, etc.), so now I know what I REALLY need, and hopefully the little one's stuff will fill in those empty spaces.
Luckily I didn't shop much on our last cruise, and don't expect to this time, though the kids will want a couple souvenirs. Tshirts don't take up much room....
There are mini-fridges in the room, right?
When are we leaving...next week, right?
I think I need a cruise every 6 months or so...hmmm, if we sell our house and live in the van, we might be able to afford it!!! :rotfl:
Gotta go. My bro's bday concert tonight...DH and I may head up early and hit the casino for a couple of hours. Should be fun!
Have a great day!
Kristin

Yes, I believe that you haven't been there, as you say-I know you my friend ;)

Any report back of your findings will do, let me know if it's worth a field trip from NJ please... :teeth: I've seen pictures, it seems layed out alot like FAO.

We can work on next year's trip next year, we have plenty of time :cool1:

I'm watching the news reports on the Pope. He's unconscious now, and I pray that he's surrounded by angels to take him to Heaven :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: .
 If anyone has angels around him, it's our Pope
He's been such a great leader for the church it's a shame to lose him. I pray that the new Pope is as loving and caring and as determined to be a good presence in front of the Catholic Church as PJPII is.

WOW! I didn't realize I had rambled so much!
Kristin
 You call it rambling, I call you a true DISer
I printed and read over seven days worth of passporters to build my itinerary months ago. You're actually a little behind in your planning.... :rotfl: .... :moped:
Yes, there are "coolers" in the rooms, not really a fridge but it'll keep things cold for you.
No, we're not leaving today....but it'll be here before ya know it!

WOW! I didn't realize I had rambled so much!
Ramble!! I love getting to know you all!

I printed (28 pages! I'm NUTS!) a weeks worth of Navigators from the Magic last summer just so I could dream...
Kristin, Last summer's Navigators?? You have to print the WINTER Navigators! Now go buy another ink cartridge and have a blast!

And Good Luck at the casino if you go. ;)

Do I find the Winter Navigators??!! I would LOVE to run 28 more pages to pour over in my continued procrastination of all things I should do, but don't really want to do!
Casino was fun--DH and I only lost about $30 each. Not bad for a couple hours. Eve w/ bro was fun, and we actually enjoyed John Cougar! Running a bit slow today....
Really need to look into planning a quick getaway (Vegas?) this summer for DH and I (use those United vouchers...) as well as the family vaca. Thinking about Minneapolis and the Mall of America. At least then I would have a temporary diversion or two to escape this cruise obsession!!!
Have a great weekend! :cheer2:
Kristin
Prayers to the Pope!

:cool1: Sounds like the perfect shopping excursion to me.... :goodvibes :cool1:

You can find these on dcltribute.com under the heading special navigators.

I pulled up some from December on the Magic/Eastern, plus printed the Xmas one.
Gotta go--It's nearly 80 and gorgeous here...can't stay inside!
Bye!
Kristin

Hi Gang,

Nothing new to report, except for thr trivial. Yankee game last night, Met game this afternoon, well I guess that's not trivial!
I'm feeling cold...hope I'm not coming down with something. I can't wait until later to take a long, hot shower, put on my oh-so-soft mMinnie pjs, and bundle up in my bed. But first i have to feed my family, fold a mountain of clothes, make sure Jesse has done his HW, mop the kitchen floor, prepare my music for work tomorrow, throw Jesse in the shower (he's like a cat!), and then I can do my thing.
Did I tell you, I bought a laptop, so I can lay in bed and Dis to my heart's content.

About the cruise, I've also been reading all the old navigators, but I mostly love reading the TRs.
I've been putting money in a Christmas Club account, so that the cruise will be paid off when we go. I want to put it on my Disney Visa, get the points, and then pay it off in full. It's going to be hard, because I tend to be an impulsive shopper, but it's going to stop, I make a solemn promise to my Dis friends!

Anyway, my son's boxers are calling me, and Mel's socks, and the towels, so I better go and shut them up! :rotfl:

See you later, if you're on tonight.

Back at school this week--work is OK, but I'm letting things go at home quite rapidly! It was gorgeous again yesterday, so we spent all evening outside (love daylight savings time--plus I prefer light at 6:50 not 5:50AM!)
Today severe storms expected this evening--figures, first spring flag football game is scheduled! Forecasters say we are to have another record-setting storm/tornado season again! Can use the rain, and the storms do interest me (I teach a class on natural disasters in the summer--nothing like hands on learning!) But the kids do get freaked.
Considering a summer trip...but should save for the cruise (spending $), and scheduling may be a nightmare. But I need a distraction!
Have a good day!
Kristin :bitelip:

Aisling: You got a Laptop!?!
~That is soooo on my wish list~
:cloud9: Wireless DISing :cloud9:
:cool1: I'm happy for you :cool1:

Are you feeling any better today? Will you be getting up Friday morning to watch the Pope's funeral? It's a shame that he is gone but you have to agree it was his time :(

My DD is upset about the recent death of a young comedian...she is infatuated with comedy and he was her fav, Mitch Headburg. I think it most upset her because seeing him on stage was something she had always planned to do and now she'll never have the opportunity :( Poor kid.

KKB: Tornados!!??!!
Have you ever had a direct experience with them? I hadn't even tought of you being in that type of environment :guilty: In NJ, we only see storms like that on TV. We're more used to seeing Hurricanes-even tho tracking their path is difficult, hurricanes are predictable. Tornados scare me more because of their unpredictability.

:sunny: Take care and enjoy the nice weather! :sunny:
~TTFN~

Kristin, that is so cool! When Chad was around 12 years old, he wanted to be a storm-chaser, and he really got into it. He read everything he could and taught himself all about tornados. But thankfully, he never experienced one. Now as a college kid, his career ambitions have turned to politics. Kids are funny!
I can imagine you enjoying the lovely weather into the evening. Here in NYC, it was also mild, but I'm sure it's tons different from the beautiful environment where you live. I imagine you living in a Field Of Dreams type area.

Are you feeling any better today? Will you be getting up Friday morning to watch the Pope's funeral?
I still have a chill, so I'm trying to take it easy, which is difficult. I only work until noon, and today I planned on coming right home for a rest before the kids got home, but it didn't work out that way. But it's nothing serious, no fever, just in need of a couple days of rest of mind and body. Thanks for asking about me! :goodvibes

About the Pope, by coincidence I was sitting in my living room watching the progress reports with my best friend (who happens to be a priest), and when the word came that the Holy Father was dead, my friend became so upset. He met JPII twice, and it was so sad seeing my friend react that way. He also has Parkinson's, and I think that may have had something to do with his reaction.
I'm definitely going to watch the funeral. We're not fanatics, but I do want my kids to see how this whole thing works, the death of a pope, the funeral, the traditions, the conclave, etc. I loved it when the people in the square clapped when they got word of his death; it showed the joy and the belief that he's in heaven now.

I'm sorry to hear about the death of the comedien Brit liked, although his name is unfamiliar to me. I'm going to ask my kids if they ever heard of him.

All you New Jerseyites (?), I hope you weren't affected by the flooding. The pics I saw on the news were really scary! Be well, you all!

Lurkers, come out come out wherever you are!

All of our basements got a little wet, but only my sister had major water. (Several full shopvac tanks).

They fascinate me. Nowadays we get plenty of warning, and personally never been in one. Last May a horrific one hit about 10 mi. south--a bit close for comfort. Mom, DH and I were in KC for a wedding. (couple of years ago a horrific one hit KC hours after we left--WHERE we were, too) so I guess I have had close calls. Dad said last years was horrid, too scary to even call us--feared we would freak w/ kids still here. It wiped out an entire town! It was F4, went hundreds of miles for about 4 hours--very odd.
Mutilated high school just a few miles down the road from us.
Naw, you would probably consider where I live the suburbs. Lincoln is a small city, lots of different neighborhoods. Exit the city and it is nothing but farmland! (Frankly Lincoln is a bit small--but good place to work and raise kids, plus virtually all family is w/in 1.5 hours)
Have a great day all!
Kristin :umbrella:
PS Bad storms went a bit south, we just got sprinkles!

:( Your friend will have fond memories for having met such a wonderful example of the life he chose. The Parkinsons connection would make the experience that much more personal. P&PD

I'll be thinking about the Pope and say my own prayers for him and all who support him...but I'm sorry, I'm not getting up at 4am :scared1:

I got goosebumps when I heard of the applause. My newscaster said the applause was for their appreciation of the work he has done. Either way, It's a cool way to show respect at his passing.

Thankfully, we live just far enough away from waterways that it's not an issue around our house. It is if you want to drive anywhere tho! :umbrella: We're due for a couple dry days and then get hit again. My prayers are out there for those that are affected.

Happy Humpday!!!

:rotfl: Aisling, get your mind out of that gutter!!! :duck:

You got guts lady!
All that would freak me out!

It probably has everything to do with what you grow up with. I grew up with hurricanes, you grew up with tornadoes. Californians grow up with earthquakes.

I love learning about the storms you get in the mid-west, but I'll stick to watching them on TV, thank you.

:moped: Speaking of lurkers! :moped:
TBJ where are you?!?!?!?

"...I go for those people that retain that something, you know, no matter how old they are; that little spirit of adventure, that appreciation of the world of fantasy and things like that. I go for them. I play to them. There's a lot of them. You know?" Walt Disney in the Happiest Place on Earth: He couldn't have done it without people like you.
