:teeth: You've got me in the mood for a concert...

but I'll be saving my money for this year's vacations
DD, DS & DSsGF need park passes for their four days in July (including a plus option,) I have to pay our share of the house for our two weeks in OBX, NC and then I'll be paying for excursions and the cruise

so, that'll be my year, how about you!?!

 We should start our own, sub-thread for a Christmas Cruise Diet Support Group ;)

:rotfl: Someone sure is deliriously happy today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristin, you can definitely lose that weight before the concert! When Chad heard you were going to see Gretchen, it got his attention, because he :lovestruc her!

This morning was quite solemn around here... we went to the Stations of the Cross and it really hit home. But Resurrection Sunday is on the way!! Sorry to get religious on you, but I love this time of year in my spiritual growth.

Kristin, thank you so much for your kind and helpful words about my dear friend. It gets VERY difficult sometimes, especially knowing things will only get worse as time goes on. But I'm counting my blessings, and am happy that he's been doing well lately. He's been a priest for 45 years, born in Limerick Ireland, and still has all the charm, wit, and sass that will keep him young. Thanks again.

Now on a lighter note, I collect Barbies, and I finally got my Repunzel barbie!!

HI Aisling - Happy Easter. A barbie collector. It must be time consuming. By the way I sent you an e-mail.

Hi Christmas Cruisers!

Can't wait til it's time, we'll be jammin and drinkin and having a good old time. I know it's wait, but we'll al be happy when it's here. Here's to dancing and having a good ol time. The DIS Rocks cause it gave me all of you to share this experience with.

Buh Bye!

see, all code :teeth:

Holiday's like Easter are funny, I think of Jesus and his crucifiction and look forward to the days of his rising like you. Church is spiritually lifting if you pay a little attention to it. And then I remember that some enjoy the holiday for the joy it brings our children and the togetherness it brings...

Aisling, my dd has some of the barbie's from around the world and all of the one's she played with growing up. The BFAW are in great condition, still in the boxes-but the rest, they're in two 50 gallon totes downstairs :rotfl: One for the Barbies and one for all the furniture :)

She inherited some high end dolls from her other g'mother, those are in her gfather's room until she can take better care of them-she needs a whole house just to fit all her stuff-no apartment living for my DD...

Hi Gang,

To my Easter-celebrating friends, Happy Easter! To my friends who don't, Happy Day!

Well, we're into another season, getting closer to our trip. I know some of you have other trips planned before the cruise, but I don't, so that's why I'm so obsessed about it! :boat:

I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know that I've decided to reduce the number of shoes I'm bringing :rotfl2: to one sneakers for the flight, one flip flops, one water/walking sandals (Crocs) for excursions, one casual sandals, and one pair of gold dressy shoes. The gold shoes can be worn on both Formal and Semi nights. Oh wait, and a pair of black kitten heels for Pirate Night pirate:

I just bought this tie-dye Mickey swimsuit cover-up off Ebay.

I'm wondering, though, how often I'll be in a bathing suit on the ship. The pool looks a bit small, and I don't sunbathe (trying to keep my skin youthful :rotfl: ). But seriously, how much bathing suit time is spent onboard for most people?

And I'm wondering about beach towels...we each have our own cuite Disney towels, and I know the ship gives out towels even for excursions. Did anyone ever, or plan to, bring their own towels "just because"?

Tomorrow we're supposed to have a big rain storm, which sounds exciting. :umbrella:

That's about it for now...and as Mickey says---See ya real soon! :earsgirl:

Hi Aisling :drinking:
The pool is a great place for people to gather round & talk. It was amusing during our cruise the Gov of NJ admitted he was gay. That was the topic of conversation that really drew people together. It was amazing how many were from Jersey. Or just wanted to talk about it. I personally went to the pool every day.

I have this huge beach towel with a wolf on it - used every time I went to the pool. Aways took a kamakazee too.

I dont care for the rain too much. April is the month I have to weapons qualify & it always seems to rain the day I have to go to the range. I checked the forecast for next Friday & guess what - you guessed it - 60% chance of rain.

Happy Easter Bunny Day

Jill :moped:

trinibjill: My DH has been waiting for a good range day, too. He wants to take DS9 and DS8 on an over night trip.

Aisling: I find my cover up more important than my suit since I rarly take it off. ;) I'll look for yours to say hi!
Speaking of shoes. I figured for my family of five we will end up taking atleast 17 pairs. My DH almost passed out when I cassually mentioned it. :teeth:
I think he is a littled worried about our total lugage count.

Even with other trips planned, I am totally into this cruise!
I am sooo, looking forward to actually meeting all our new friends and hanging out on a sunny deck, by the pool (I like the hot tub too,) cruising to new experiences, enjoying Disney in a totally new way...

What's even better is I get to do this with my mom and daughter (going to college next year) with dd's best friend (who's so close to me, she's one of my "other daughters." DDsGF is also going away to college next year :( )

and Doing all this at Christmas!!!! :teeth: :wizard: :cool1:

Aisling, you have every right to be excited!!!!!!!!!!

~I am glad and grateful to have people just as nuts as I am about planning and Disney~

I like your new shoe list, I will bring 2 prs of sneakers, flip flops, casual sandals and dress shoes. (I figure if I need more than that, I'll buy them ;) ) ---There's good shopping where we're going---
I saw a mickey cover up in the new disney direct catalog I want...it'll match my black two piece. I want to pick up one more swimsuit before the trip, I expect to be on the pool deck quite a bit while we're sailing. :)

...I like to bring at least one towel per person, two if there's room...

Tomorrow we're supposed to have a big rain storm, which sounds exciting.

~Yeah, it's a crappy Monday~
Regis said you had freezing rain in NY this am. I can handle the rain...I can't stand it when it's icy :(

Now that you mention it...2 suitcases per person plus two carry on's thats seventeen suitcases? :scratchin Yup! that's about right! Seventeen! :duck:
DD & me will share my carry on, 4 suitcases between us, DDsGF will have one plus one...so the three of us will be fying down with 5 suitcases, a garment bag and two carry on's! TBJ is driving down-she will probably have her 2 suitcases plus a carry-on on the boat. I'll use my mickey cooler/suitcase in the room and the rest of my luggage fits inside each other so storage in the room shouldn't be an issue for us...

~Ditto~

:boat: Come on December! :boat:

Wow, Tig just pointed out that SOG is now charging for the parking garage. I can' say that I approve of the $3 extra per day. I also think if I want to park there I will have to pay it. There is a small parking lot out front I guess could be used if necessary.

Luggage!!!! I have this large roll on wheeled suitcase. It is equal to two suitcases. The carryon I brought last time only had a swim suit, unmentionables, booze & a camera. When we went thru the airline checkin the guy told me I had too much booze but he would let me go anyway.

3xthecharm - We also can use the range for target practice but since it is on Ft Dix the only ones that stay overnight are the military. I used to go in August. no one else liked the heat so there were only a few there & we could get it over & done with. Now they do they scheduling cause I sure wouldn't go in April in the rain.

This might sound silly but I'm only taking 4 pair of shoes. dress-up, slip-on
sneakers, regular sneakers & sandals.

Happy Trails :earboy2: :moped:

trinibjill: DH has part ownership in a private range. They sleep in a "cabin" of sorts and use an outhouse. No thanks. I'll wait for the cruise for my vacation. :rotfl:

I totally agree. If I never sleep in the woods again it will be tooooo soon. I had enough of roughing it in the military. I love sleeping in rooms where some one takes care of it for me.

I'll use my mickey cooler/suitcase

Tiggie, don't forget, I have the same one! You'll see me rolling it into the terminal as my carry-on, so don't think I swiped your bag! :rotfl2:

What?? No flip flops??

The slip-on sneakers I bought are like flip-flops to me. Personally - something between my toes drives me nuts ( i should say nuttier)

Jill :moped:

you have GOT to stop talking about suitcases and what to pack already! If I start digging out suitcases DH will certainly have me committed!!!! I did make a very specific list for our Oct. cruise, but will need kid lists. And I will certainly need to update my list with an entirely new smaller wardrobe!! (I intend to make good use of those end of the season summer sales!!!!!). Of course those Russell Stovers coconut Easter nests today aren't going to get me there any quicker!!! :rolleyes1
Oldest DS has friend staying over (Spring Break this week). 9 year old boys are SOOOOO wierd when they get together!
I need to go find a quiet space in this house...may be difficult...
Have a good one!
Kristin
PS All this rain talk--I need to brag. Yesterday was 62, calm and sunny; today 75, breezy, partly cloudy; tomorrow more of the same w/ showers headed tomorrow night.... :umbrella: Tough to stay inside to get a couple of projects done this week when weather is like this! :Pinkbounc

Kristin, I just got my flight-down outfit in the mail from Chadwick's...a pink terry hoodie set. I used a 50% off code from the Budget Board, and I'm a happy cruiser! DH thinks I'm nuts, he says I'll change my mind many times about what to wear by the time we actually go. But hey this is making me happy, so nyah nyah nyah to DH :earboy2: Just kidding dear :love2: :rotfl:

My reasoning is this, I don't want to bother wearing a coat to the airport even if my brother drives us and we could just leave our coats in the car. The terry hoodie set is warm enough to get me from my house, into the car, and into the airport, even if it's freezing outside. So I just went and put it in my suitcase :cheer2:

My kids don't know it, but I've started packing for them, too!

PS All this rain talk--I need to brag
Please do, it'll give us hope that spring weather will be coming our way soon! Enjoy it! :sunny:
