Hi everyone :wave2:

I don't want to intrude on your cruise thread, but I wanted to stop in and say HELLO to Jill (trinibjill ?) because I saw her pic with Gloria Estefan last night in Tigger's trip report, and I recognised her!! ::yes:: How cool is that?? :cool2:

Jill and I were VERY INNOCENTLY relaxing in the Quiet Cove pool, chatting with another lady, when all of a sudden I hear a voice over the speakers saying "...and you three ladies will be our women's team!" I look up and see a CM standing there on the edge of the pool holding a cordless mic, looking down at us! :scared1: I *really* wanted to get out of the pool and make a run for it, but I decided to stay and see what happens. lol

I won't go into gory details but after our gold-coin-diving, synchronized swimming, and simultaneous dismount from the pool (I don't think ANY of us actually dismounted out of the pool! LOL), us women WON THE GOLD MEDAL!! :teeth:

I hope all have a wonderful cruise later this year!!! :boat: :sunny: And thanks for letting me peek in! :magnify:

:disrocks:

Gotta keep this thread on the first page!!
Playing hooky today to go watch some basketball! Used to take Thurs/Fri off the first weekend of March Madness then plant ourselves in a sports bar for 4 days...well...children have certainly changed that! Don't have as many days when they are used for sick kids! Plus having kids w/ you isn't the same. We took them for a while last night...BW3s puts cartoons on one TV ::yes::
DS9 likes to follow the tourney, but he also likes the video games, unlimited soda (we don't even have soda at the house for them) and junk food. But cripes, he eats $20 worth of food himself! My mom is gonna watch them tonite and tomorrow as my birthday present!
Anyone follow the tourney? Any favorites?
Have a great Friday!
Kristin

 Hi Sea Spray, stop by any time!

KKB: Basketball is probably the only sport not watched in my house
~That's very nice of the parent's to give you some time off~I appreciated every bit of time DH and I get to spend together sans children-helps keep us from becoming strangers while still raising the kids.

tigger--when DH and I got pregnant, my mom promised me a regular date night because we were here first, and a happy marriage is a happy family.
She was SOOO right! DH and I were late 20s/early 30s when we married and we were used to lots of playing! We still play a lot, it just requires a bit more planning! I'm happy to say we are more in love than ever after 11 years of marriage, and best friends. We have taken many long weekends over the years, but the Princess cruise in Oct. was the longest we have gone anywhere together (and left kids for!)--10 days gone total! And we were together virtually every waking moment (and the sleeping ones, too!), except Jamaica, and I am pleased to say that we had only one small tiff (too many cocktails for DH...he then got mad at me for nothing; don't worry, profusely apologized the next day!). Anyway, we SOO enjoyed one another's company! We didn't go w/ anyone we knew, so we were dependent on one another somewhat. We did meet wonderful people that we ended up doing things with, but I don't think we would have had to!
Plus the children have close relationships with all three sets of grandparents (DH's parents divorced when he was 12).
Here I go rambling again....
Off to more basketball and hubby time! :jumping1:
Kristin

Enjoy your weekend!

I'll try to check in over the weekend but my phone lines are acting up...I really need to get a different provider!

~Web TV would be perfect but I'm not up for spending the extra $100 on the unit~My FIL keeps talking about getting Satellite but that's not happening quick enough for me either... Oh Well! I'll definitely be back on Monday~

Hey,
I just came back from Curves. 5lbs in 1 week!!!!!!!!! :jumping1:

Remember, I'm doing this for your sakes as well. Me in a bathing suit is not currently a pretty sight. :teeth:

Waiting to get online to buy U2 tickets...wish we luck!
3x--way to go!!! I eat right, I exercise...I am definitely at a plateau! I suppose beer and wings during March Madness is not exactly going to jump start this weight loss!!!
tigger--we just got Tivo through direct TV a couple months ago and LOVE it (we also just upgraded to DSL from land line--I would have had no shot at gettting tickets online before!) Anyhow LOVE the Tivo. Phone call? pause. Kids fighting? pause. Watching another show too long during commercial? Rewind and get right back to where to left off. Plus getting through commercials of recorded programs is SOOO cool. Problem is, I seem to be watching too much TV!!! Oh, well, weather is getting nicer so we will spend evenings outside playing soon, get my fat rear in gear!
Have a good one!
Kristim

We got our appointment with the phone company...
They will be over sometime between today and Tuesday! :rotfl2:

I hope they don't expect me to wait at home for them

:wizard: ~Good Luck with those Tickets! U2 is a hard ticket to get~ :wizard:

~Congrats on your progress 3X! Keep up the good work~

I'm at work for a couple hours this morning ... I hope everyone's having a wonderful Saturday! :sunny:

~TTFN~

My mom is gonna watch them tonite and tomorrow as my birthday present!
Kristin, Happy 21st :cake: Birthday! :flower2:

I just came back from Curves. 5lbs in 1 week!!!!!!!!!
Ok, 3x, that calls for a celebration! :jumping1: :dancer: :rockband: :drinking1 :thewave: I've been SO BAD with my diet!! You girls just stay close to me on the ship, and I'll save you from having to lose those few last pounds...you'll look like skinnie minnies next to me!
3x, I'm sorry, I forgot your first name! I think you told us a while ago!

Just checking in for the first time in awhile. Surgery went fine on my viens,
more pain than I thought but what are you going to do? Should be able to
get back to the "Y" in about a week. Hope everyone is doing great and we
are getting there! After such a winter, its wierd to be looking forward to
next winter!! :earsgirl: :cool2: :bounce:

Oh, I guess it is actually afternoon here!
Franco, glad you are on the up & up!
My mom said you always feel 21 in your head--I'm going to go with that!
Got the U2 tickets--not bad seats, either! Waited 25 min. online--worth it! (my third time seeing them--I will have seen them in each of the last 3 decades--YIKES! That dates me! Cool thing, DS9 wanted to go w/ me!!)
Family just watched the Travel Channel show on DCL--got us all excited! We were surprised how much it looks like the Star Princess! Now only 9 months to anticipate!!!
Happy Sunday!
Kristin

Franco, I'm happy to see you back! These next 9 months are going to go by so fast! Is your family getting excited?

Kristin, wow U2!! Now THAT'S a concert!! The last concert I went to was Ronan Tynan of the Three Irish Tenors, and before that was Yanni! I'm not as cool as the rest of you! But now I'm going to show how old I am and admit the first concert I ever went to was Queen. I was a wee tot at the time! :rotfl2: Kristin, you're going to have an exciting time, I can tell you're all psyched up over it! Have you heard of Evanescence? My son Chad is big into that group, and I'm catching on to them. I really like their music a lot. Anyway, give a wave to Bono from me...he's a really strong singer, and I love his accent.

EDIT: I originally wrote about my dearest friend who's battling diabetes and parkinson's disease, and i asked my friends to say a prayer for him, and for me to help me deal with this. I then deleted it, because it made me so d=sad to see it there in my post. Thank you to whoever saw it and offered a prayer before I deleted it. :grouphug:

Aisling--thoughts and prayers for your friend! I hope he will be able to manage these diseases and have some quality of life for a good long time!
Situations like that slap me in the face if I have been wallowing in self-pity...reminding me of my blessings! Truly, on the rare occasion that I am having a pity-party (just happened last week...), I swear God gives me a few days to work it out, and if I don't, shows me situations that remind me of how good I have it.
And to think I was said because I won't be going to Cancun next week! I need to get a life!
Have a good day---
Kristin

 Aisling-Evanescence! Cool!~Queen! Super Cool!
I have one question for you today-check your PMs.

Franco, great to see you back, get your rest & listen to the Doc! We want you in tip top shape come December :)

KKB: Have a great time at your concert.

My kids are soooo into concerts right now I can't keep up with them  I just make sure DD tells me when transportation is needed :teeth:

Good times around here. Only 4 day week, and next week is Spring Break.
Plus a low-key week--mostly giving tests here at the end of the quarter. Nice!
tigger--that U2 concert isn't until Dec. 15!! I am taking the 23rd off to pack for the cruise, and now I may need the Friday before off also, since the concert is Thurs. eve in Omaha, an hour away. I hate to do that, since we only get 2 "free" days off each year...maybe I can just slug through Friday after the concert to save that day!
Love that I have added a concert to the already nutty holiday season that we will be gone for most of! Ah, holiday frenzy!
Have a great day!
Kristin

December!

Wow! That's an early purchase for ya! :)

~I hope everyone has a great holiday/vacation~ I just realized DD is off all next week  Hopefully for her the weather is good and she doesn't get stuck in the house. She a fair weather kinda girl :teeth:

Happy Tuesday Christmas Cruisers!

My bday was yesterday--39, though DH and others continue to remind me how close to 40 I am!!
Quiet day--dinner at my folks, a little reality TV fix. DH and I are going to Omaha for the weekend next month for my bday/anniversary (11) and we will see Kenny Chesney/Uncle Cracker/Gretchen Wilson. This new Qwest center is really bringing in top acts!
Hope all is well for everyone. NWestern NE got 6-12+inches of snow--YUK! Luckily we dodged that bullet!

Happy 29th Birthday Kristin!
:ssst:

As long as we don't act our age, no-one will ever know our age ;)

I'm almost as young as your are, you have about a-yr-and-a-half on me :)

That concert sounds awesome, happy early anniversary. Uncle Cracker is all that and then some!

Our winter is almost over, we're starting our "rainy season." I guess being in NE you'll have one or two more chances for snow eh?

tigger--thanks for the wishes!
Mom says you are always 21 in your head!
Guess now I'm going to John Mellencamp at Qwest next Fri. for bro's bday per his request. (yes, he's an April FOOL) Not a big fan, but bro was adamant, and we just don't do enough together, so it's an investment in our relationship!
Been raining M-T and today here. DD said "wow, umbrellas sure are handy in the spring!" More in forecast over weekend, but 60s by Mon
We have had a snow day in April before! While a day off is nice, I'm done w/ winter! I used to like summer weather worst of all, but after my trips beachside this last year, I think I'm a convert! Just give me some water to cool off!
Have a good one!
Kristin
PS Diet sabotage--bday, basketball and Easters! Oh, well, get serious Monday! Got some "hip" jeans I wanna fit back into for that Kenny Chesney concert! I think I can lose 5-7 lbs. in 3 weeks.
