I am getting the feeling that I bought the Brooklyn bridge!! I know it's early, but no one is going on the Dec.24th-31st 2005 eastern cruise? Someone out there assure me that this won't be my family, my travel agent, and a drunken Mickey in a row boat!!

Hey, if this was this was the western itinerary w/the two-stopper at CC, our family would be joining you in a heartbeat. We're going Thanksgiving 2005. (Come to think if it, Christmas on DCL sounds wonderful! This is tough!):D

Hi Franco56,
I'm not on this cruise yet, but I'm booking it first thing tomorrow morning! I've been checking travel sites, and it looks to be almost full already. I was hoping we'd be booking early enought to get a SPH, but no such luck.

I've been searching for others going on this cruise also, but didn't find any other threads.

I'm gonna make it easier for others to find us:
20051224 12/24/05 12/24/2005 Dec 24, 2005 December 24th, 2005 Christmas Eve 12-24-05 12-24-2005

There, think that oughtta cover it!

See you in 17 months (Ack!)!

Well, it's official - I booked us this morning!

Category 9, Cabin 2576. I'll miss the verandah we had on our first cruise, but not as much as I would miss the extra $1,400 it costs!

I'll be on that cruise with my husband and two sons (13 and 20 by then)!!!

This will be our first cruise, and we're SO excited. DH didn't come with us to WDW this year, since he has had enough, he says. But he's actually looking forward to the Disney Cruise. And to experience it at Christmas, wow, I can hardly believe it.

I'm still deciding between rooms 6550 and 6556, cat. 6. I have to make my decision by tomorrow!

Bumping this up in search of more Christmas 2005 Magic cruisers!!

Welcome Aisling!

I was in 6580 on my first (and only) cruise back on 11/01/2003. Not too far from 6556. Nice location, and loved the verandah.

It will be my Wife and I cruising.

502 days - I don't think I can make it that long!

I think I argree with his thinking, although we have not been to WDW anywhere near the times other people have been there, we have been seven times in about three years. Don't get me wrong it is an awesome time, but I think it is getting played out for me.We might go back when the boys are on there own for Christmas time, but I think that would be it. However, we have never cruised before so a Christmas cruise with Disney sounds great!!! After saying all that, we leave again for WDW Aug 16th and the SOG!!! I guess we have been bitten my that mouse again!!

Franco56,

How old are your sons and are they thrilled about the cruise? My oldest son is AF-ROTC, so when I told him you were staying at SOG, he was impressed. He's very patriotic!

grimgrinnin,

I was going to go for 2 inside staterooms, but decided to put the 4 of us together to have a verandah room instead. My kids don't mind not having they're own room...they just want the verandah!

I hope this thread survives, because it's great having cruise-mates to talk to!

Aisling, thats nice to see a young man that is patriotic! I am a 100% disabled Vietnam combat veteran. My two stepsons will be 15 and 12 at time of cruise and yes they are excited about the cruise, but I think DW and myself are even more excited! We have Cat 6, cabin 6062. Tell your son I am taking down the flag at Magic Kingdom next week, it will be my second time. It is and was awesome!!

Franco56,

We're in 6540, so howdy neighbor!

The Flag Ceremony at MK is such an emotional and proud thing. Blessings to you and your family. I'd love to be going to WDW next week, just like you, but we just got back!

My Mom is taking 12 of us. She sold her house and wanted to take us all on a cruise. DH and I pushed for DCL. It wasn't that hard to convince DM as she went with DH, DD and me on the Wonder June of 2002.

We'll be in 6116, 6118 and 6120. I am so excited, I am not sure I can wait this long.

We range in ages from 13 to 79!

Franco56,
Thank you for your service.

domiii,
Welcome!

Aisling,
I saw your post on whether or not to 'tux'. I bought a tux on ebay for my last (first) cruise for just a little more than the cost of a rental. Loved wearing it. Got some great formal pictures. It's nice that I don't have to worry about that expense again. I also brought a suit for semi-formal night, but I'll probably leave that at home this time. It was just too much stuff to pack. I'll just 'dress-down' the tux for semi-formal and Palo.

grimgrinnin,
I have DH and two DSs, so that means six suits to carry! Someone suggested wearing a bow tie and vest with a black suit. Would that work?

By the way, are any of you taking the DCL bus to the port?

Aisling,
I think that's a good idea.

As for the DCL bus, we will most likely take Tiffany Towncar from the airport to the port the night before, stay at the Radisson, and then take the hotel's shuttle to the ship the next morning.

Aisling

We are taking the DCL bus. We are flying out of Newark. Were are you flying from?

I see you are from NYC. If you trade pins .... get some B&B and Lion King Broadway pins. Only available in NYC!! We made a killing with them, the first time we traded! DH is going to stock up again for this cruise.

domiii,

we're flying out of JFK or LGA, probably on Song. I've had really good luck with finding their hours-only long web specials, and usually have paid around $175 for tickets. Well, I guess it's not luck, I just check the website 10-15 times a day when I'm close to buying!

We want to take the DCL bus for the convenience of not having to deal with our bags, and also I've heard riding the DCL bus is lots of fun. The people onboard are all excited, and the host CM dressed in the Disney nautical jacket makes the cruise begin right from the moment of arriving at MCO. At least this is what I'm hoping and looking forward to.

About the Lion King and BB pins...what do you mean? Disney pins? Show pins? I didn't know there were special pins for the shows. I'm going to check into it right away, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for LOL!

Aisling;

We did the whole transfer thing when we cruised in 2002. It was WELL worth it. They showed a video about the ship, so you are really pumped when you get to port!! I really can so exicted. I can't think of anything else.

The pins are Disney pins AND show pins. The Aida pins say Buena Vista on the back and can't be traded. The Lion King pin comes in a little pouch! And they are only available on Broadway. You can get them at the theaters themselves or One Shubert Alley!

My family thinks I'm nuts, but I found an old water cooler jug and put a sign on it saying Lectura Family Cruise... etc...All donations accepted...Every penny helps!
I put it in a prominent place in our home, and now I have everyone dropping change in it! I don't mean visitors, just my family. Whenever they come home, DH and DSs go through their pockets for change. And anything I find in the washer, on the floor, in the couch, etc, goes right into the jug. It's like a game now, and if we keep it up, these pennies, nickels, and dimes will grow, baby, grow!!!

I'm so excited about this cruise, I hope I don't burn myself out by Dec. 2005!
