We send Christmas cards to close family/friends/neighbors but never really counted the exact number. I can recall several years ago looking at the large basket of Christmas cards my parents had received when visiting them at Christmas and asked who all of these people were. I had no idea who most of them were. Many were friends of relatives/neighbors, distance friends or people they no longer associated with. Even if a relative, I don't see the point of sending a Christmas card to someone you haven't seen or even spoken with in over 5 years. Apparently some people use FB to blast out greetings to all of their 'friends'. I know some friends of friends on FB who seem to take every opportunity to brag about all of the expensive vacations they have taken and show lots of pictures. Just seems really tacky to me................LOL.
Those 'here's what we have done as a family in the last year' type of letters used to be fun to read when someone had younger children and perhaps we saw them a few times each year. If you never see those people, then I am not sure what they did in the last year would matter to you. If you HAVE seen them a lot, then clearly you would already know most of what they did.
