Sounds like you have a good plan for some time to yourself. I think I need to plan something like that. I was able to meet with a friend for dinner tonight. IT WAS AWESOME! Thing is.. Steve and I don't really fight either... but he does definitely deal with stress differently. I calmly talked with him last night about how I was feeling. He mentioned to me that he just could not do what I am doing. I told him I don't have a choice. I think in a nutshell that is the difference between moms and dads when it comes to the care giving. Moms don't' have a choice... we don't think "hmm... maybe I will just leave my child in the hospital". I think it isn't so much that dads think that they should.. they just don't think that they shouldn't.
That was the phrase that I was trying to get across and did not know how to put it in words!
I am in such a dilemaon what to buy and pack for December...knowing that last year Orlando had a VERY cold December!
Cute purchases!
I love the dress and shoes for Zoe - and if it is really too cold, couldn't she just wear a T-shirt underneath? And those shoes are too cute.
Can't wait to see you in your new shirt!![]()
I'm glad to hear that you are home and almost back to a routine.
Love your purchases. Very cute.
I am going to go with short sleeve shirts and bring long sleeves to throw under them if it is too cold- this way we can add and minus layers as we need to! Maybe you can add a nice sweater and woolly tights to the dress ad shoes that you have just in case it's cold and then take away as you need to? But they are cute- Steve's shirt is funny! My son loves phineas and ferb!
Cute purchases, Ann. That dress is adorable (she could always wear a little sweater over it if it is too chilly). And the shirts --![]()
I'm really glad she got to go home without the PICC line surgery.
I'm glad you and Zoe are finally home again. I hope she continues to get better and doesn't have any more issues.

Kathy (and everyone else), Zoe is dong well. She is a tad fussy... and we have some struggles with taking medicine and irrigating her bladder. Her tubes can not come out soon enough! As a part of the routine, I take a syringe and "draw back" out of the tube. I know it causes her pain because her bladder will spasm so hard it causes the syringe to jolt. I feel bad for her.
I finally got some clarification on discharge instructions. Originally when she was first discharged there was one set. The second time a different set. The morning of the second discharge a verbal from the resident who was tending to her.
In the end, there was a fourth and final set. See... this infection sets back the process of allowing her bladder to fill and then empty. While it is "dirty" we don't want her "new" bladder to hold all of the yucky urine. But the tubes need to come out 4 weeks from surgery (just 2 more to go) Anyway... the original plan would have been to allow the cycling process to happen for an hour at a time for a week... then 2 hours at a time for a week and finally 3 hours at a time for a week to get to the 4 weeks past surgery. Since we can not start until monday...we will be speeding up the process to 4 day marks instead of 7 day. So 7/28 we should be pretty close to "normal" since she will be completely cycling and her tubes will come out.
Despite the tubes and what not... it is super nice that she is dry. I think the hardest part is now behind us.

Ann, so sorry that she is having pain when you have to draw back out of the tube. Glad you finally got some clarification on the discharge.
Here's hoping that everything continues to go smoothly and only 13 more days until the tubes come out.
Try and get some rest this weekend (tell Steve to give you a break!).![]()
Ann, I am glad to read that things are looking better. I really really really hope that sweet little Zoe will soon be free from everything and most of all painfree!
Hey, I hope that you got to take a little "coffee" break to yourself this weekend! And I am glad that she's feeling a little better, but upset that she's in pain when you need to do something that's necessary!
Hi Ann,
I know things are crazy busy right now. Just want you to know I'm thinking and praying still over here for you guys. Glad that Zoe is home and I hope that all is getting better and better every day.
What a wonderful mommy and strong strong woman you are!![]()
