In fact, CS, I couldn't get the "Lyle the Kindly Viking " song out of my head today! I was singing it over and over. It goes something like...

We used to care for gold so rare and all our share of big TV's but when we share we get our share of friends (dodododo,do dodododo,do)
So what's the use
the golden goose is no excuse for being mean
cause when we share we get our share of friends (dodododo,do dodododo,do)

I certainly don't mind...I love Bob and Larry...especially Larry. In the above mentioned video they are supposed to be singing it like an opera or musical so Larry thinks he has to sing all of his lines and Bob keeps telling him he does not...at the end he sings..."I have to go to the bathroom!!!" It is hilarious!

Hemi-mom: I know the feeling,I've been humming Dance of the Cucumber all day;)

DS#1 is home for the first time in ten weeks!! He was on a short-term mission trip in India (five weeks) and had training and debriefing. He rolled in at about midnight last night and we stayed up until 1:30 or so talking about his experiences! Wow!

Remember how I was upset that he was thinking about getting married next summer (after breaking off the engagement just before he left the country)? Well, after talking to him, I can just see Jesus in him!! And if he says getting marriend is right for him, I'm okay with that.

I can't believe how my emotions have done a 180-degree turn in all of this! But the Lord has truly been working in both of our lives! I'm so excited that I could bounce around the room like Tigger!!

So sing with me please and share my joy!

HALLELUJAH (YOUR LOVE IS AMAZING)

by Phillips, Craig & Dean

Your love is amazing
Steady and unchanging
Your love is a mountain
Firm beneath my feet
Your love is a mystery
How You gently lift me
When I am surrounded
Your love carries me

Your love is surprising
I can feel it rising
All the joy that’s growing
Deep inside of me
And every time I see You
All Your goodness shines through
And I can feel this God song rising up in me

chorus:
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Your love makes me sing
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Your love makes me sing

Your love is surprising
I can feel it rising
All the joy that’s growing
Deep inside of me
Every time I see You
All Your goodness shines through
I can feel this God son rising up in me

All that I can say is, we serve an amazing God!

In Him,

Edie

Due to circumstances I've been keep on my knees for the last few months. I woke with this song in me head this morning.

On My Knees

There are days
When I feel
The best of me
is ready to begin
Then there're days
when I feel
I'm letting go
and soaring on the wind
Cause I've learned in laughter or in pain
How to survive

Chorus:
I get on my knees
I get on my knees
There I am before the love
that changes me
See I don't know how but there's power
When I'm on my knees

Verse 2:
I can be
In a crowd
or by myself
or almost anywhere
when I feel there's a need
to talk with God
He is Emmanuel
When I close my eyes
no darkness there
There's only light!

Chorus 2:
I get on my knees
I get on my knees
There I am before the love
that changes me
See I don't know how
but there's power
In the blue skies
In the midnight
When I'm on my knees

I get on my knees
I get on my knees
There I am before the love
that changes me
See I don't know how
but there's power
When I'm on my
OOO, when I'm on my
When I'm on my knees

Edie!!!! I'm so singing with you sister! You must be so glad to have him home. I can't believe that it's been that long already since he's been gone. I imagine the things he did/saw while there were incredible.

Hallelujah! His love is amazing!

CS- I don't know a lot of Veggie Tale songs but of the ones I have heard "God's Cheeseburger" is my favorite. I hae a cd with that song on it and it just cracks me up! :teeth:

I woke up this morning with the folling song in my mind.

Sometimes By Step/Rich Mullins

Sometimes the night was beautiful
Sometimes the sky was so far away
Sometimes it seemed to stoop so close
You could touch it but your heart would break
Sometimes the morning came too soon
Sometimes the day could be so hot
There was so much work left to do
But so much You'd already done

Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

Sometimes I think of Abraham
How one star he saw had been lit for me
He was a stranger in this land
And I am that, no less than he
And on this road to righteousness
Sometimes the climb can be so steep
I may falter in my steps
But never beyond Your reach

Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

And I will follow You all of my days
And I will follow You all of my days
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days
And I will follow You all of my days

Marcie, it's always so good to see you here! {{{hugs}}} I just love that song you posted, so beautiful and so very true. I'm glad we both woke up with a song in our heart this morning. :)

This verse came to my mind when I was "singing" with you. :)

"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

James 5:16

Now this song is in my head :)

Get On Your Knees (and fight like a man)/Petra

Out on your own with your own self reliance
You've got no one to watch your back
You find yourself caught with no strong alliance
You've been left open for attack

Over your head the condition is graver
You've given ground you can't retrieve
The cards are stacked and they're not in your favor
But you've got an ace up your sleeve

Get on your knees and fight like a man
You'll pull down strongholds if you just believe you can
Your enemy will tuck his tail and flee
Get on your knees and fight like a man

Under the gun, you've got no place to hide out
Backed in the corner on your own
This is one storm you are destined to ride out
One way to leave the danger zone

You've got the backbone to fight this tide
You've got the will to survive
You've got the weapon, it's at your side
You've got to learn to confide

Get on your knees and fight like a man
You'll pull down strongholds if you just believe you can
Your enemy will tuck his tail and flee
Get on your knees and fight like a man

"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

James 5:16

Michelle

I can't tell you how much I needed to hear that today. I know to worry shows a lack of faith and boy have I been lacking lately.

Marcie

Marcie, that happens to all of us, believe me, that verse was something I need to listen to as well.

Want to hear something that happened to me the other night? It was probably about 1am and I was laying in bed. I had woken up and wasn't falling back asleep very quickly so of course your mind starts thinking about different things. So I was laying there thinking about this one thing and what I could do about it (that was the first mistake) and then I just decided to pray about it and try to go back to sleep. So I prayed and then just literally seconds later I was worrying about it again and instantly I heard that little voice inside say "Michelle, why do you even bother praying" and it just cut through me like a knife. So you see Marcie, you are not alone in this. We have to help each other along and together we will become what God wants us to be. {{{hugs}}}

This verse has been my lifeline this week-

"Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Philippians 4:6)

:)

Luke 12
28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.

Thanks for the encouragement!

I love the Petra song also. DH adores Petra. I believe they are coming out with a new CD on the 19th.

God So Loved: Jaci Velasquez

God so loved the world
That He gave His one and only Son
That whosoever believes in Him
will not perish but have everlasting life

I try so hard to find the words to say
To let you know how great is this God to whom I pray
Nothing can or ever will compare
To the peace that flows in your soul when He is living there

Oh I know you've been through so much
It's hard to contemplate letting go and reaching out in trust
But I know the simple truth
That love is here for you
So take Him at His word and see what He can do

The promise is yours and mine
Take hold of this love
For the rest of your life

But it's time to take a step of faith
Be prepared for Jesus' love to carry you away

Had to give DS#1 a hug and a kiss and send him off again. He had to return early to college because he'll be the co-ordinator for the Transition and Guidance Groups for incoming freshmen. So good to have him home even if it was just for a quick 60 hours! The Lord is working so closely in his life -- his stories from India were inspiring.

The big goosebump story from the trip is that he was taking care of a man dying of liver disease. About the only thing he could do to make the man feel better, was to massage his legs. The last day, while David was holding his hand, the man who spoke only Bengalese, said in plain English, "I know I'm going to heaven because I have Jesus in my heart." Now, as David said, did he really speak English for that moment or did God allow David to understand Bengalese? We serve an awesome God!!

YOU ARE STILL GOD

Scott Krippayne – YOU ARE STILL GOD
From the album – IT GOES LIKE THIS

I’ve prayed but still don’t have answers
At least none I’m able to see
I’ve tried to rest in not knowing
But not knowing’s a hard place to be
But as I return to Your pages
The words breathe new life to my soul
I see You at work through the ages
And know that You’re still in control

chorus:
You are still God
You have created the land and the sea
May we applaud
And sing to the wonder of Your majesty
The wind will still blow
We won’t always know
Why seasons of life are so hard
But You are still God

Help me have faith in the knowledge
That You’re greater than what we go through
And when I reside in the valleys
Help me keep trusting in You
The how and the when You are moving
Were not meant for me to decide
Again and again You are proving
You’re there at just the right time

chorus

Have a wonderful week!!

Ooh! That one gave me the chills. Thank you for sharing this with us. What he said reminds me of the song about the Sunday School teacher that says "Thank you for giving to the Lord...". I was trying to look up the real name of the song, but the website I'm trying to use is apparently down. But in the song they also say "I have Jesus in my heart".

Michelle, that song is by Ray Boltz and it is called "Thank You". :)

Edie, what a beautiful story, give me goosebumps too!

Why thank you Michelle! I knew I had heard it a million times, but I just couldn't think of it. You would think I could remember that one!

When I finally got into the playlist when I read all of the song titles and I just started singing those songs. I get distracted a bit too easy sometimes. :o

Love Ray Boltz's "Thank You" !!

Here's a song that my son shared with me. We spent about two hours on Sunday afternoon sharing praise and worship music. It's funny, I know the titles and the lyrics. David knows the guitar chords and what group sang the songs! So exciting to see him singing again and using his gift!

Artist: Jeremy Camp
Album: Stay
Song: I Still Believe

Scattered words and empty thoughts
Seem to pour from my heart
I've never felt so torn before
Seems i dont know where to start
But its now i feel your grace fall like rain
From every fingertip washing away my pain

I still believe in your faithfulness
I still believe in your truth
I still believe in your holy word
Even when I dont see I still believe

Though the questions still fog up my mind
With promises i still seem to bear
Even when answers slowly unwind
It's my heart I see you prepare
But its now that I feel your grace fall like rain
From every fingertip washing away my pain

The only place I can go is into your arms
Where I throw to you my feeble prayers in brokeness
I can see that this is your will for me
Help me to know you are near

Have a great day!!

In Him,
Edie

Wow! Edie, that is a tremendous stroy! OUr God IS truly AWESOME! That Ray Boltz song above is terrific! I'm posting "Thank You " below...I hope it's not a repeat. It's such a GOOD SONG! I also absolutely LOVE that PC&D song!

Michelle and Marcie...thanks for your testimonies and scriptures on worry...I especially love the Phillipians verse. It is encouraging to know that we are all in the same boat and can lift up one another and encourage each other to always pray and always trust in the Lord even through our most trying circumstances when we tend to fret more than pray.

THat JV song is a great one too, CS! Thanks for posting it.

Thank You

I dreamed I went to heaven
And you were there with me
We walked upon the streets of gold
Beside the crystal sea
We heard the angels singing
Then someone called your name
You turned and saw this young man
And he was smiling as he came
And he said friend you may not know me now
And then he said but wait
You used to teach my Sunday School
When I was only eight
And every week you would say a prayer
Before the class would start
And one day when you said that prayer
I asked Jesus in my heart

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I had a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

Then another man stood before you
And said remember the time
A missionary came to your church
And his pictures made you cry
You didn’t have much money
But you gave it anyway
Jesus took the gift you gave
And that’s why I’m here today

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I had a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

One by one they came
Far as the eyes could see
Each life somehow touched
By your generosity
Little things that you had done
Sacrifices made
Unnoticed on the earth
In heaven now proclaimed

And I know up in heaven
You’re not supposed to cry
But I am almost sure
There were tears in your eyes
As Jesus took your hand
And you stood before the Lord
He said my child look around you
For great is your reward

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I had a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

I am so glad you gave

My favorite hymn of all times is Be Still My Soul.......

It holds deep meaning for me.......
Be Still, My Soul
(Print the Lyrics)

Be still, my soul,
The Lord is on your side.
Bare patiently, the cross of grief or pain,
Leave too your God, to order and provide.
In every change He faithful will remain,
Be still, my soul,
Your best your heavenly friend,
Through thorny waves leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul,
Your God will under take.
To guide the future as he has the past
Your hope your confidence let nothing shake
Or now misterious shall be bright at last
Be still, my soul,
The waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them , while he lived below

Be still, my soul,
Be still, my soul
Be Still

Hey everyone! It's so good to see you. Thank you for all the songs and scriptures and testimonies! :) So encouraging.

luvndisney358, I'm so glad you stopped by and posted! I love that hymn, too. :) Hope you'll post more when you can.
