Ah Stampy, you know me well. Scary, isn't it? LOL

Whenever someone says or I see words that are in a song I know I can't stop myself. I just start singing! The other day I was at the gas station and on the pump was a sign that said "Pay before pumping, Before Sunrise and after Sunset" which got this groovin' little tune stuck in my head. So I was out there pumping my gas and singing....

Today is the 9 year anniversary of my dad's death.
I thought I'd sing Butterfly Kisses today, because I was definitely "daddy's little girl" and I always think of my dad when I hear this song.

A new pastor was visiting in the homes of his parishioners. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door. He took out a card, wrote "Revelation 3:20" on the back and stuck it in the door. When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, "Genesis 3:10." Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Sherry, that's such a great song. I didn't really have a relationship with my dad...it's wonderful that you can remember yours so fondly. I always had to leave weddings to cry when the bride danced with her dad to "Daddy's Little Girl" or anytime I heard that song.

God DID give us some time to reconcile and do some healing before my dad died. He died 6 years ago this past January. He said I would see him in heaven and I look forward to getting to make up for lost time then! Through all of the struggles though, God has always provided me with fatherly people in my life and he has been the ultimate loving Father for me. I am so greatful to Him for his provision. I don't cry anymore when I hear that song...thanks to God's healing love and great mercy that makes us whole and fills the voids when people leave us or when we lose them in death. I'm praying for you in marking this sad anniversary, but happy for you that you had such a great dad who you can look forward to seeing again!
