Christian Brando dead from pneumonia

Just logged into my homepage and saw that they are reporting the death of Christian Brando resulting from pnuemonia. Thought that was interesting on the heels of Heath Ledger's passing. Evidently Brando had been admitted to the hospital some days prior and while he wasn't as young as HL, 49 is too young to die.

Wow, what a shame, so young. It's amazing to me in this day and age that otherwise healthy people are still dying from diseases like pnuemonia and influenza.

I think there is just something about men.......they refuse to go to the doctor!!! My husband is recovering from pneumonia and it landed him in the hospital for a few days. I knew he had it for weeks but he refused, REFUSED to go to the doctor until it was almost too late....

Yes, 49 is waaay too young to die. Very sad.

Keeping his loved ones in my thoughts and prayers.

I know, it's really something.

My baby sister ended up on oxygen in the ICU and thisclose to being placed on a ventilator last year, due to pneumonia. (she was 34 at the time) It was so weird, she had what she thought was a cold/flu that just didn't seem to be getting better and then BAM, one night she just got seriously worse, left work and could not even make the 20 minute drive all the way home. She pulled over in a Walgreens parking lot and an employee called the ambulance for her. It was really scary how sick she got and how quickly she got that bad. She is an otherwise very healthy, athletic young person.

We almost lost my dad to pneumonia last year - he had never been sick in his life. He waited far too long to go to the doctor and if we had waited even one more night, he would have gone in his sleep. It's very sad that we're still losing people to such a treatable illness.

OMG, this is just crazy. These guys are dying way too early.

My daughter's boyfriend is just getting over a bout of pneumonia and after reading that people actually die from it, he was quite worried.

BTW, I just found out yesterday that the sister that got married in Meet the Parents died 3 years ago from pneumonia. It's just unreal.

I know that he had gone to jail for manslaughter some time ago, and I think he was also somehow linked to Robert Blakes dead wife at one point or another. Sounds like he had a pretty screwed up life.

ETA: I'm surprised to find out he only served 5 years for the shooting death of his sister's boyfriend. And his sister, Cheyenne, committed suicide in 1995.

Yes. Christian shot Drag Drollet and went to prison for that.

Then Cheyenne committed suicide, supposedly over her brother killing Drag.

After prison, Christian had been living like the unabomber in a shack somewhere in the NW, all doped up, when Robert Blake's dead star stalker wife tracked him down, slept with him and told him that Robert Blake's baby was actually his. Then she tried to extort money from Papa Brando for care and feeding of the baby, who she named Christian Brando. So when the star stalker was killed, there were rumors that Brando (or his father) had her killed over the baby thing.

My daughter's boyfriend is 17 and after running a fever for 5 or 6 days straight and obviously not getting any better, I called his mother and told her he needed to be seen by a doctor. She took him to the emergency room the next day. I couldn't believe she didn't even know he had the fever for such a long time (though it was only a low grade one, like 101.5 or so).

Of course, I had to call her and inform her that he son was sick initially too because he insisted that she would make him go to school.
