*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

I went to Catholic School. I knwo exactly what you mean :lmao:

Never tried Pol Roger. Hmmmm gotta try that soon.
Me too. My friend's mom was our librarian, and my other friends' dad was our Math teacher from 5-8 and homeroom teacher in 8th.

Great update Jenn...cute pic. Jordy...interested in the hott Colonial chick...she could make your bowls...:rotfl:

That's why I teach 12-year-olds -- they have no attention span either.

:rotfl2: :lmao: Believe it or not, Chelsea already has her college picked out! Connor, well, he still can't remember to brush his teeth without being told.

That makes sense -- my two would probably enjoy it for a little bit. Maybe coupled with a DC trip?

Where does Chelsea want to go to college?

Ahh memories of Catholic School.

I wonder if TGJ would want me to set him up on a blind date.

Auburn -- they have one of the best vet schools in the country (I think Cornell is one of the other ones), and she wants to be a vet. She's also planning on buying the vet practice from our vet when he retires, and she wants to buy a lime green Mustang. The girl has plans. ;)

Of course, at her age, I was convinced I would be a costume designer for movies.

8 hours on the train?

Oh my!

I have a hard time sitting anywhere for that long...probably why I don't have a desk job!

The colonial pics are great! I love stuff like that.

Tell her to stay away from Cornell. There's nothing there :lmao:

A girl with a plan is going places :thumbsup2 So glad to hear your daughter isn't one of those clueless twits.

When I was your daughter's age, I thought I'd be a millionaire. Didn't happen :sad2:

I would have probably slept though more of the ride if I didn't get whacked in the head.

More colonial pics to come :thumbsup2

Cornell is in upstate NY, isn't it?

Yes, thankfully, Chelsea is far from a clueless twit -- she is always sure that she knows it all! I am glad that she has plans and dreams!

Hey, the millionaire thing might still happen -- we're young!

Yes, wayyyy upstate. I visited in high school and decided that it was the wrong location for me.

You have a point. If I marry the ex, it'll happen sooner than later :rotfl:

Yes, it is...and there's not much up there! Great school, excellent as a matter of fact...

Go Tigers! A friend of mine graduated from Auburn in like 1992ish

Cornell would be too far for us to keep tabs on her! :lmao:

See, one more reason to get back together with the ex. :thumbsup2

We have very close friends that went to Auburn (our minister and his wife, actually). If Chelsea sticks with that idea, we are all for it. Close enough to drive over for the weekend, far enough that she feels independent.

Okay, I must be tired -- I am helping plan my daughter's college which is still seven years away! :sad2:

It is a great school. It's just so remote. Lots of time to focus on your studies.

It's really great. Just don't take the train.

I once flew from Newark to Detroit, then DH and I drove to Windsor, Ontario and took the train to Toronto. Talk about an "adventure". UGH. :headache:

DD thinks she's settled on her college pick, too. Centenary College right here in NJ has one of the finest programs for a degree in Equine Studies. (of course, what the HECK is she going to do with a degree in Equine Studies?!?!...:confused3 but.... lol)

Great Williamsburg update!!

The single colonial working woman. She's available Jordan!!!

but not much else to do on the "off hours" but :drinking1

So true. I'm sure there are lots of bars around.

Wow your daughter has a plan too. And an interesting degree choice.

Thanks :)

I thought white bonnets were your thing. And check out that neckline.

Next time I'm going to fly.

I loved that movie.

Great update. I took a train from LA to NYC and it was ok. I had fun people all around me.

can't wait for more.

I still haven read through the whole thing but it is my bed time :sad2: . I am enjoying it so far. This is actually the first Pre Trip Report I have read. I am gald I clicked on yours because I am going almost the exact same day. Aug 8-16. Maybe I will see you. We will be staying at POR and as far as I can tell I we don't have any of the same ADR.

This will be my family's (dd 14, ds 12 and dd 7)first trip to WDW. I went three times when I was under the age of 18. My DH and I have been to Disneyland twice. Once prechildren and once post children (I was pregnant with my now 7 year old at the time). DH doesn't seem to understand what the difference is but he is starting to come around. He actually watched Disney on a Dime with me last weekend. He kept saying "Are we going to do that ?" I had to explain that we were doing Disney on a nickle and so no park hopper or water parks for us.:sad2:.

Looking forward to seeing how the trip plans un fold.
