I have a feeling I read something about this on here once.

someone told me there were a few CS places that actually said the kids meals were for KIDS only.
we were at MK & he said that a couple of the places he was in had that. ( dang I forgot to look at the menu board while in there).
is this correct? they can actually NOT sell a kids meal for an adult to eat? & dang how would they tell anyway??

( but this of course came from a Veteran diz goer who also thought you could ONLY use the fast passes during the hour listed on it :rotfl2: BUT he actually carried around old previous days passes & used them during the exact hour on the pass:rolleyes: ok, ok, I know diff thread......)

You're safe at CS meals -- it's not as if they require a child to be with you at the register while you order it. I don't think you could get away with it at any table service places.

At Counter Service Places I eat Kids Meals all the time. You're right--they don't know. You can very easily be placing an order for a kid. But that's besides the point, if that's what you want, order it! Oh, and feel free to ask for the sides you want. Over at Cosmic Rays, I asked for apple slices which are technically an adult side, but I don't like grapes or applesauce, which could totally be the case on a picky child (I think I'm worse sometimes!) They had no problem giving me the apple slices, just had me ask at the counter. Anyways, moral of the story, yes! You can order a kid's CS for an adult!

As for TS, it's really up to the waiter or waitress. They don't have to allow you to order off of it, but in many cases they will. This is especially the case for kids that are 10-12 (technically an "adult" by Disney standards, but really a kid.) I've also heard that they've taken the kid's choices an made adult portions of them at Table Services (at a more adult price too...)

...only snags are if you're on the DDP, I've never been on it, just paid OOP...

If not on the DP, better chance for my DD11 to order off childs?

I'm almost 50 and I've never had a problem ordering from the kids menu at either counter service or table service. I don't do it that often at table service because the choices aren't usually that great. We've offered to pay a higher price but want just the small portion and I've never actually been charged more than the child's price.

I ordered off the kid's menu during my recent trip at CS restaurants without any issue, but I can't imagine it would be a simple task at a TS place.

is there , though an actual sign that states the items can be orderd for kids only? (someone must have a picture , if there is, you guys take pictures of everything)

oh, & my gastric bypass friend had NO problem ordering any of the kid items in TS places, like 50's prime time. WCC, garden grill, garden court food<whatever the name is> & others.

I still don't get it that what diff does diz care as long as you are spending money & its not sharing at a buffet.

A couple of weeks ago at BC at the pool CS I noticed that they had ages listed by the kids meals implying that if you are older you couldn't order it. Of course my first thoughts were that unless they asked to see who you were ordering for they really weren't going to limit a purchase - and even if they did learn it was for an adult I don't think they stop the sale. Restaurants do many psycological things on their menus to try and get the sales they want. I know - we have a restaurant! :rotfl:

Something like qualifying for a senior discount is different than allowing a sale of a fully priced (and smaller portion) item to anyone who wishes to purchase. They're just hoping you see the age and decide you don't qualify. Of course you might run into a waiter at a TS location who decides to patrol the age - probably unknown to the restaurant itself.

When you order at a CS they have no idea how many little ones,if any, that you have waiting for you outside the line.

I personally eat off the children's menu for CS. My younger son who is eleven now is a picky eater. Two years ago was the first time a waiter (at the California Grill) specifically quoted the age on the kids menu to us when I asked for the kids menu. Needless to say, I did say he will not eat anything off the adult menu and the waiter let my son eat of the kids menu.

I always order from the kids menu at CS restaurants. I've never had a problem. I've even been at the counter with my DD and ordered only 2 kids meals. I don't think they really care.

I think they would only care if you didn't buy their food at all.
