Chicks and Roosters...part 2

I am so sorry that happened to you! That would upset me big time, too. I know how those tiny little buttons on those digital cameras can be difficult to maneuver and, yes, there is often not enough protection or warning before that "Delete All Pics" option. I've come close to doing it several times in broad daylight.

Was it something like a "Delete All Pics" option or a "Format Flash Card" option that you think you hit? If it was something like "Delete All Pics", that might well be recoverable, with the right device and software. However, if it was something like a "Format Flash Card" option, the card would most likely have been totally wiped clean.

Oh no! Tricia, I'm so sorry. Like Grim said, there's a good chance you'll get them back. My friend was able to recover a pic that she deleted. I'm not sure how though. . . I'll have to ask.

Are you recovered from the trip though? I'm always tired after vacation! That and the laundry is always fun.

Hey Grim! You are still around! Yeah!

The camera lady said there is an 80% chance that they can recover the pictures if and that's a big if I didn't format the pictures. I really have no idea what I did. :sad2:

This go round staying at the condo I didn't have loads and loads of laundry to catch up on. It was really nice to throw a load in at night and dry it in the morning. I came home with very little laundry to play catch up with. :laundy:

Here's hoping for the best on those pics. :wizard:

I like the idea of doing little bits of laundry while there. We usually have to do laundry once while we're there (I wear multiple shirts, socks, etc. each day), and I end up having to do four or so full loads, which I usually have to spend a full night doing, while waiting for others in those resort laundromats. We try to time it so it coincides with a night we'd otherwise just spend at the pool. But, still, I might have to try a 1 br villa someday to get that little laundry stack unit in our place to do little bits each night like you did. It's a nice convenience.

Good Morning and I'm drinking coffee from my new Disney mug. Seems to taste better that way. :rotfl:

We tried Universal for the first time this trip. Islands of Adventure not the original Universal. One observation is that the crowds weren't anything like at Disney. I kept telling myself not to judge, go with an open mind and you'll like it. Well I'm glad I went and would like to try the other Universal park on next trip but it's not like I would go to Orlando just to go there. Without the crowds we were done that park by 1:00. I did like the Hulk roller coster and have been seeing the new Superman advertised on TV but it wasn't ready yet.

I've been to Universal in Hollywood several times, it's lots of fun. As for Orlando, we went our first trip to Disneyworld - back in 1990 I think. It hadn't been open for very long and there wasn't a whole lot to do. They were giving away free return tickets because so much was closed or under construction. The last two trips, there just hasn't been any time. I want to go when the Harry Potter thing opens though.

Oh yeah, Happy Wednesday! It's going to be a long day. I go straight from work to dinner with my cousins who are doing the Aids Lifecycle ride from San Francisco to L.A. They are passing through my area today.

Susan what a nice thing your cousins are doing. Where did you go eat?

Well this afternoon I find out about my pictures. I'm not too convinced that they'll be able to save them so if but some slim chance they did it will be a welcome surprise and I'll get to posting some pictures.

I woke up today to rain and it's supossed to do that all day. I guess the gardens need it.

It's Thursday! I'm coming up on my last free weekend for a while. Things will get busy. My cousins were so exhausted last night but they had to eat so we ate at Applebees. It seems like they have a lot of fun and the communties that they pass through really support the riders. There are about 2500 riders and they raise about 10 million on this ride alone.

I hope you get good news about your photos! Crossing my fingers for you.

Good Morning and Happy Friday.

We're going to Sam's Club today. Another one of those places that my kids love to go to. I really think it's because you can get such large Icee's there.

My pictures are lost and gone forever. :guilty: I went yesterday afternoon to pick up my card. I really didn't have a good feeling that they would be able to recover my pictures but was holding out hope for a nice surprise. I told Mark now he has to take us back to recapture all those memories. He wasn't buying it. We are actually planning our next vacation for next summer. We love going to the Smokey Mountains in Tenneessee and it's been about five or six years since we've last been there. We'll skip Disney for a year or two. Probably go back sometime in 2011.

I'm so sorry about those pictures, Tricia. :(

For next summer, I'd gladly trade you my house for a week (in Kentucky at the Appalachian foothills) in exchange for a trip to WDW. :)

Oh no. I'm so sorry Tricia. I suppose I can say at least it wasn't your first visit, but it still stinks.

I finally have a vacation I can talk about! I'm going to Italy in November. I can't remember if I talked about it before, but I found out on Tuesday that I was accepted for a special travel agent program. It's only a week but I'll visit Rome, Florence and Venice. I'm really excited!

Cool! I miss Florence. It was by far my fave part of Italy. Venice I could do without. Rome is awesome for the visual impact, but Florence is heaven on earth.

Say hi to Mr. Machiavelli for me when you stop by his tomb. :scared1:

I just thought I'd share with you all the majesty, glory and crowning achievement that will be:

my 3000th post! Not this one, but very, very soon I promise.

So, will this make me a Dis Uber Veteran? I need to get that "obedient man" tag off me.

grimley this calls for a celebration.

Susan your next vacation sounds like a winner. Italy is one place I've always wanted to go to. Probably won't get there until the last of the kids are on their own but it's definitely a place on my list. So what will you have to do for work while there?

Woo Hoo! Congrats Grim!

I don't know if 3000 makes you an uber-veteran. Look at Tricia's numbers, we're pitiful

I don't know how much work will be done. It's a tour company that's doing the trip and they want to show us how their tours are run. I'm cool with being a tourist! It's just a really great opportunity, the price was great and I got really good air prices as well.

Good Morning.

Wow Susan, no work and going to Italy cheap sounds like a winner to me. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Are there others from work going with you?

We spent a good park of the weekend at the ball park. Colin's season will be ending in a week or so. I really enjoy his games but it is getting rather hot out there.

Happy Monday everyone. I'm now well on my toward post # 4000.

We had a pretty good weekend around here. Went to Shaker Village (near Harrodsburg, KY) on Saturday and then our local waterpark yesterday. Good weather for all of it.

But DW came down with strep throat yesterday. She's on antibiotics now and on the mend. She's now the 3rd person in our family to get it (DD9 a month ago, then myself 3 weeks ago, DD9 again 2 weeks ago, and now DW). We're pretty much 95% certain that our youngest DD5 will get it soon. She has a slight cold that is going away now, but we have the eventual co-pay cost practically budgeted for when she needs a throat swab at the doc's office.

Sorry the family has been so sick. Your weekend does sound like fun though. On another thread I post on a DISer had strep about a month ago and it totally wiped her out. She has it again but not quite as bad. That's one illness that hasn't ever made it's rounds in our household. (knock knock). That's me knocking on wood. I hope your youngest daughter won't get it.

I'm still not 100% after having it 3 weeks ago. It leaves you feeling like you have Lyme disease after a few days (weak, achy, etc.). But the doc gave me a 10-day scrip for antibiotic, and I think that was a long enough time to really take care of it, with not much chance for recurrence.

My oldest DD's recurrence was definitely milder than her first go around 2 weeks earlier. She took her 5-day antibiotic scrip all the way through, but she was feeling fine within about 24 hours of the recurrence.
