Chicks and Roosters...part 2

Good morning!

I'm sorry your family has been so sick! I remember strep as a kid and it's not fun. At all.

It was a very nice weekend here. I was on the hunt for a dress to wear to my cousin's wedding. I found one but I'm not 100% happy with it. I am happy with the shoes though! This means that even if I change dresses, I'll have to find something to match my shoes.

Good Morning.

Yesterday Kendall and Colin had Dentist/Ortho appointments in the morning so my DISing was put off in the morning. If I don't get on first thing (with my cup of coffee) a lot of days I won't get on at all. Once the kids are up the computer gets taken over.

Kendall has cheer practice this morning and Colin and I will run a few errands while I'm sure Kelsie will still be sleeping soundly.

Good morning. I don't think I got on here yesterday either. I've been sooooo busy at work. That's a good thing as it makes the day go by quick!

Sounds like your kids are enjoying the start of their summer! I remember the days of sleeping in. . . I can't do it anymore. My mind starts ticking off the things I should be doing. Stinks to be an adult sometimes.

Susan this is the third week since my kids have been out of school and I haven't slept past 7:00. That's about as late as I'm ever able to sleep now a days.

Tonight we are going to the Zephyrs game. That's our local AAA baseball team. Colin really wants to catch a ball. Probably not going to happen but he's got his glove just in case.

Have fun at the game! I don't think I would be able to catch a ball but there's a good chance it would hit me in the head!

I really want this week to be over. We've been so busy at work! I head to my hometown this weekend for my niece's dance program. She's only 5 so it should be fun.

Susan I'm going to my two niece's dance recital too on Saturday. One is four the other is five. Where is your original home town?

I think Colin and I will go see UP today. Have you seen it ? I've heard it's sad in parts.

UP was awesome. We saw it at the drive in a couple weeks ago. The most sad part is of course yet another Disney female lead dying, but it's early in the movie and the female lead is Ed Asner's wife, and they had lived a long life together. Definitely not as sad as Bambi's mother or Nemo's mother dying far too young. The other sad part is seeing that they cannot have children. But both of these occur in sort of a montage early in the movie, and the rest of it is about the adventure the old man and little boy go on.

The talking dogs are hilarious.

I hope to get to see Up eventually. It looks great but I just haven't had time these last few weeks.

I grew up in Exeter, CA. It's a small town (about 9,000 right now) and it hasn't changed much in my entire 36 years. I go back a few times a year to see friends.

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

Well, we didn't see "UP" but saw "Imagine That" instead. It was just Colin and I and he thought we should wait to see UP because he knew his sisters wanted to see it too. Imagine That was cute. It was the first day out and they only had about twenty people tops in the theater with us. :confused3 We went to the first showing of the day so maybe that's why but it was at lunchtime.

Today we are going to visit the first of several colleges for Kelsie. This one is only about an hour away or less but Kelsie will still stay on campus if she chooses to go there. I really can't believe we're doing this already. Time flies.

Oh wow. Looking at colleges! I remember that. It was so much fun for me and painful for my parents.

Had a busy weekend and I can't stop yawning. My niece was adorable as a little bunny for her recital. She's such a goofy kid.

Next up is my cousin's wedding in Vegas on Friday. We leave on Wednesday. It should be fun.

Susan I knew you mentioned your cousin's wedding but I didn't realize that it was in Vegas. I love Vegas and want to go back. Mark and I will be married 20 years in October and I keep hinting about it. :rolleyes1 So is today your last day at work? It will probably be very busy trying to tie up loose ends.

When we got back in my SUV after the walking tour of SLU it was 103 degrees. Can you say hot hot hot? The tour was so nice but when you have sweat dripping down your back and every where else it's a little hard to concentrate on what they are saying. :rotfl:

Good morning.

Yes, today is my last day at work this week. I leave tomorrow morning. I am not looking forward to the heat. The last time I was in Vegas was December and it was nice! It's supposed to be hot! I don't like to sweat!

Did Kelsie like the school? Sorry you were so hot! I guess it really is summer.

Susan I'm not exactly sure when the wedding is but Vegas is such a fun town I'm sure you're living it up.

Have fun and I really wish I was there too.

Good Morning!

I'm back! And sleepy. It was quite a busy few days. Vegas was great. We had a lot of fun and it was nice meeting my cousin's new wife and bonus son. He's now the proud father of a three year old named Jake who is just the cutest thing ever. The wedding was short and sweet but it was nice. We had a nice reception afterward. There were only 19 of us but that was actually a good thing!

We arrived home on Saturday afternoon but somehow my suitcase didn't arrive with me. My parent's luggage arrived and we had a three hour layover at LAX so I'm not sure what the problem is. They delivered it yesterday which was nice. The dogs had to wait a day to get their toys.

Did you have a good Father's Day weekend?

Welcome back home Susan. Did you win? I've never been to a wedding in Vegas before. I have seen people walking through the casino with a wedding dress on though. I'm glad you had a good time. I bet Daisy really missed you. Did you have to board her or did someone watch her for you?

Gracie has an appointment with the Vet this morning. Just her annual shots but that's not fun. :sad1: This afternoon Colin and Kendall have Dr's appointments too. Kendall needs a physical for cheerleading and Colin just a check up. It looks like I'll be sitting for quite a while in different waiting rooms today.

Good Morn. . . um Afternoon!

My computer at work was down all morning. Stupid computers.

I never ever thought I'd be going to a wedding in Vegas. Especially in my family. It was in a nice chapel at the hotel and was handled very tastefully. Elvis wasn't there!

My aunt and uncle watched Daisy for me. She missed me but she survived. She's going to the vet today too. She has what looks like a very large blister/pimple thing on the incision from her spay surgery a month ago. It just appeared. My dad is taking her at three so I'm anxious to hear what they say.

I hope all your appointments went well!

Susan how did Daisy make out at the Vet? Gracie was very sore from her shots and pretty much slept most of the day.

Kendall has cheer practice today so I think Colin and I will just hang around the house and maybe have a Wii match.

Oooh! Wii matches are fun! My Wii is now currently living at my parent's house. I bought my dad a Deal or No Deal game for Father's Day but we haven't had a chance to play yet. Have fun!

Daisy is doing fine. She's got an infection where the sutures were. He drained it and now she's on med. I'm not sure the best method of getting her to take a capsule. At night I can put it in her food but in the morning she doesn't always eat. This morning I mixed it in a bit of milk and used one of those baby droppers to get her to drink it. I think I might use broth tomorrow morning, milk isn't that good for her. She's also got a double ear infection so I get to wrestle drops in her ears. It didn't slow her down at all. She's a terror on four legs and nothing stops her.

Oh Susan, poor little Daisy. She's had a few rough spots to go through in her short life. I hope she heals quickly and it's good to hear that it's not slowing her down any. Maybe that means she isn't in any pain.

Happy Friday. I'm going to take the kids to the Aquarium today. They have a really nice one in New Orleans that we haven't been to in years. It's time for a revisit today.

Good Morning!

Daisy is fine, she's had a rough start but I hope that things will settle soon. Like I said, it doesn't slow her down at all. She's always on the move.

Have fun at the aquarium! I've actually been to the one in New Orleans. . . The one on the river right? We did the aquarium/zoo/cruise thing all in one day. It was pretty exhausting but the aquarium was nice and air conditioned!
