Chick fil a

:goodvibes That would be nice; explain to me what I'm paying for at McDonald's then? ...Thursday night I drove thru and got 3 combo meals and an extra 6-pack of nuggets. The price was $42 dollars. :faint:

I agree. I can't believe how expensive fast food is these days. Nearly $10 for a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder meal that used to be under $5. The formally $1 McDouble is now $2.50.

People bust my chops for eating CFA all the time because they don't agree with their stance on certain issues but I tell them...I go there for the chicken and not for their views. Let a girl live a little and eat what she wants. Now I wish I got their chick n minis for breakfast this morning.

I tried Not to go to CFA awhile ago for reasons. It was two days before I was a CFA. Seriously their chicken is so good. Really good.

Did the stand-alone location in Toronto stay open? It seemed like some were trying to drum it out of town initially. The first Canadian Chick-Fil-A was in the Calgary airport, on the departures level behind security. It seemed like such an odd place for it. I'm pretty sure it closed within a year and we only got to try it once. It was OK (chicken sandwiches aren't a big fav of mine) and the service was typical Canadian food-kiosk service - nothing notable.
Yeah. The one at Yonge and Bloor is still there. We drove by the location a few weeks ago. Much of Toronto is like a ghost town these days, but that place was (socially-distanced) packed! It's business as usual for CFA.

The ones near me have done such a great job with adjusting to the Pandemic that they are swamped a large part of the day. Lines to get in the parking lot. They must be making a ton of money.

I’m not crazy about some of their world view and have mixed feelings about supporting them, but their food and service is really good for what it is IMO. My younger daughters go there a lot now since middle DD got her driver’s license. Oldest is vegetarian so not much there appeals to her.

I will say that I do like the food at Chick-fil-A a lot but there are better chicken sandwiches - hwever teh excellent service is almost never topped and the consistency is a plus too. I know some people don't think it's that special, but it's the overall experience, not just the food.

I think it's really meh. The last time I tried one I realized how much of an MSG bomb those things are. And it was just a piece of lettuce, a breaded chicken patty, and a bun.

Now Popeye's chicken sandwich is awesome for about the same price. And there's one close to home for me.

Yesterday I ate there for free because of the rewards points. I was able to get a sandwich and medium fries. I already had a water bottle. I also got gifted by my local Chick-Fil-A a brownie. When my kids were babies, the place was a lifeline. The was a sweet, elderly, woman who went around to the tables to check on the customers and see if they needed anything. When I'd have my baby in tow she'd bring me my tray so that I didn't have to leave my baby unattended. She'd even watch him so I could go to the bathroom. I was most grateful though when my younger son puked in his highchair. She was immediately there telling me it was okay and insisted on cleaning it up so that I could take him home.

Those waffle fries go downhill real fast. When they start to cool off the texture gets weird and the flavor just goes bland. They're pretty good while they're hot, I eat the fries first on the rare occasion I eat there.

Definitely. I like the fries when they are hot, but they do not travel well. Pro-tip: If getting takeout they have bags of waffle chips.

Same here. A zoo around the clock since the pandemic. My wife could eat chicken three meals a day, but she is not a fan of Chick-Fil-A First one here opened in 2006, so sort of new to the area. We went a few times before my wife crossed them off our list of approved fast food places. Probably would have gone more often but the only time we thought of going was for lunch on Sunday!

Ours in town is always busy. I rarely see it without a line of cars.
The last time I ate there was Pre Covid. Yes, I really like it and it stays a special fast food treat since I rarely go.

A few reasons I don't:
Price - high
Location - far from home and having to wait in line so either eat it there ( drive thru only right now) or wait until I get home and thats too long a wait when you're hungry
Support- I have different views

Finally opened one in Toronto at the mall.

At the Eaton Centre? That would have made it a lot easier for me to decide what to eat when I was there in late 2019. The food court was PACKED.

I love chick fil a. I don't agree with their views, but there are a lot of companies I do not agree with their views. I wouldn't eat or buy anything if I boycotted everything I disagreed with. As a person who has to eat gluten free, they make my life much easier. I love their grilled chicken and their fries and chick fil a sauce are to die for.

I love their grilled nuggets. My kids love the chicken tenders. I refused to go for awhile. I was so mad when they took their Chicken Salad Sandwich off the menu! :rolleyes1 Thankfully I love the grilled nuggets, so I still go. :hyper:

I love CFA! I usually get the deluxe spicy chicken sandwich combo, with the fries and lemonade. They also have very good chicken noodle soup at the one near me. I have never had anything bad at CFA.
