Chick fil a

I think it's really meh. The last time I tried one I realized how much of an MSG bomb those things are. And it was just a piece of lettuce, a breaded chicken patty, and a bun.

Now Popeye's chicken sandwich is awesome for about the same price. And there's one close to home for me.
I also don't go for reasons, but I've had it before. And I don't think it is special. Popeye's (and Zaxby's) are far superior in my opinion.

I really like Zaxby’s when I’ve traveled, but there isn’t one anywhere close to me. I think Chik Fil A’s sandwich has a bit of sweetness in the breading, Zaxby’s has a heavier spice taste to it—but not hot spicy, just flavor.

I had a salad there once on a road trip. It was good, but just a salad. There is one in my town.. I have Never Not seen a Huge line wrapped around the building with people actually directing traffic. It’s Nuts! people say it’s great tasting, is it the brine which is allegedly Very high in sodium? Some day I’ll try some .. when I see a short line, lol.

I don’t care for Chick-fil-A because I don’t like the breading they use on their chicken.

Same here, the breading always seems soggy, maybe their bake their chicken instead of frying?

I think Zaxby's chicken is much better then Chick Fil A. Don't get all the hype around them. I use the drive through, so good customer service to me is I can actually hear/understand what the person is saying and then I get the food I ordered. At Taco Bell, I never drive away until I look to see I got the food I ordered, since I frequently get the food of the car behind me..............LOL. Good 'customer service' doesn't make me go back if I don't care for the food.

We like CFA at home, but it has also become a bit of a tradition to start off our vacation with CFA at the Orlando airport! There's no reason to be hungry when you're navigating the airport on your way to ME!

People bust my chops for eating CFA all the time because they don't agree with their stance on certain issues but I tell them...I go there for the chicken and not for their views. Let a girl live a little and eat what she wants. Now I wish I got their chick n minis for breakfast this morning.
I tried Not to go to CFA awhile ago for reasons. It was two days before I was a CFA. Seriously their chicken is so good. Really good.

We don't go to CFA for ethical reasons, but recently learned that Sam's club sells "Southern Style" nuggets, chicken sandwiches, and spicy chicken sandwiches that are almost exact copies of CFA! They're great!

I still have yet to eat at a Chick-Fil-A.

I did finally eat at a Culver's and a Five Guys this past year.
I do not eat fast food often, I'd rather make a tuna sandwich if I get hungry with no options. A Five Guys opened near us and I suggested we try it this past summer when we were in the middle of a pandemic yard work frenzy and I'd signed up for Door Dash. Have to admit that it was pretty good. We've ordered once or twice since. Love that you can customize the burgers and that they come in small sizes.
I tried it for the first time just before Christmas. It was okay. Not super special. I'd eat it again but won't go out of my way for it. The best thing I had was the peppermint chip milkshake that was recommended by fellow DIS members.
I hadn't eaten there until last summer when I had a layover and was hungry. I figured I'd try it because of all the hype around Chick-Fil-A. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and I was underwhelmed. When I arrived at my sister's house, I told her that I'd tried CFA and wasn't wowed. Her being a huge fan of CFA, she took me to her local place where we waited on a huge line in order for me to order a grilled chicken sandwich that was slightly better than the airport, but nothing I'd rush back for. She told me I had to order the fried chicken, its better. I prefer grilled, so I guess I'll never know. Didn't know about the milkshake, but it sounds refreshing.

I also only order grilled chicken & don't understand the rave reviews. I've decided it must be the fried chicken options that people laud.

I never got the chance to try a CFA when they briefly opened their first UK branch near me. It was a test branch for future expansion, but despite praise for their excellent product, baying mobs forced them out over contentious issues I won't extrapolate on here for fears of breaching politics discourse restrictions. Though it's a shame because several US chains are setting their sights on the UK (Wendy's for example are re-expanding in the UK after a 20 year absence), and CFA had huge potential, given the popularity of chicken products here.

A couple of years ago, a Chick-Fil-A opened across from a strip-mall where our dry cleaners and my barbershop are located. Before CFA, it was no problem getting in and out. After CFA, it became pure bedlam as a result of the CFA customer crush. It was impossible to avoid a 15-30 minute delay getting into the strip mall anywhere around lunchtime, and traffic backed-up on the road for at least an eighth of a mile. Now between 11 am and 1 pm daily except Sunday, the police reroute access road traffic onto a long U-turn where they separate CFA and strip mall customers, and there's only a very short delay getting into the strip mall.

Personally, I don’t understand why CFA is so crazy popular, but then about the only time we eat fast food is when we’re on a road trip. It’s okay I guess (I much prefer the fried to grilled), but I think Zaxby’s is better with Popeye’s and Bojangle’s distantly coming in third and fourth.
I love chick fil a. I don't agree with their views, but there are a lot of companies I do not agree with their views. I wouldn't eat or buy anything if I boycotted everything I disagreed with.

A number of other posters have also alluded to the CFA boycott. Apparently, it has been unsuccessful. I remember the Huffington Post reporting that CFA’s sales soared after the boycott began, increasing the next year by something like 10-15%. And just last year, there was an article in one of the Washington newspapers (don’t remember if it was the Post, Times, or Examiner) reporting that CFA’s sales have now doubled, making it the third-largest chain restaurant in the U.S. behind only MacDonald’s and Starbucks. Go figure.

I've had the nuggets and like the fries well enough but it's nothing I would seek out, it's nuggets and fries. Here in PA it is like they were serving gold. There is one in a poorly designed shopping center that has lines that twist and turn 30 deep on any given evening and over the holidays they were 50 deep, jammed up intersections and required traffic cops, I don't get it.

I never quite understood the boycott. From what i heard they do a good deal for their employees.
There certainly have been many who have spoken out in their defense. I'm all for personally boycotting businesses for whatever reason one chooses; spending your money in line with your own beliefs has integrity. But the "baying mob" as @AurumPunzel aptly described it upthread is not an approach I'm comfortable with.

My oldest and some her friends love Chick Fil A and eat there regularly, they are part of a population you'd expect would want to boycott but they've said they like the food too much.

Anyone have a Raising Cane's? It's fairly new to our area. I prefer them to CFA. Thankfully the kids do, too, so I don't have to wait in the mile long CFA drive through line when they want chicken.

I can't believe how expensive Chick-fil-A is! In my opinion it is overrated. Sure, they make a great chicken sandwich, but they ask way too much for that tiny piece of chicken with a tiny sliver of lettuce. And what is with those nuggets? The first time I ate there I seriously thought it was a joke when I ordered nuggets and got these little morsels of chicken.

I’m all about convenience and the CFA mobile ordering with pick up is so fast and awesome. We’ve done it several times for last minute lunches or dinners. Haven’t been in awhile for breakfast but I really love those little mini sandwiches. Plus with the rewards you can’t beat it! I do miss the cow calendar though, lol.

Sadly our Zaxby’s in town isn’t very good. Though I’ve had it elsewhere and really enjoy their food. My husband likes the Bojangles but I have yet to try it. Wish we had a Popeyes. What can I say, I love a good piece of fried chicken
