OK, I'm sorry, I don't usually take on our American Cultural Religion, enamored as it is with fundamentalism and literalism, but for the sake of us all, here goes, The following are the REAL biblical imperatives:
1. You were created for great things, namely the gift and the challenge of forging real relationships, full of integrity and respect with each other, the world, and your creator;
2. You were created for great things, namely the gift and the challenge of working creatively in the world, taking great risks, and doing truly new things;
3. You were created for great things, namely giving birth to, nurturing, guiding, and mentoring the next generation so that they too will know that they were created for great things.
You are going to find these three reasons for living tough going at times and so you are going to need faith that you can live up to them. You will, with grace, forgiveness, and mercy.
That's it. That's biblical theology. I think lots of companies have lived and thrived based on those principles, though I'm sure that the majority would not have named them "biblical" principles.
