CHICAGO/O'HARE Meet 11/12/05 - There's a PIC near the end!!!

I'm more of a "lurker" on the boards here at the DIS, and would have loved to join in on this Chicago meet...unfortunately (or I guess fortunately) I will be enjoying the final day of Food and Wine, then off to board the Wonder for 4 days!

I'll have to keep an eye out for the next meet!

It is my first meet, although Bethany and I have met

I couldn't make the meet last year (and I was so disappointed) but I had lunch reservations and tickets to the American Girl theatre that day with a friend and her DD.

Thanks for the tip for my DD but she just started seeing a new guy and is considering coming to the meet (maybe with him). I'll keep you posted!

I hope I'm not too late but I won't be eating any pizza (I really don't like their pizza and it's too much for me right now) but Mike and Britt would eat it. So I will just get my own order and they will probably be fine with the package. Sorry to be a pain but I'm more comfortable not eating the pizza.

I totally understand, Chris. I don't think we can do the party package anyway. It would just be even MORE confusing to have people/groups of people/checks/sep orders etc. all over the room. It would've been easier I think, but if it's not unanimous, I don't think it's doable.

I have been real busy with my new full time job. I got hired on at the new Lowe's down the road, and between training, now getting the store ready to open, and football I don't get here very much anymore.

As for my party, it will be just me most likely. Dewain and I would rather not worry about what all the kids are getting into.

Scott, have you tried the O'Hare/Rosemont/DesPlaines/Park Ridge/Niles/Harwood Heights/Norridge/Norwood Park area? All those pretty much surround the Gino's on Higgins.

Yes, yes, and it's just West of Cumberland, on Higgins, East of River Road. It's set back off the street, among office buildings, so look for the sign at the Driveway entrance, that's all you'll see.

It's a little more $ than I expected, but it will be nice getting up on Sat. morning to go to the mall and then stop and "freshen up" before driving down for the meet. Plus they have the free hot breakfast, so I guess that's not too bad! See you guys next Saturday!

That was a priceline rate! I know we could have got a cheaper rate down by O'Hare, but we really wanted to stay in Gurnee, right by the mall. Last year we got a Comfort Inn in Waukegan for $38, but it was kind of a hassle going anywhere.
