Chicago (Michigan Ave) Disney Store?

Hi all Chi-town DISers!

We live out in DeKalb IL and were wondering if was worth a drive to downtown Chicago to go to the Disney Store on Michigan Ave. Is there anything special about this location or is it just like all the other mall Disney Stores? Do they sell any special merchandise you can't find at a typical Disney Store? Any special decor or other things that set it apart?

This Disney store is awesome, but I don't know if it's worth a special trip. The store is just alot larger than your average mall Disney Store, and the merchandise is basically the same.

If you are going to Chicago for the day, than go, but I wouldn't waste the money in gas or parking to go only there.

I completely agree. I think the Michigan Avenue Disney store is unique in it's location and nothing else. I love Michigan Avenue. We have recently moved back to Pennsylvania after living in Chicago. I miss being able to go downtown. Like slo said, if you're going to Chicago, definitely stop in, but don't make a special trip.

I think its the same - we usually take the train into Union Station and then ride the Bus 151 Sheridan up to State Street, over to Michigan Ave - and we hop off at Water Tower Place - walk south to disney store - across the street and back north and over a bit to American Girl Store...

but we dont make a special trip - its usually much more crowded then our mall store!!

Thanks for the replies everyone. We'll stop by the Michigan Ave location during our next trip to the Field Museum or Shedd.
