Yesterday was such a yucky day!!!
*I purposly skipped taking my Zyrtec Saturday night (I'm trying to make it last, because I can't refill it until Kevin's new benefits kick in), and I woke up yesterday with such a headache, which then made me very nautious (sp?). We had errands to run, so we went out to breakfast, and I ordered some pancakes, but I couldn't eat it:sad2: So I got some toast and Sprite, and that was my breakfast. I did take some Aleve, and the headache started to get a pinch better, but never gone. We did our errands in the rain :umbrella: until about 3:30pm, and we finally got home. I got the girls ready for bed early, made a light dinner, and we were in front of the tv by 6pm:happytv:
*I took my Zyrtec last night, and this morning I'm feeling much better :thumbsup2

Rose - :wave2:

HERSEY - Isn't it nice that Alex is old enough to help you with the tree. As hard as it is for us to see our kids grow up, it does have some benefits ::yes:: For me, it's when I have tons of towels to fold - that is now Stephanie's job :thumbsup2

geffric - That's great that you made some dinner for the rest of the week. I need to do that sometime - it would make our lives easier :)

Mac - Thanks for covering our backs yesterday - I didn't go to church, because I didn't feel 100%.
**Thanks for the listings!!!

Well, I'm off and running - I got lots to do this morning
Have a good day today!!

good monday morning chicagoland homies..

hope you feel good all day long slo. headaches are no fun, no way..

wishing you all a great monday

Good morning all

Just a quick stop by to say hello.

Just got home last night from Disney World.

It is very nice there with all the Christmas decorations. I spent so much money on Disney Plush and Christmas Hats.

The Christmas lights at MGM were amazing. I teared up a bit when they turned them on. Now I do not know how I will be able to not see them every year.

The Very Merry Christmas Party was awesome. My kids loved the cookies and hot chocolate and the ride times were quite low.
Wednesday and Thursday the park was really not that busy but on Friday and Saturday it was very busy. Felt like summer crowds but just not as hot.

I will go into more detail soon just have so much to do now that I am home.

Talk to you all soon

Woohoo! I feel like I just won the lottery. I scored Megan & I two tickets to see Hannah Montana in Disney Digital 3D on February 2! I am going to give her the confirmation sheet in a Christmas card! She's going to flip out! I can't wait to see her reaction.

I had a good weekend except DH (minus the D) was a pain in the neck all weekend. Sheesh! What is up with men, it's not like they get a period or anything. They really have no excuse when they're crabby... at least we have an excuse. :rotfl: I got some more things organized in the house and the kitchen got a thorough cleaning. I got a wee bit panicked after reading this newspaper article about the most common areas of the house to pick up a flu/cold bug. Most common, the faucet handle in the kitchen and refrigerator door. Actually areas in the kitchen are far more likely than even the bathroom. Well both of them got a thorough scrubbin cause I don't want no one sick for Christmas. My house smells a wee bit antiseptic-y though, so I tossed a Yankee Christmas Cookie tart in the old tart burner. Now it smells like a hospital that bakes!

Well, it's Monday and I got lots to do, but I just wanted to stop by and say Hi! Hope everyone is doing well after the weekend. I haven't had time to read just yet... How about that ice on Saturday night eh? :scared1: That was scary!!

Well, take care and talk more later!

Sam

Morning everyone.
First, sorry I've been MIA for so long. Just busy.
Slo and Leigh, sure hope you are feeling better.
Disneynut welcome home, we'll be waiting for pix and report.
Sam, I also got four tickets for that concert in 3D for Feb. 2. The 2:30 show. It will be a stocking stuffer. Better to see it at the theater than at the Allstate I am thinking.:thumbsup2 Slo, we will be at the theater by you.
Mac, thanks for having our backs once again. We always can use the extra thoughts and prayers. And thanks for the listings. Looks like Sunday is going to be a great Disney day.
Now if I only had a big TV to watch the shows on. Our sound went out on the big TV so we only have the 9inch or the 13inch.:sad2:
DH finally has a good excuse to upgrade to a big plasma or LCD TV. And you better believe he's been doing that homework.:rotfl:
Crissup, I sure hope CarolAnnC is taking advantage of her proximity to DL. I would love to do the Haunted Mansion there for the holidays, not to mention the rest of the park decorated for the holidays.
bigben, great to hear from you. Bet you are all getting excited for your holiday trip. Come back with a trippie for us and some pix.
Hi Rose, geffric, Hersey, Becky, and all the rest of the Chicago area lurkers. Have a great day. I need to get my butt in motion and organize these PTO files and pick up my kitchen. I need some groceries here too or we will be living off sandwiches or cereal.:rolleyes1
Later all.

Howdy all!! :wave2:

Hope everyone was safe during the ice storm the other day.
The kids and I were at a holiday workshop at the local nature center when the snow first started. It was so pretty!!
But by the time we left it was starting to rain/ice/slush.
It was so icy when DH came home that he couldn't even get his van in the driveway, it was too icy!!!

My mom's doing better. Although the meds the doctor gave her to take ended up giving her an allergic reaction!!! Not fun!

DH has been working 2nd shift lately at an office building downtown after everyone has left for the day that work there. So the kids have not seen much of him of late.
Our schedules are so up in the air now! It's just crazy.

And unlike some of you I have not started much Christmas shopping yet. I really need to get with it before what I need to get is gone!!! ;)

slo Congrats to Kevin on his new job!!! Hope all is going well!
I'm going to call you some time this week for sure! :thumbsup2
Stephanie is going to love getting Julie!!! Her locker is so neat!

Sam & Tiggerrn I think I'll be getting Lauren tickets for that Hannah concert too. I see that Tiggerrn said she has tickets for the 2:30 time. What time do you have tickets for Sam?

Leigh Glad to hear you're feeling better. We have that lingering cough thing going on here too! :sad2:

Disneynut Good to hear that you liked MVMCP!!! We loved it!!

Gotta run! Hunter will be home soon.
Have a great day everyone!:hippie:

They must already be sold out in Schererville because that wasn't even an option, I tried. The only ones left were Rosemont and Downtown. I figured if the weather were bad, we could always take the train downtown. Hopefully, it won't be brutally cold or something! Then I'm driving!!

I got tickets for the 3:00 p.m. show on 2/2 at the AMC on Illinois! Shouldn't be a big problem getting there!

Not only is Digital 3D awesome, but the tickets were a heck of a lot cheaper!

Evening all.
Sam and Bunchkin, they are still available at Kerasotes in Sherriville. I ordered them through Fandango.com. Checked again just now and would still be able to purchase more. Probably not for long though. Tonight, DD was watching Disney channel and they are advertising on the commercial for the 3D movie that tickets are available for purchase now. So that ought to get them all moving. :rotfl2:
Bunchkin, good to hear from you. Please pencil us in for a 1 day visitation during winter break. We have vacation 12/22 - 1/6. No plans as of yet, so I'll let you pick a day if that is OK with you. Maybe several of us could get together somewhere.
Hope your mom is OK soon. pixiedust: to all of you to get rid of the sickies before the holidays, and good luck with your shopping. DS wanted that Ultimate BumbleBee from Transformers, and I just lucked into it at Target when I arrived at opening to get that darn Wii. Thank goodness since DS was firm in his conviction that even if we couldn't get it in any store, those dreaded elves could build it in the shop. :rolleyes1 :lmao:
Well, I'd better get to the rest of my PTO work. Meeting tomorrow to plan our Holiday Shop. Did you all find some nice things at your school holiday workshops? I hope what we get doesn't wind up to be too junky.

Hi Everyone!! I'm Home!! Spent two days in Disneyland. This is the first time in 15 years that I've gone to a Disney theme park and not stayed on property. As I've always warned people, it really makes a huge difference. It really just ends up feeling more like a day trip and you're exausted by the end of the day. As a result, we didn't even get to catch the holiday fireworks on either day because we were just too tired.

Otherwise, as always, Disneyland has a way of outdoing WDW in spite of it's smaller size. The holiday haunted mansion is phenominal!! And I was very impressed with the happy holidays Small World. I was expecting to simply see lots of christmas decorations peppered through out the attraction, but they actually pulled things out and moved them completely around to rearrange the attraction. Well worth seeing!!

Hope everyone is doing well!!

since you brought it up john...................

now looking forward to august and nov/dec pics ..

yaaa :yay: :yay:

Mac - You got a new tag!!!!!   It's so cool - Congrats!!! :cheer2:

Disneynut - Welcome home!!!! :) I couldn't agree more about The Osbourne Spectacle of Lights - they are amazing!!!!!! :goodvibes I hope they plan on having them for a long time so I can take the girls to see them - they would love it too!!!!! :goodvibes

Sam - Congrats on getting those Hannah Montana tickets - Megan is going to be so excited!!!! :yay:

Tiggerrrrrnnnnnnn - Congrats on getting your tickets also - Kellie is going to love it!!!! :yay:
**I'm sorry to hear about your tv troubles:guilty: That's a bummer for that to happen right before Christmas.
**To answer your question about the school holiday workshop - I was very disappointed this year with the higher prices:guilty: Stephanie was spending her own money, and she didn't have tons to select from in a less expensive price range. She did the best she could though, and spent a total of $24 for everyone - I was so proud of her for using her own money!!!! :goodvibes

Bunchkin - I"m sorry you haven't seen Tony much lately - that's gotta be hard
**I'm also sorry to hear about your mom - how is she doing now? I'll send alot more PD her way :wizard: :wizard:
**Thanks for the congrasts on Kevin's new job. He's having an extrememly hard time adjusting to the drive, especially the drive home. There's alot of traffic, and it's very frustrating to him. It's been taking him 40 minutes to get there, and 1 hour to get home:guilty:
**If you don't have a chance to call this week I totally understand!!!

Crissup - Welcome home!!!! I"m glad you had a nice time in DL :)

Well, it's time for me to start getting my morning chores done around the house :laundy:
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hello, all! We're back from our first magical trip to the World during the holiday season. Wow! What an amazing job they do! I did *not* want to leave the sunny, 75-80 degree Florida weather (we had drinks outside at the POP Century pool at nine o'clock at night, wearing shorts and t-shirts!) to come back to Chicagoland and the *snow*!! We had a truly wonderful time. We were able to visit with my sister and her family (they met us and stayed at the same hotel we were staying in on the drive home) and then visited with Mark's family in Louisville, KY also on the drive home, so we combined a Disney vac with a family get-together.

Now I have to catch up on all the *other* Christmas things...putting up "our" decorations, finishing up shopping for gifts, wrapping gifts, doing the Christmas cards...all that good stuff...plus, I go back to work :( tommorrow...

hope you all have a great day!!!

Hi all!

Welcome back DonnaW, Crissup, and Disneynut from WDW and Disneyland!

Congrats to all that got the Hannah Montana 3-D movie tix!

Well, I have some wonderful news! First, it's been a heck of a year for my family, immediate and extended family. Lots of ups and downs, extended family and immediate family illnesses and such. Only a very few of you know what's been going on with me and my family.

Well, a couple of blessings and good news to share :goodvibes
First, I was interviewed for this newspaper article yesterday.
My family and I will be mentioned in a newspaper article tomorrow(Wed) in the Neighborhood section of the Daily Herald- Northwest Edition!!
There is going to be an article written up about this children's Christmas party we attended this past Saturday. We go to it every yr for I think 6 yrs now. It is thru our Township. Well, I got picked as one of the parents to have a phone interview with a reporter yesterday! Reporter asked me questions about the children's party, etc. Asked my name, DH's name, and my children's names. Reporter stated we would be mentioned in the article! This kinda came out of nowhere! I don't usually get the newspaper, but I guess I'll look it up online tomorrow :) Don't know if any other parents were interviewed as well, but hey, this is cool anyways!

My other blessing, this is pretty big! I won 4 round-trip airfare tickets to Orlando, FL, from one of the local radio stations!! :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3:
I found out a couple of weeks ago that I won! Got my paperwork in for them already and I am supposed to get my prize this week or next week!! :woohoo:
So now I can start planning a UO/ WDW vacation soon, for 2008!
DH, I, Chrissy, and Matthew are very thrilled with the win! It couldn't have come at a better time ;)
Sounds like the kids want to do more of the dark side (Universal) for this trip.
We can maybe buy 2 day hoppers for WDW- don't know yet, as we will be on a tight budget for this trip. Haven't talked about when in 2008 we are going yet, but got time to plan all this later ;)
It really has been a blessing for this win! God works in mysterious ways and just knows my heart :cloud9:

Hi to all and take care.
Hope the snow isn't as bad as the weather people say it's going to be.

Rose,
Congrats on your win!! I can't think of anyone here that will appreciate and enjoy that vacation more. And yes, God does work wonders for the right reasons.
Hope your family problems resolve themselves soon.:grouphug:
Hi to everyone else. Lots more running to do today. When it rains it pours. Van brake light kept flashing at me, so had to get that checked out. Low on fluid. Suddenly a $30 oil change turns into $125. Oh, well. Not retiring this year, I guess. :lmao: Or next year, or the year after that..........
Whatever, I have just resolved myself to live the life I have to the fullest of fun that I can and not sweat the small stuff. :rolleyes1
Hope you all have a great day!! Stay warm and I hope we all stay snowless!!!!! Or at least have less than 3-6 inches of snow they are calling for.
Welcome back from vacation Crissup and Donna. Pictures please!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of us live vicariously.

Sorry you had to pour $$ in your van :sad2:
It sucks to have to pour money in car repairs. We had to spend about $1,300 to rebuild our van's radiator and replace the water pump last month.
That's what happens with auto repairs I guess.

Welcome back everyone who was at Disney.

Rose -- Congratulations!! :cheer2:

Kind of a quick post -- I just got an e-mail that the Hannah/Miley movie will be playing at Charlestowne 18 and Lake Theatre -- just thought I'd give you a heads up for anyone interested. I know other places have already been listed but I was wondering about Charlestowne and I saw a poster for it there last time I was at the mall -- so thought it odd to have a poster but not have the movie.

I went ahead and got DD tickets! The best news is I called one of her friends that she doesn't get to see very often & they are coming too. YIPPEE!!! I do believe those are going to be part of a Christmas present. There was no way we could afford the concert (plus we are busy now anyway between her gymnastics, Christmas play practice, cheerleading, on & on & on stuff that all seems to hit in December).

Mac - You got a new tag!!!!!   It's so cool - Congrats!!! :cheer2:

thanks slo. you are the only one that has noticed it so far.
i lost all my tags on sunday.
did receive 3 new ones to replace them.

then on monday, had one new tag switched for a former tag that i won in the wpasadi contest.

i grinned like an idiot when i saw i had a scrolling tag.
they're kewl.

it started snowing up here at 2:30 today and still snowing.
since i am 1.5 miles from lake michigan, i'll probably get more lake effect snow than those in the city.

i'm working all week.
forgot how busy that makes me.

just 3 more work days until the weekend now!

rose, congrats on the big win.
you deserve it.
