Today has been so busy!!

So busy that I ended up late for 'eat with you child day' at DD's school. Luckily, DH went also but in his own vehicle and got there on time!!

Good morning! Looks like today might be a little cloudy. Hopefully dry, I need to take back my side yard from the weeds. I have dandilions in my flower bed.

I still can't believe it's May already. Yes I know we are 5 days into May. Time goes way to fast I can't keep up.

Well got to start the laundry otherwise we may have to do everything inside away from the windows

Last night Stephanie took a turn for the worse so we aren't doing anything today (well, I'm still going to a wedding tonight, my mom's watching the girls). We were suppossed to go to my best friends DD's first communion today up at Lake in the Hills, but we aren't doing that now But my friend of course understood, so we'll have to see them another time. Now I'm just praying that Katie doesn't get this virus (I'm assuming a virus) Oh well, I guess all this is happening at a good time, because it's before the store opens


poohlovermom - I love garage sales for kids toys, especially bigger toys. I got the best Playschool Vanity for Stephanie's room at a garage sale for dirt cheap - it was awesome!!!!

Becky - I don't know anything about these, but they look great There's a place by me that has voice lessons, and I'm thinking about taking Stephanie when she's in middle school - she has a very nice voice when she trys to sing nice.

Debbie - Thanks for the congrats
**Take lots of pictures when you stay at AKL so we can see them. I would love to stay there someday. Are you getting the safari view?

Bunchkin - Eat with your child day sounds fun - I wish Stephanie's school did that. Everything is going well with the store - the last coat of paint went on yesterday The security company is coming Tuesday, than the lights and ceiling tiles go up and then all I need is the carpet - which hopefully comes in a timely fashion

HERSEY - It really is amazing that it's May already. I need to start about planting flowers soon I did it this time last year and some of my flowers got frost bite, so I may do it next Saturday (hopefully the weather will be good ) But I do need to pick up my tomato plants, and custom pots Monday, but those can be moved into the garage if there's a threat of frost



Well, I must go and make Katie some breakfast and give Stephanie a banana (I'm keeping her on a bland diet). Have a great day!!!

Well, we put a contract on a house on Thurs! We are closing in mid- June! It is an awesome old house. It has been updated, but still has all of the character I love about old houses. It also has a huge yard! I am so excited!
Off to take the kids to the park! Hopefully, the sun will come out soon! Have a great Saturday!

Happy Weekend to All!!

It was cloudy here also......hoping for a GREAT day tomorrow. DH and I are going up to Milwaukee to have lunch with DD19 and stop at Milwaukee Public Market - suppose to be a fun place with food vendors located inside and outside.

Today at work we had a pet photographer come in and take pictures of dogs with either a Cubs or Soxs background. Very Very Cute

Have been checking airfare for WDW and am thinking of running away by myself at the end of the month!! Found airfare for $138!!! Woo Hoo and staying at POP for $60 a night So going to visit DD22 soon YAY!!! and just getting away by myself.

Slo - Hope you daughter is feeling better. How was the wedding? In answer to your question - we average anywhere from 25 - 40 dogs Monday through Friday just for daycare and then there are the boarding dogs....I guess Doggie Daycare is the modern day idea for your dog.

paintnolish - Congrats on the house - where is it located?

Hope all of you that are planting your gardens are having a fun time. In a time long ago - BC (before children) I used to have a garden....just don't have the time energy to BATTLE those weeds.

Hey, Slo. Sending Stephanie a little Hope she is feeling better soon.
Had a long day at work. Pushed with a patient nearly 3 hours and then she needed a C-section anyway. My feet are tired!!!
Hope you all are having a nice weekend. I am calling it an early night and going to bed when the kids do shortly.

Hoping all is better in the Slo household.

Builder came out and tore out my driveway on Thursday and replaced it on Friday. Can't drive on it until Monday. However, they did not replace the apron, since it wasn't messed up. So, I decided to hurry up and sealcoat it since we couldn't drive on it anyway. The instructions say do not apply if rain is predicted within 24 hours. I knew I probably wouldn't have time to do it tomorrow and I kept looking at the cloudy skies and the forecast calling for 30% chance of rain. I finally decided to roll the dice and take the gamble. Hoping if the rain does come, it won't be very hard and the sealcoat will be dry by then.

So......last night I'm minding my own business watching tv, and out of the corner of my eye I see this thing crawling on my blanket . I quickly brushed it away, and I see this decent sized spider crawl away into the crack of the couch - freaked me out!!!! I demanded that Kevin come kill it, and he just rolled his eyes and said, "give me something to kill it with" I gave him a HUGE wad of tissue (of which he only used a couple) and he grabbed it, squished it, and threw it in the toilet I then had to go look in the toilet to make sure he really got it so I could relax. He did, but I still couldn't relax so I went to bed (it was 10pm anyway). So...I learned something about myself last night - I'M A WIMP!!!!!!



Thanks to everyone for your positive thoughts for Stephanie to feel better It worked!!!!! She felt so much better yesterday Unfortunatly, my mom didn't want to watch the kids with Steph being sick (she was afraid of getting sick herself) so we didn't go to the wedding Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes

Chris - Those pet pictures sound so fun!!! My mom's had some professional pictures taken of her dog, and they are so nice
**Wow, there's alot of dogs that go to doggie daycare My Lab (that we only had for a year) would have liked this because he had some seperation anxiety.

Tiggerrrrnnnnn - Pushed for 3 hours I'm so grateful I never had to go through that.

Crissup - I"m so glad that your driveway is fixed and that nightmare is over We have to sealcoat our driveway too - it always looks so nice after it's done.

HERSEY - I still relaxed in front of the tv until that spider crawled on me than the relaxation was over

Good Sunday morning eveyone!!


Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!

DH is putting the paver blocks in the front yard today. He was up early doing all the prep work for them. So now we get to go pick out new bushes and plants and bulbs!!!
At our old house we had put in so many nice plants and flowers that were blooming wonderfully, that when we moved into the new house it looked so bare in comparison it made me and the kids sad and miss our old yard!!!


DH goes back to work tomorrow!!
He's feeling much better since his surgery.



John Glad the driveway work is done and you got to sealcoat too!


slo I'm glad to hear Steph is feeling better!
Too bad you didn't get to go to the wedding though.
I HATE spiders!!!! I'm going to Sam's Club today to buy the giant sized spider killer stuff they have!!!

Slo I don't think I could relax either. Though I'm the spider killer here, though. Alex is not a bug lover.

When I was still living in my parents house, my bedroom was in the basement. The entire basement had acoustical ceiling tile installed for improved sound proofing. It was the 12 inch celing tiles with little holes drilled all over them.

Anyway, there was a time when there was a spider living in one of the tiles right over my bed. I used to go to bed and fall asleep watching the spider crawl across the celing tiles right over my head.

People used to freak out when they heard, thinking that it would fall on my head while I was sleeping. For all I know, it probably finally landed in my mouth while I was sleeping and I ate it. LOL!! I know there's a statistic that says the average person eats x number of spiders in their life time while sleeping. I forget what that number is.

Hey, Chicago DIS-ers!

How is everyone?? I'm so sorry I haven't been by. Things are kind of crazy. Well, not really crazy, I'm trying to keep myself really busy. I hardly log on to the DIS anymore because I spend so much time on myspace Plus, last week, I was on jury duty for the entire week!! I served at 26th and California too. At least I didn't have to go to work, I guess. And at night and on the weekends, I try to find something to do so I'm not home moping around.


I've been having a lot of fun though, meeting new people and getting re-acquainted with old friends
I hope everyone is doing well.

Good evening everyone. Busy day at work. Came home to find empty (except for the puppy) house. DH and the kids went to DSIL for dinner to celebrate in-laws anniversary, birthdays and Mother's Day. Nice to sit and watch Desperate Housewives uninterrupted.
