Hi all. This is my first post in about two weeks. My mil past away and we had all that to deal with in kc.The service was beautiful. I know that she is at peace in heaven but it is still hard esp. since she was our last parent.:sad1: I feel so sorry for my kids they are 5,8 and 14 and still should have a grandparent to dote on them. God in his wisdom does everything for a reason. Oh when I got back from kc I realized my cc# had been stolen. We think maybe in kc. They charged up 7,000 in charges. The disney visa card # traveled quite a bit from Paris, for opera tickets to Zurich Africa and Quebic. Even though I'm not responsible for the bill do you think maybe I could keep the disney reward dollars.:lmao: Well thanks for reading. Hope to get back in the dising grove again.:cool1:

Hi all!!

I just wasted 3 1/2 hours of my life that I'll never get back!!! GRRR!!
I hate days like today!! :headache:
Went to the eye doctor for a check up but they didn't have the magnetic sunglasses I wear anymore, so they sent me to their other office.
They didn't have any either!!!!.....this was after I was assured they had a ton!! :headache:
So I went all the way back to the 1st office to have them write my script out so I can get new glasses somewhere else entirely!!!!

October My vote is for Wicked!!! I've seen it twice and want to go again!!! It's just fabulous!!!! :yay:
American Girl Place is the best!!! Wait till you get there, you'll be lost in all of it!!!!! :yay: We've taken our DD their a dozen or so times and it's always just the best time!!

piglet The lemonade stand sounds great!!!! And how excited your son will be to talk to a reporter!!! COOL!!!
I think we might be able to swing by that day!!
Will you remind us all of it again when it gets closer to the date, just in case!?! ;) :goodvibes

poohlover So sorry for your loss!
I'm glad you're not responsible for all of those charges to your CC.

mvazul Great pics!!! :teeth:

Ok, I'll try again with some more pics!!
I transferred some pics from Kodak to another site. So let's see if this works.

Please let me know if you guys can see these or if there are still red x's!
Thanks!! ;)

I can see the pictures and they are really nice! I love Hunter's smile with Donald! He looks pretty darn happy!!

:rotfl2:

He was trying to smile really big AND keep his eyes from squinting, as he occasionally does when taking pics of him. He's getting better! :)

Here he is at The Walnut Room at Macy's in December with one of their elfish freaky mini-dudes!! We had a great table right near the BIG tree!!
Hunter thought this elf was awesome!! (date on the pic is obviously incorrect!!)

Sue:

This one was taken on a day off from school in March.
Lauren and Megan had taken Hnter's stuffed Cookie Monsters and put them in Lauren's Barbie remote control car!!

Yep, looks like they were having some serious fun that day! :rotfl:

Where do they come up with that stuff??

Good beautiful afternoon all!!!!
What a busy day this has been. Staff meeting, ballet, school project, and of course there is always some of :laundy:
poohlovermom:hug: so sorry for your loss.
Bunchkin those pix are great!!! What camera were you using then? The pix are nice and clear.
Having the kids family b-day party tomorrow. Need to order the Subway sandwiches tonight for pick-up. And get an ice cream cake for dessert. Have fruit to cut up for a fruit tray and some dip/chip. Got this awesome dip from Harry and Davids. It's a relish dip you mix with cream cheese. It is so good. Some chips and brownies and that's it. I think my aunt is bringing a veggie tray also. Hope I have enough food.:rolleyes1
I still have to plan DS kid party. He wants to go bowling. I hope the little bowling alley by us can do that one day after school. Saturdays are just too busy for people right now.
Hersey, LOVE that castle. Great job!!!
Sandy, I was in your area yesterday. Had to run to Merriville to pick up ballet stuff for DD Peter Pan costume stuff. What a lot of running for this show. I sure hope she does a good job.:rotfl:
Well, better run. DH just finished burgers on the grill. Time to eat!!!! Then I have my first softball game of the season tonight. Old Lady Softball :rotfl2:
We will be playing the best team on the league. So we'll just chalk this one up for practice.:rolleyes1 :lmao:
Later.

Octoberbeauty, I would second and third WICKED. It was a great show.
The Shedd Aquarium is great and you can't go wrong with the Science and Industry or the Field Museum. Are you here for the whole weekend or just one day? Navy Pier is a fun place to wander around if you have the time.
Enjoy your stay.

Bunchkin cute pictures. Lauren looks like she is modeling.

I went to Alex's school to see the castles the other kids made. I think I would give the dad's an A. Help, assist but keep it a 12 old kid project people.
One dad had a routed wooden base with glass inserts so you could see the little goldfish swimming :lmao:

October if you go to Metromix.com you can put in your dates and search by a certain area http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/

poohlovermom Sorry to hear about your MIL. How awful about your credit card too. What a way to add insult to injury. It would be nice if they forgot to take away those rewards though ;)

Thank you sooo much for the information everyone. You've given me a lot to think about and research. :cheer2:

Thank YOU, SLO, for starting this great thread and, CONGRATS on its continued success!!! :thumbsup2 :grouphug:

Just got a call from one of the Herald News/Lincoln-Way Sun. I had sent an e-mail telling about the upcoming lemonade stand, and was hopiling to get some coverage. Anyways. the reporter is very intrigued and wants to write a story about it. We are to call back when Nathan gets home so he can talk to him too!
This is SOOO COOOL!!! :woohoo: Let us know how that turns out! (Kelly will be at Brownies that morning so, we can't make it but, we wish him HUGE PROFITS! :cool1: )

 and :grouphug: to ALL!!!!

:woohoo: :yay: HOORAY FOR FRIDAY!!!!!!:yay: :woohoo:

Stephanie is not going to school today. I had to pick her up yesterday from school because of a bad stomachache, and she even started running a small fever last night. I told her last night about not going to school today, and she agreed that would be a good idea. Than this morning I went to cover her up, and she was already awake. I reminded her she wasn't going to school, and she said she knew, but her stomach still really hurt. I don't know what to think about this stomachache :confused3 I guess only time will tell:rolleyes:

I see everyone is reintroducing themselves on here, so I thought I would do the same. My name is Sandy (35) and my DH's name is Kevin (36). We have 2 girls named Stephanie (8 1/2) and Katie (3 1/2). I am opening my own custom picture framing store in June (some people already know about this store, and this is the first time I'm talking about it openly on The DIS), and DH is a mechanical engineer by career, and also a volunteer fireman/EMT here in our town. Stephanie loves to dance and do gymnastics, and she's been doing this since she was 2. Katie is not involved in anything due to her dislocating her elbow when she was 18 months old, but she may start ballet this summer.

I don't know if any of you saw, but Dan and Marie's dog Doc passed away this week:sad1: (that would be DanMurphy for those that are new here). Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this very sad time.

Bunchkin - I can see the pictures now!!!! :woohoo: They are great pictures too!!! I love that one of Hunter with Donald Duck - he's got an awesome smile :teeth: That picture of Lauren with her pink hat is so cute too :cutie: You have such cute kids!!!!!:goodvibes

Octoberbeauty - Hi there, and welcome to our thread!!!!! I'm glad you felt comfortable to come here for travel advice. I hope you have a great trip to Chicago, and don't forget to get a sundae at Ghiradelli's - there yummy!!!!!:goodvibes

Chrismiss - Do alot of people bring their dog to the dog daycare? I think it's a great idea, and I was always curious if alot of people utilize it. :dog:

mvazul - I love your collages!!!!!!:) Getting them framed would be great!!!! To bad you don't live closer, because I could do that for you.

piglett too - Your sons lemonade stand sounds great - you must be so proud of him!!!! I won't be able to come, but I would love to hear how it went. Tons of PD to him for lots of business!!!:wizard:

poohlovermom - Welcome home!!!! I'm sorry again about your MIL, and I'm so sorry to hear about the ordeal with your credit card. Ask Chase if you can keep the points for your trouble ;)

Tiggerrrrrnn - Good luck with the family b-day party today:wizard: I'm sure it will be lots of fun!!!!

To everyone else - Hi there!! :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and take a shower
As soon as the girls wake up, I need to run to the store to let the painters in - the last coat of paint is being done today :woohoo:

Have a great day everyone!!

good morning all. It looks like a beautiful day. I hope to hit some garage sales today. I'm stil trying to learn who everyone is so forgive me that I didn't address anyone personally. My memory is not so good these days. I don't know if it's menopause, affects from past chemotherapy tx or having three kids.:rolleyes1 Have a great day.:yay:

poohlovermom -- Going to the city-wide garage sale in Batavia? My parents always have one, so I know to not even ask for babysitting the 1st weekend in May. :lmao:

Here's a question for you all -- I've decided anything related to choir/voice lessons is underground and you have to know someone in the know to find out about it. I have been searching around for some summer camps and/or voice lessons and wondering if you all know what is out there. :surfweb:

Here are a couple I found (probably a little too late this year to register but maybe next year)

http://www.risingstarsshowchoir.com/index.cfm -- they have a nice little video that shows the camp.

Illinois Summer Youth Music http://www.music.uiuc.edu/isym/index.html -- this is the one I know her choir director has talked about.

Anyone familiar with either of these? Know of other ones? The rising star one didn't even come up on a regular search, I happened to find that linked through another link type of thing.

Hi Everyone,
Busy…busy on this end and away from the computer. You guys did a lot of gabbing the last couple days! I am going to try and spend some time catching up reading. Hope you guys are all well. I see we hit page 1000!!! That’s cool! You are a super bunch fo ladies (and some gents).

Bunchkin good luck with the camera purchase! I love your pix!!!!! Your DD looks like you doesn't she? I have seen some old pix of you from Chicago meets.
Hersey..Congrats on DSs project! Thanks for the pic!
mvazul  Love the pix!! You guys look nice and I love your WDW collage!

Slo...congrats and good luck on the new venture!:cheer2:

poohlovermom..so very sorry for your loss.:sad1:

I finally made some decisions........................
I decided since it’s my 40th birthday I would splurge a little and we are going to stay at Animal Kingdom the two nights we will be in Disney:yay: . We used AAA, which helped a little. I am VERY excited since we have never stayed there. We got a car for 9 days at $204.00 and we booked the WDW November trip using AAA also. They released the MVMCP dates already!!! I was shocked!

Also, I bought tickets today for Playhouse Disney Live!!! I got Row D!!! Thank goodness I got an alert from the Rosemont Theater! That makes HSM on Ice, The Wiggles and now this! I am such a chump! I am going to definitely have to find a way to make money to support my Disney addiction!!!! (and I can’t count accumulating Disney Reward dollars as a job!)

BTW Poohlovermom I thought the same thing as I was reading your post about your CC# being stolden. 70 reward dollards for your trouble!!!!!!!

I missed the info on the MVMCP and the Playhouse Disney Live concert ahead of time. With all I read on the DIS I cannot believe I almost missed the boat on both events! Crazy!!!!! I guess I just needed to be reading in the right place at the right time and wasn’t.

Hope all are well!!!! Thanks for listening. Shout out to all of you!!!
