Pretty nice day out there so far. It feels summery! Gotta love it.

So, guess what I got on my computer here at work? Well, I found the .wav file that plays the horns from the Disney Magic ship. When it leaves port, it blasts out the first few notes of When You Wish Upon a Star. So now, everytime an email comes in, I get to hear the Disney Magic horn blasts. Gotta love it!!

Slo: Megan loved the hiding thing too, but unfortunately, she really just liked to hide herself. You think losing your purse is scary... try thinking you lost your kid.

So, guess what I got on my computer here at work? Well, I found the .wav file that plays the horns from the Disney Magic ship. When it leaves port, it blasts out the first few notes of When You Wish Upon a Star. So now, everytime an email comes in, I get to hear the Disney Magic horn blasts. Gotta love it!!

I'm not 100% computer literate but how do you attach sounds when your e-mail comes in? Is it easy to do? I know I've heard of such things such ages ago with commercials of "you have mail" or something like that but mine doesn't make noise (an icon pops up at the bottom of the screen). The feature is probably turned off but if someone points me in the right direction, I'm sure I could figure out how to turn it back on. That would be fun to customize it.

Hunter had a great time at the field trip yesterday. Even though his allergies really started bothering him. By the end he was really wanting to go home.
But we had fun!!!



Has anyone seen the movie 'The Break Up' with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn??

I saw this last night (stayed up late and shouldn't have!!), and I cried and cried!!!! I knew it wasn't a true comedy and heard all the reviews, but I didn't expect it to turn out the way it did in the end.

Hunter's never been much of a hider! Well, he likes to hide around the house when Tony comes home from work to surprise him....but he always hides in the same spot!!!

Good morning, everyone!!

Sorry I haven't been around much. Beginning of last week, DD came down with a cold, sinus infection and pink eye. She is still fighting a nasty cough. Then, DH caught something - sinus stuff and coughing. I think I have it now.

Also, we have been packing and moving. We finally found an apartment. After living with my MIL for almost one year, we are moving out - FINALLY!!!! It is just across the street from MIL , but I am looking forward to having our own space and just being the 4 of us, again. We have been moving small loads every day.

Our phone and DSL are supposed to be hooked up today. DH called me a bit ago and asked if the phone company had called me. I told him they hadn't. Apparently they shut off the phone and DSL without letting him know. DH works from home and was in the middle of writing his reports when they shut everything down. Hopefully they will have it up and running in the new place soon.

I think we will be staying there tonight. Not 100% sure, though. We barely have anything there, but we do have an air mattress and the kids have their sleeping bags. DH works from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and then, again, from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM. So, we really need to be where the phone lines are. We are planning to officially move this weekend. We will be renting a truck and getting everything out of storage. Anyone want to have a Chicago DIS meet and help us move?!?! I'll buy the pizza and beer!!

We won't be moving anything tonight. We're heading to another Cubs' game!!! The kids are excited to go tonight. Hopefully they win!!

Slo - that is too funny about your daughter. Kids do some of the strangest things. In fact, last week, my DD cut her hair. And not just a trim. She cut her bangs right down to her scalp. Thankfully she lifted the top part and cut underneath, so most of it is covered. Also, she cut about 6 or 7 inches off the left side. Her hair used to be down below her shoulders. I had to take her to the salon to have it fixed. It is now right at the bottom of her ear lobe. DH asked her why she cut her hair. He got the standard, "I don't know!" I asked her later why she cut her hair. She said she did it, because it was annoying her and she wanted it to look like "G.P.'s" hair (a little girl in her class with the same first name and extremely short hair - she looks like a boy). I told her "G.P" wanted her hair to look like DD's. DD doesn't care and is very happy with her new do!!

I thought it was okay, but I was extremely disappointed with the ending. It didn't feel finished. Maybe there will be a sequel???

I don't think there will be a sequel. But I agree that the ending was disappointing. And I just found out that Vince wrote and produced that movie, I hadn't a clue.

If you have certain .wav files on your computer that you would like to attach to certain functions on your computer, all you do is go to your Control Panel, Click on Sounds and Audio Devices, Click on Sounds, where you will see a list of all the functions your computer does with a sound attached to it.

Go to New Mail Notification and to change the sound from it's default, just click on Browse, find the .wav file you want to use, double click on that and then hit Apply.

Voila...

Now, everytime an email pops up, I hear MAGIC!!

Hi everyone! Thanks for to all of you for the congrats on the house. I have been busy making calls, mailing things, etc I can't believe all of this is going to come together in last than a month! I am beyond excited, though!
Slo- Aren't kids sweet? DS lost our cable remote. We had to buy a new one, but when we moved, we heard something in the couch. Somehow, he had managed to get it in a tiny hole, under the cushion, and it was inside the couch! I did not even know the hole existed, let alone that there was a remote in there!
Mvazul- DD got a haircut when she was 2 from DS's friend. Poor thing was bald until then, and this little boy cut a chunk down to her scalp! I honestly cried!
Mac- Bless you! However, from my experience, I would take boys over girls anyday! I am one of 4 girls and I always pitied my dad! Now, ds is much easier than dd. Can you say attitude?
Bunchkin- Never saw it, but I know how it ends. That's why I never saw it!

SamIAM21 -- COOL!!!!!! Thanks I got the sound file to work -- I don't have any Disney .wav files but DH has a bunch of tv show ones. Although I think I'm going to have to find shorter ones. I picked "Greatest American Hero" (anyone remember that show?) -- love the song but it's a bit L-O-N-G for an e-mail notification. It played the entire time I was typing this.

Of course, I then also found out you can practically add a sound to everything -- this could be dangerous (not to mention freaky!!! I just got another e-mail and practically jumped out of my chair! when the computer started playing music!).

Ahhh...more toys to play with.

I have to admit though, it's getting a bit annoying as I probably get 10 emails per hour here at work.

Sam -- That was probably not the best thread! I ended up reading it. I'm already a bit of a paranoid person (OK a lot of a paranoid person)..I would be so freaked out on even that possibility of lateness considering we were late everyone on our Disney vacation. Plus, some of the other circumstances...I'm so paranoid as with my luck something freaky would happen and I would never be allowed to leave the foreign country.

Hello Chicago Area Dis'ers! I've popped in here a couple of times. I think it is great that y'all have such a close group here.

MVAZUL - I currently have my house on the market (it is so slow) and we are planning on moving in with my in-laws to save $$$ and find a house in a better neighborhood, school district, etc. We will probably be there for a year, hopefully no longer. I was so happy to hear that I am not the only one out there in the same sort of situation

Evening Everyone!!

Internet has been out at work for the last two days The cable just fell of the building and happened to land on my car Of course it took Comcast 4 phone calls to send someone out to fix it........

Thank goodness it is fixed. Haven't been home much lately to read the boards at night so I do it at work before 7am when the dogs arrive.

Went up to MKE this weekend to bring more of college DD STUFF home. The invasion of the tornado happens a week for Friday.......

Anyone watch Dancing with the Stars? I was really surprised about the bottom two - looking for feedback.

Also so Night at the Museum this weekend HOW CUTE!!! Highly recommend it.

Well I booked my tickets and hotel for WDW leaving Mar. 28 and returning 31st. When I can't coordinate with WDW DD I end up renting a car which I am doing this time. Darn car is costing me more than the airline ticket It is because I am only there 3 1/2 days. Can't use the coupons I normally do - need to keep working on that.
