Umm...."fox valley area" are you meaning by Fox Valley mall or are you meaning "Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles" area? I've heard both referred to that way. Although, I believe Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles are still considered the Tri-Cities too -- hard to tell with all the growth what we are called anymore!

Good morning all, I am new to this thread and wondered where you are all from. I live in the fox valley area. Anyone live near here. I have 3 kids, 5,7 and 14. It's nice to know there are other disney addicts in the area.

I think you will like it here. This group of people are fantastic!!

I have a work-at-home-husband. He is a senior reporting analyst for a health insurance company. I was a SAHM until recently. I am now a nanny, again - trying to get my photography business up and running in the meantime. I have a 12 year old and a 5 year old !! We live on the north side just a few blocks north of Wrigley Field.

I grew up in Batavia, so I've been in this area literally all my life -- was born in St. Charles & spent my first 5 years there but don't remember much other than moving to Batavia my Kindergarten year (and a few memories of Kindergarten in St. Charles).

TGIF EVERYONE!!!!​

Yesterday went smooth - which I was really glad about
My bosses gave me a going away necklace, which is very pretty.
I left my key when I left, and I walked out the door for the last time.
When I left I thought to myself - I started working there in March 1988 and I started dating Kevin in July 1988 - I have been working there longer than Kevin and I have been together - that's a long time!!!!

Then when I came home Kevin, the girls, and I went out to dinner at a place called Northwoods. It really reminds me of the Wilderness Lodge, and the food is very yummy. We were going to get dessert at DQ on the way home, but the line was massive at the drive-through, and I was full anyway, so we'll get that another time

Thanks to everyone that wished me well on my last day - I appreciate it!!

Now I must go and get Steph up for school

slo, we have a Northwoods down the road from us and my daughters love the place. I always have to split with someone. The servings are so huge, but very tasty.

I forgot about discount Easter candy!!!
All we are getting is rain. I can't stand rain that goes on and off for days. We had a taste of what water can do when there is too much of it coming down. But who hasn't.

jax - the portions at Northwoods are huge, but I gotta tell ya, I ate the whole meal myself My meal was mashed pototoes, stuffing, pot roast w/ gravy, and green beans - comfort food!!!!

It looks pretty dreary out right now but who knows if it will clear up.

DD has her state cheerleading competition tomorrow. I'm supposed to have a basket made up for the raffle -- do you think I've gotten to it yet? She has class today, so I will have it done by then & drop it off.

I'm kind of scared as to just how many people will be there & how this is all going to work. They have 200 kids who will be competing -- which means there will be *at least* 400 people (1 parent/child -- but more likely 500 - 600 people) there. I think that's the biggest competition we have had with the park district since we have since this team has started (last year). I don't think we planned enough concessions so it should be interesting. I'm really glad they moved the location!! It was going to be at one of the grade schools but has moved to the High School. Good thing -- I think we would have been over maximum capacity in the original gym they were going to have to have the competition at (we would be packed like sardines since there aren't that many bleachers! At least at the High School with the bleachers even with a ton of people it will look like a small amount. ).

The boys are up & now want breakfast...imagine that.

Hey, Chicago peeps! How is everybody today? Gotta tell you guys, Friday the 13th is usually a kind of lucky day for me, but it seemed like yesterday everything that could go wrong did...just little things, but they all added up, you know (like going to Starbucks and they didn't have the syrup they needed to make the coffee I wanted or waiting over 15 MINUTES in the drive up line at the bank, even though I was the ONLY car there!!! GRRR!) And, today, so far, ummmm...not much better...we have now taken both Mark's car and Brian's car to different dealers to have them looked at...Mark's car has the horn stuck on it, plus he drives a Ford Escape which is part of that recall thingie, and Brian's car has squeeeeeeky brakes...and we are taking both of those cars to Kentucky next weekend for a family trip, so we need to have them working okay! And, of course, it's crunch time for finishing up the taxes, too!

So....I'm on the DIS for a bit, trying to cheer myself up!!! Hope you all have a good day and happy weekend!

next week, i have to go to macomb and move half of college's son's belongings home. each year he collects more junk and can't do one trip and get it all home. so, i make two trips..........and the cost of gas in town today is at $2.99
