Good Morning all!!

So I've decided that I really need to quit procrastinating and get my Christmas shopping done. I don't know what is my problem this year. I'm just not in the holiday spirit I think.

For all the Croc lovers here.... did you know that Macy's carries them and that there was a coupon for 10% off of shoes in the Sunday paper, and it didn't exclude Crocs!! They have Christmas colored ones and lots of Christmas Jibbits!!
I think I'm going shopping on Wednesday.



Crissup I'm sorry to hear that Carol got hurt! I sure do hope she's feeling better soon! Please let her know that we're all thinking of her!
I am notorious for finding black ice! In fact this morning I was taking my son to the bus stop and explaining to him about black ice and no sooner it was out of my mouth and he fell. Luckily he was fine as I had him by one arm.

Hersey I'm glad Tony is working too! This time of year can be rough on anyone in the construction business, and with housing sales and construction going slow.....it's not a good thing.




Donna Hugs for you today. I miss my step dad too. He passed away a few weeks after Christmas almost 2 years ago now.

Hello Chicagoland folks --

Just got back from our annual Chicago December pilgrimage ... had great fun and were kept EXTREMELY busy ... I'm sure you all probably know about this already but there is a wonderful Star Wars-based exhibit at the Mus of Sci and Ind -- think it's only going to be around for a few more weeks but I would encourage you to go if you have a fanatic in your family like my 5 year old

also a plug for a local restaurant -- went to Venus in Greektown -- wonderful food but the service (esp the attention paid to the kids) is what knocked my socks off

Macy's has Crocs!! Oh no! I don't like to shop Macy's but Crocs, in Christmas colors with Christmas jibbitz! Might be too tempting to keep me outta there!

Well my shopping is almost done! All I need to do is grab a few gift cards this weekend and I'm done! I need to get some stocking candy for Megan and that's it! I love being this close! The weather is supposed to be cold this weekend, but cold is okay as long as it isn't ICY!

Crissup, this is the first chance I've had to read about Carol. I hope she is doing better! The ice is just horrible and so scary!

Bunchkin, looks like we have a special day coming up real soon huh? Should we get together and go to lunch on that Saturday after? Unfortunately, I have to work on our special day! I like having a birthday buddy!

You guys are lucky you got the Schererville tickets Hannah Montana tickets. When I went on line and punched in the zip code out there, it didn't put it up as an option. So, I'll be schlepping downtown that day. If the weather is "normal" just cold or something, Megan and I can do lunch out downtown and maybe hit the AG store.

Has anyone heard about the new Girl of the Year doll yet? I thought I'd heard something about her name being Ellen? Not sure though as I think AG keeps that close to the vest.

It was announced on Oprah a while back. I don't remember the details but my mom happened to see it. I don't remember the name but for some odd reason I want to say she's an ice skater. I know that's not much help but it's all my brain can remember.

I haven't even come close to getting my shopping done yet. I've been too busy running the kids to all their stuff.

I'm sorry to hear about Carol Ann's fall. I hope she is feeling a bit better today.

We're iced in here today up in the beeeauuutiful northwestern corner of Illinois no school; no work; no basketball game tonight...just a lazy relaxing day at home with (please keep your fingers crossed) power on! It flickered a couple times about 3 hours ago...otherwise no problem. I'm enjoying my time on the disboards, watching some TV, and getting a great start on my paperback this afternoon. DD, DH, and I plan to enjoy the day without guilt; DS is tucked away at college. Stay Safe--that ice is a "tricksty trickster"

Many thoughts to all of you in the ice storms. Just miserable and rainy here for now. I am sure the ice will come eventually. Thankfully, yesterday was my workday, tomorrow is staff meeting and a seminar, which I will skip is weather is too nasty.
Carol Ann C - sure hope you are doing OK after your nasty fall. Lots of hugs and warm wishes for a speedy recovery.

Bunchkin, that call on your phone was from Nov. 20th I think. Odd that it just now got to you. That was from when Kellie was practicing for Nutcracker at the Rialto and Kyle was hoping to see Hunter. You be extra careful out there today and tomorrow with that foot of yours. Even my ankle is a bit achey and uncooperative. Wants to go its own way.
Well all. Kids have early release today. Kellie is feeling better and back to school, so I need to run collect the kiddies.

Hmmm....does DD have cheer practice or not? THAT is the question.

I just got an e-mail from the school that they are cancelling all home & away contests for today. The 4:30 activity bus is still running but the 5:40 one has been cancelled.

Now...I would assume that means pretty much all after school activities are cancelled but contests would be games to me. Not sure why the 4:30 bus is still running then if everything was cancelled (you would think most would just take their regular bus).

DD's practice was supposed to go to 5:15. I did tell her if it got cancelled take her regular bus home & call me just to let me know. I haven't gotten a call from her yet (but her school just got out 3 minutes ago! She probably hasn't even turned on her cell phone yet!). I'm just not sure if they will have practice since there is the 4:30 bus and let them out early. Hmmm....

Wonder if this means no school tomorrow? Last time they cancelled evening activities, that meant no school the next day.

Edited: She called -- she's coming home!! YEAH!!! She did think I was fairly psyhic that I said "cheerleading's cancelled right?" Hee Hee! Early night tonight for everyone so maybe we can get the Christmas tree decorated.

I know that Mac always posts the Disney shows for the week, but just want to remind you all there is supposed to be a new holiday-themed Samantha Brown show on tonight on the Travel Channel. The show was actually filmed during the week that Mark & I were at Disney World (the same week they filmed the Christmas parade). There was a lady on the bus that was talking about running into Samantha Brown (we always just call SB the "perky" one)...at EPCOT at the Candlelight Processional. Anyway, just a heads up...I hope it's a good show!

Do you all remember how I was so concerned about being slow yesterday due to the weather - boy was I wrong!!!! I was so busy, I still can't get over how busy I was. The girls and I ended up staying at the store until 9pm last night, just so I could get some things done - I was so tired when I came home Today is my last ad in the newspaper for Christmas These ads were in an insert that was in the paper every Wednesday for 5 weeks, and these ads have really been good to me - they were worth the money (at least I'm saying that now, I haven't got the bill yet ) I will definitly do this again next year



Sam - I'm anxious to see the new AG doll too. I'm sure Stephanie is going to want her

Even though I still have to work tomorrow - I love the fact that I don't have to get up at 5:30am, and I don't have to be rushed to get Stephanie out the door to school


Tonight, immediately after work, I have to go to the town Christmas party - it should be nice. We are going because Kevin is on the FD, and is considered an employee of the town. His parents are going to be there too, because my MIL is the deputy clerk treasurer. We don't sit by them though, because they sit by town hall people, and we sit with FD people. It should be a nice night


Tomorrow, immediately after work, we are going to Kevin's new work Christmas party. It's downtown at Harry Carey's, and is suppossed to be really nice. It's a "jacket and tie" required party, so when I get home, I have to "formal" myself up in 10 minutes or less, because this party starts at 6pm, and I close the store at 4pm. Talking about a very rushed night
