Hi guys!!

Thanks for the welcome home everyone!!! :goodvibes

Mindy - Welcome home!!!! Sounds like you had a wonderful time:goodvibes

Hersey - Kevin getting sick was a bummer, but luckily, he bounced back quick.

Rose - Kevin is doing better, thanks for asking :goodvibes . My friend did very well in the marathon - we are very proud of him!!!:)

macraven - I'm so glad that he got better before we went on the plane. I was so worried about that ::yes:: I took a decent amount of pictures - I will post them probably this weekend.

Sam - Nicole's flight was later than mine, so I'm sure she is tired this morning.
It was so fun running into them :)

Leigh - I'm kinda picky too ::yes:: We almost ate at the Brown Derby, but there menu was sorta like Coral Reef, so I cancelled it.

Well, I gotta run - I have more unpacking to do, and more X-Mas decorations to take down.

Speaking of decorations......

At the WL all the decorations were up when we arrived - they were beautiful:goodvibes When we went back to the resort at midnight, they were in the process of taking them down (they just started). When we went in the lobby at 5:20am - they were gone - isn't that amazing!!! I couldn't believe how fast they are.

The X-Mas decorations were still up at the MK too until Monday. We left there Sunday night at 11pm and by 8:30am when we arrived for our Crystal Palace breakfast they were all gone - not a trace of them - AMAZING!!!!!

Gotta run!!!

I bet you wish you had those magic un-decoration fairies at your house to get them all down while you sleep! I know I do!!!

Hi Everyone,
How’s everybody doing?
:flower3: Welcome home Slo & Bunchkin….
Slo..Great Mini Trip report. Sorry DH was sick. That really stinks.
I am amazed too at how fast those decorations come down and YES SamIAm I can only dream of having someone like that around here. Wouldn't that be the best! I had a friend who went there the end of October and she saw the place all decked out on the 31st and then she told me the next day it was gone and Christmas was already partially up (November 1).
Slo..I meant to ask you, what is a DIS sponser?
:surfweb: I have been trying not to procrastinate by coming to the computer but here I am. I washed the floor with my best friend Scooba  while I was out picking up DD and doing some returns to Walmart. I love that thing. I came home and at least the floor was spotless (that's about it though)!

:happytv: Did you guys see Grease “You’re the one that I want”. It’s the new reality show on TV now. They showed Taft HS which is our public HS and SUPERDAWG! My Mom actually went to Taft at the same time that guy did who wrote Grease. He lived where I live now.

I STILL have to put away so much :santa: Christmas mess. Lots of running around is getting done but I need to start packing up the clutter (like I previously discussed). I did call a local consignment shop but she hasn’t called back yet.

We are going to go to Leaning Tower YMCA today to possibly join. There is a no joiner fee and no obligation promotion ending this week so we are going to check it out. I want to get the kids into the pool and my DH wants to work out so it might be a done deal. I think they have a good baby-sitting jumpy play area too that is included with a membership. We will see.

I finally made an appointment with the GP about my shoulder/arm pain. It is just constantly there so I have to do something. Sometimes, like right now, my whole arm feels numb (like a pinched nerve not a heart attack). I'm sure they will probably give me an anti-inflammatory of some sort.

Hope everyone is doing well!
Better run & get something done while DS is sleeping!

PS I think I some how miraculously avoided the cold that went around our home!
Debbie

Hi, DMM! :goodvibes

slo - I'm glad you had a good time, though I'm sorry to hear Kevin got sick! That happened to us one year when we went down for a short trip to Universal. We spent one day in at the Magic Kingdom and ate dinner at the Crystal Palace and Toby was feeling sick the next day. He claimed it was "Mickey Mouse's" fault. :rotfl:

Thanks everyone for your continued welcome homes!!!:goodvibes

Hi Everyone,
Slo..I meant to ask you, what is a DIS sponser?
It's money that you donate to the DIS to help keep this place in operation. If you want to be a sponser, here's the link for you to take a look at it.

Kevin is starting to wonder if it was the steak he had at California Grill. He ordered it Medium Rare and it definitly came medium rare (he said it was the best steak he ever ate). Normally, when he orders a steak like this, it comes more medium than medium rare, therefore he thinks his body rejected it (who knows:confused3 ). Personally, I think he had a little stomach virus and he doesn't want to admit it:rolleyes:

Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to work I go.
Plus, Steph will be home from school soon, and she will need to do her homework right away because she has CCD tonight.

Hey everyone.
Welcome home Sandy. Glad to hear you had a good time. Sorry Kevin was sick. I worry about that happening every time I go on vacation. But it was nice you still had a friend to bum around with while you were there.
That is so cool that you ran into Bunchkin more than once unscheduled. I ran into people I know from home down there 2 years ago. It was really funny because DH and I had just said how funny it would be if we saw someone we knew from home just before that happened. (And yet, never seem to see a Diser there).
Thankfully, all my decorations are down. Now to get organized with all the new toys and things. Hopefully, IKEA will get the bookshelves in soon for the kids playroom. Then I can start hauling things down there and sorting what needs to go (ie. Happy Meal toys and Dollar store toys), and what can stay (all the stuff from Christmas).
Welcome back to Princess Mindy. Was starting to wonder what happened to you. Hadn't seen you here for awhile. Sounds like you had a nice trip also.
Debbie nice to know you've avoided the cold so far. Hope your shoulder pain is nothing serious.
:wave2: to you Roseprincess, Mac, Jedi, Hersey, SamIAm, Becky, Crissup, and everyone else who I may be forgetting.
And WELCOME home Bunchkin. Hope you also had a good time.

:rotfl2: SamIAM...Love your new Siggie. Have you seen the Tigger footage?

Hello Everyone!!

Thanks for all the welcome backs!!
We did have a wonderful time at WDW! It was such a different experience not having the kids with. We talked to them so much on the phone that it was hard to miss them. ;)

Here's my little trip report for you all: :thumbsup2

Friday
We arrived at Ft. Wilderness at approx 11am. No line at all in the reception and we were greeted by really happy, friendly people. This remained the same through out the trip while at Ft Wilderness. :)
A cabin was available right away for us!! And in minutes we were in a WDW van being shuttled to our cabin. It literally took minutes to check in and get to our cabin.....WOW!! Tony stayed at the cabin while I was shuttled off to the Bike Barn to get our reserved golf cart. No line here either and I was off right away on our zippy golf cart.
We stopped off at the Trails End restaurant for lunch. Really yummy food and a great waiter. His name was Ken, and he's kind of famous. I had read about him in a post on the Camping Board. A really friendly and upbeat guy!
After stuffing ourselves we went to Epcot. We were able to scratch off a few rides/attractions that where on our list of things we hadn't done yet.
Then we headed to the Contemporary for dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse. This is where we where surprised by a very nice visit from Sandy and Kevin! It was great seeing them there! :goodvibes
We had the best steaks there! And I had ordered a small cake to celebrate our anniversary. It was delish!! And the waitress had brought us each a glass of champagne with a strawberry on the edge. Very thoughtful of her! :cutie:
We were going to head back to Epcot after that but my feet were already killing me from being on them all day and we were bushed from the long day since we had been up since 3am!!!
So we took a boat over to Ft Wilderness and chilled for a while in our cabin before heading off to dream land.

Saturday
We decided to sleep in a little bit that morning. Boy that was a treat!!
We headed over to MGM. I decided to use an ECV this day, and I was really grateful I did! ::yes:: First off, Tony did TOT while I shopped in a near by store! ;) Afterwards we went to see Beauty and the Beast which we hadn't seen in a few years. We had the best seats and I took a ton of pics.
We got in all our favorite attractions including Lights, Motor, Action which we had never seen before. :) The crowds were light which made touring a breeze! We left the park in the afternoon and took the boat to Epcot. We squeezed in a few rides/attractions we missed the prior day, including Sorin'. What an awesome ride!!! We then hopped a bus to POR for our dinner ressie at Boatwrights! We had a yuumy dinner with a really nice waitress we've had before, Jenny. Then we took the boat to Downtown Disney. We did some major shopping in the Marketplace and then headed to PI. We had never been there before so we were really excited to see what fun things we might find! First stop was the Adventures Club!! That place was a hoot!!! I could have stayed there all night!
Then we went to the Comedy Warehouse and saw a really funny show there! It was a really late night and us old timers were feeling it!!! :rotfl:
So we headed back to the Campground. Hopped on our golf cart and headed to our cozy cabin in the woods. What a godsend the golf cart was!!! Golf carts are my friend!!! :lmao:

Sunday
Well, we should have gotten up early for breakfast at CP that morning, but the prior night's activities whiped us out!! ;) So I called and changed our ressie to lunch instead! We found a couple envelopes hanging from our door that morning. One was about our ME pick up and the other was an anniversary card/certificate from the reservation center staff! What a nice touch! After finally getting moving we headed to MK to find the crowds quite manageable. We did all our favorite rides and like Sandy said we ran into them at the Stitch attraction. Minus a poor, sick Kevin though. :( We had a great lunch at CP and had the best experience with the characters there. When Pooh came by he tried squeezing himself between our table and a near by, very close pillar. And he GOT STUCK!!!! :lmao: We laughed sooooo hard!! I know the person inside had to be keeping themselves from laughing too!! :rotfl: Our waiter was the best and gave us a certificate from all the characters honoring our anniversary and gave us two decorated cupcakes with candles in them. He rang a glass and called attention to us and made a little speech. It was a really happy moment!! :goodvibes Another cool thing that happened was later in the day after picking up packages I sent to the front of the park, I found a little note card tucked into one bag. It was from Mickey thanking us for coming to the park that day and a Donald Duck Cutie pin was attached to it!! Too cool!! :cool1: In the afternoon we headed over to the Wilderness Lodge to take a look around and then back to the Campground for a little rest and to check out the resort some more. Then it was back to MK as it was an EMH late night.

Monday
Before heading out that morning we stowed our luggage at the front desk, returned our golf cart and had a super, yummy (and late) breakfast at Trails End. Then we headed out to MK. We thought the crowds really dropped that day. Rode all our favorite rides again and ran into Sandy and the gang at Buzz! We had a Fastpass and ended up ahead of them! HA HAAAA!! ;) Love those Fastpasses!!! :thumbsup2
We did a little more shopping on Main Street before heading back to the Campground to get our ME bus to the airport. The flight back was very smooth and we arrived slightly early. Unfortunately though, when we got to Tony's van in the parking lot at the airport the battery was DEAD!! :confused3 We have no clue how that happened. We did get a jump from the attendant on duty and we were finally on our way. We got home around 12:30am.

We were so glad to be home. But I got no sleep last night. My sister's son had gotten a fever and he was fussing in his sleep all night long. I ended up taking a 3 hour nap earlier today. Good thing Tony didn't go back to work today! ;)

We really enjoyed the cabin at Ft Wilderness and plan to go back with the kids. It was like being in a totally different place then we had ever experienced in any other resort. It was so quiet and peaceful. And there was no rudeness by ANYONE we encountered there! No food court crazy people either! :rotfl: And there was so much to do there including special activities they plan for each day. And the cabin itself was really nice. Big space for a family to move around in and not bump into each other. I would stay there again in a heart beat!! :cloud9:
And we really enjoyed touring the parks by ourselves too.
One funny thing that kept happening to me was that I kept having little kids talk to me all the time. They must have known I was a mom! Tony was laughing over it because no matter where we went some little kid would strike up a conversation with me. :rotfl:

That's it from me for now. I'm really tired and need some sleep!

Peace out dudes! :hippie:

:happytv: Did you guys see Grease “You’re the one that I want”. It’s the new reality show on TV now. They showed Taft HS which is our public HS and SUPERDAWG! My Mom actually went to Taft at the same time that guy did who wrote Grease. He lived where I live now.
Hey Debbie! I didn't watch the show but, I did go to Taft, and I know the writer history and, I've eaten at Superdawg a time or 2! :rotfl: (P.S. I looked for you today but, the Pre-K lights were out! Mrs. Nowak was just coming in herself. :confused3 )

Sandy & Nicole, WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!!! Sounds like you both had great trips (minus the Kevin illness). Great reports! Now, we need pics! :thumbsup2 Were you both there celebrating anniversaries?? Hmmmmmm, maybe......15th is coming up for us, IF we reunite...maybe Disney is an option???? :confused3 - :woohoo: :cool1: :yay: - Nah, probably too much to wish for right now. ;)

Mindy - WOW!!! Thanks for sharing your trip also!!! Any pics??? :thumbsup2

Have a Wonderful Wednesday everyone! :grouphug:

:flower3:

How is everyone today?

Today I am going to be home again all day because I don't have a car. We took it to the body shop on Thursday, to have the bumper fixed, and we will pick it up tonight. I have to admit, it's been kinda nice being stranded at home:)

Tiggerrnn - Thanks for the welcome home :goodvibes . I was grateful to have my friend to go to the parks with while Kevin was sick, but even if I didn't, I would have gone alone. Luckily too, my friend is someone that we've been friends for 15 years, so we had a great time

Debbie - Poor Tigger:guilty:

Bunchkin - Hello my friend - it was so good to see you this past weekend:goodvibes Where the kids absolutly thrilled to see you? I bet they were ::yes::
**I didn't know it was your anniversary - if I knew I would have said, "Happy Anniversary!!" on Friday. How many years for you and Tony?
**Great TR - it sounds like you both had a great time!!!! :goodvibes

Kim - Thanks for the welcome home :goodvibes
**It wasn't our anniversary, I just said that to The California Grill so we could get a window seat. I didn't think that me saying it was our first trip there w/o kids would have the same affect (I'm a liar I know:rolleyes: ).

Well, I"m off to get Steph to school :teacher:
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Geffric- I PM'd you x2. Not sure if you're getting the PM's. thanks.

Hi to all. Be back later.......

Slo We were celebrating our anniversary even though our actual anniv. date is 9-16!! ;) We didn't get to really celebrate it last year. And the year before our basement had flooded in a severe rain storm the night before, so we didn't get to celebrate that year either. So we were over due!! :lmao:
You didn't tell a lie that harmed anyone, so it was ok!! ;) ;) It just got you a better view at dinner! :thumbsup2

Kim I think wishing to go to WDW is a fine idea!! :goodvibes :)

Need to get the kids ready for school!! :wave2:

Good morning all! Thanks for the welcome backs. I missed you guys! It was an awesome trip but I'm back now and dreaming of my next vacation.
Rose no I've never been to Hershey-sorry! But I'm here if you want to learn more about the point!
Bunchkin sounds like you had a great time. Happy belated anniverary!
And to you as well Slo!
Hi Kim-no pics yet but I should be picking them up from Costco soon!
Debbie that is so cool that you live in the Grease composer's house! I love that show-and Kim went to that high school! Were you a pink lady?
Leigh the place sounds awesome-sorry about the having to work on Monday thing though. Thats no fun. I get Monday off and I have no idea what I'll do yet, but I'm thankful for it nonetheless.
well have a great day Chicago!

Morning all.. sorry I was MIA yesterday.. but I am now working the old and new territory and been very busy at work.. I think they do this So i can't get a resume together and start to look for a new job.:rotfl2:

Plus we had Boy Scouts on Monday and Tuesday nights, tonight I whave to go to school for a meeting for the Model UN club conference that Geoff is going to in downtown Chi at the end of the month..He is very excited..

Anyway,, welcome back SLO and Bunchy sounds loke you both had a great time ( minus Kevin getting sick) glad the crowds were light and you do the rides you wanted to do.. Are the Christmas decorations still up?

Welcome back Princess Mindy do you have any pics to share with us? I would love to hear more about your trip.

:dance3: well off to another fun day...

Good morning, Chicagoland!

Sandy/Nicole...welcome home! And, thanks to both of you for such detailed, great trip reports! I think it's so cool that you guys ran into each other down there so often. I hope that when you have some time, you will both post some pix of your trips...hint, hint...

GEFFRIC...hang in there ..I know work things can be so frustrating....

KIM...sounds like you had an awesome time at the Dancing with the Stars show!!! I had read that Jerry Springer was going to be the special guest...was he there, and how did he do?? I was so amazed at how he danced on the show. When I first heard he was doing it, I was not even planning to watch Dancing with the Stars, but he really added to the show!

LEIGH...Once upon a very, very long time ago, I used to work in the office of Wickes Furniture and after that, Homemakers Furniture. I don't know if it's changed, but when I was working at both of them, the salespeople had "ups"...which meant that the next customer in the store was theirs, and they did the old follow them around thing. As a customer, I know I would find that extremely annoying!!! I sure hope you find the furniture of your heart's desire soon!

Hi to everyone else...hope you all have a super day today!!! :)

Bunchkin - I not only lied about it being our anniversary, but I also lied about it being 10 years (I thought that would have more impact) when we've been married for 11 1/2 years - like you said, it was harmless!!!
**Happy belated anniversary to you and Tony :goodvibes

Rose - :wave2:

Mindy - thanks for the belated anniversary wish (but as you've probably read by now, I sorta lied about us celebrating our anniversary) It's good having you back here on the Chicago thread - we missed you!!!

geffric - Thanks for the welcome home:goodvibes
Good luck with the double territories:wizard: I hope they are stressing you out to much:headache:

Donna - thanks for the welcome home!!:goodvibes I will try and get some pictures up soon :)

I gotta go get some garbage outside before the garbage truck comes
Later gaters!!!!
